The Catskills Red Barn-near Belleayre

The Catskills Red Barn delivers a unique vacation experience year round. It's located next to Belleayre Mtn. Skiers and Riders also enjoy easy access to Hunter, Windham and Plattekill.

A variety of restaurants, supermarkets, and specialty shops are all nearby. Bargain hunters love the rural shopping. There's even a local distillery as well as brewery !

The interior features a mix of antiques, stained glass, and cleverly handcrafted lighting fixtures and furniture. The kitchen, well equipped and furnished for efficiency, meets a gourmet chef's skills. A vast library of board games, Books & CD's offers ''sunshine' on a rainy day. The space is an open design, yet cozy and intimate at the same time. It is best enjoyed by guests who enjoy each other’s company and want to spend time together. Please take note of the open stairs as well as the existence of heights without railings. There is a child gate available for the bottom of the stairs available on request.

The creature comforts and artfully curated design makes it easy to follow the number one house rule, ENJOY. The property's Welcome Book and host’s quick response to questions ensure that guests can feel right at home on arrival.

Loved our Stay!

This home has been put together very thoughtfully. Our stay was very comfortable. My kids loved exploring every corner and loved the bedroom downstairs. The bedroom upstairs was enchanting. The window behind the bed has a wonderful view of the ski trails at Bellayre.Wifi was good. The kitchen was well supplied and had good appliances.Last, and most important for my stay was the location. Three minute drive to Bellayre, which was so convenient!

Red barn weekend ski trip.

It is as the pictures show. It is a cute unique property with tons of country charm. A family of four and a four legged fur baby all had a great time. The host was amazing and made the stay great. Great location for skiing at Belleayre as well!

Cute weekend stay

Really cute weekend stay for my partner, pup and I. Easy access to the main road which was very convenient and great yard for the dog! Bathroom needs a little updating :)

Enchanting Red Barn

My wife and I have never stayed at a place that had so much character. It was simply charming. Quiet, peaceful, quirky, bright, cozy. Our gracious host has put so much love into this little barn and you can feel it as soon as you step in the door. We stayed four nights and were constantly surprised by all the charming details. I wish we were still there!

Perfect cabin

Great location and great cabin! Blythe was very helpful and responsive when we had a family emergency during our stay. We so appreciated her attentiveness. Would highly recommend the red barn!

Great place great location

Had a wonderful weekend with the dogs, hiking trails right from the property, the barn was great, there was a fall festival going on as well. We will be staying here again in the future!

Cozy, Welcoming & Fun

Upon entering the Red Barn we were instantly emersed in a fun, warm and cozy, yet quirky space! There is so much to look at and enjoy in every inch of decor. Plenty of information on places to eat and things to see! However if you want to stay in there are plenty of books and games too! Our dog loved the big yard and the trail behind the barn. All the features were perfection, from using the fire pit, to grilling, to nearby activities, shops and trails. The stairs in the red barn are rustic and beautiful, but our puppy was afraid to use them lol, nothing a little muscle and carrying power couldn’t fix so she could sleep in the main room near us! Blythe was an amazing host, full of suggestions and information, quick to respond, pleasant and friendly. The Red Barn has everything you need and was the perfect weekend getaway, we will definitely plan a longer stay next time. Overall the space was perfect and we will surely being going back!! It will forever be a wonderful place in my life as my boyfriend proposed while we were there!! I could write a novel on how great a place this is, but trust me, just go!

Charming!

We stayed in the red barn for 9 days with our 8 year old son. We had a great time hiking right from the property, having evening fireside hangouts, and exploring the region. It's secluded, quiet and peaceful, without being isolated. Blythe is a wonderful and informative host. Highly recommended

Catskills stay

The house was fantastic. The attention to detail was beautiful. From wood and kindling already stacked, to wildflowers throughout the space. Wonderful stay.

A gem in the catskills

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the red barn in the Catskills. The cabin is set in a lovely yard with great chairs for lounging and a hammock. The inside is spacious and filled with very cool furniture. The owner provided a lot of information leading up to our visit and was always on call and very kind, even when I lost the key. There's lots of wildlife in the area. Ran into a couple of bears, baby turkeys and a gazillion chipmunks. It is a great hiking location up to Belleayre. Lots of great restaurants within a short drive. We will be back!

Perfect Ski Weekend

The red barn was exactly as described and perfect for a quick 2 day ski trip for our family. Blythe was so great at communicating and the location couldn’t be easier for Belleayre Mountain.

The Catskills Red Barn exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect place for our family of 4 to enjoy a long weekend in the mountains. The location was so close to Bellyeare Mountain and Margaretville. The attention to detail and the craftsmanship in the barn was so cool and we discovered stuff every time we looked around. Blythe was a wonderful host. The communication was so easy and our stay was without any problems. It was so great, we will absolutely be going back!

Lovely Stay in the Catskills

I stayed for a long weekend with my husband and dog and we really enjoyed our stay at the Red Barn. The whole space was lovely but nothing beat waking up in the morning to that beautiful window and view! Blythe was also very communicative and helpful while we were there. We stayed for the weekend and hit unexpected rainy weather and Blythe warned us before we even realized. I'd definitely stay here again and definitely recommend booking!

Relaxing and reenergizing

Nice and quaint! Loved the photos Howard had taken and displayed threw out the barn. We enjoyed our day skiing and the mountain right there! The night sky was unbelievably gorgeous. Seeing the star so bright from our bedroom window, left you with such peaceful feelings. Enjoyed talking with Blythe! Wonderful woman. 🌺

We’ll Be Back

If we could leave 10 stars for all aspects we would. The property, owners and town were everything we expected and more. The red barn itself has is full of history and call items to explore, we stayed in doors most of the time. Howard restored most of it himself and there is a lot to discover inside, from books to paintings to game boards and electric features. Blythe was very accommodating and helpful giving us directions and recommendations. She even brought over blueberry muffins one morning which were amazing. The red barn has a nice light hiking trail accessible from the property which was super convenient and a nice option to take in the natural surroundings on a spontaneous whim. Towns near by are great, I recommend Phoenicia for local artistry and groceries and Woodstock for the novelty and more traditional brands and wears. All and all this we spent an extraordinarily and relaxing Thanksgiving giving weekend at the red barn and are looking forward to returning in summer for an entirely different experience.

Beautiful unique place

We really loved our stay here. The house is beautiful, clean, and supplied with all kitchen essentials. Hosts are extremely nice and welcoming. I would look to stay there again.

One of my photo assignments brought me to the Catskill Mountains. The map showed opportunities for skiing so I packed ski gear alongside my cameras.

It became obvious that my own mountain home would create perfect offset to the pressures of New York City life.
Fortunately I found a property with privacy and easy access. Plus, it's near everything which makes the Catskills so special.

My creative spirit inspired inventive enhancments to the original
structures. Thus, The Catskills Red Barn became functional art.
Visitors remark that they're living within a curated gallery.

Now I'm rewarded to welcome and share with guests what has meant so much to me and my family.

Mother Nature provides the quietude and environmental wonders while I take responsability for the stylistic creature comforts.
