Key Colony Beach House with Cabana Club membership

This is a spacious, canal water front, open layout, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, ground level home that can accommodate up to 6 guests with plenty of room to spare. It is a short walk from multiple restaurants, bars, waterfront parks, and the Cabana Club. We are located on the ocean side, however you will have immediate access to the gulf through Vaca cut. Whether you are planning a fishing vacation, or a family getaway, our home will not disappoint and is the ultimate getaway!
This property has an open wide layout with an incredible view of the canal throughout the entire back of the house. The home includes three high definition Roku smart TV's, Wireless Internet, Direct TV, bait freezer, filet station, outdoor shower, beach gear, gas grill, Laundry, fully equipped kitchen, multiple ceiling fans, a kayak, and access to the Cabana Beach Club. Behind the house is a patio seating area with where you can enjoy your day having a meal, and drinks while watching the boats pass by. At night we have LED lighting outdoors to set the mood while viewing the stars. This property also offers a 37 1/2' dock with ample space to keep your boat.

Great place to stay

Great place to stay. Parking was adequate. Boat dock was decent. Kitchen had had everything we needed. Pots and pans were worn but all clean and usable. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of towels

Great place, comfortable and well equipped

Great place to stay in the keys. The place is well-equipped and clean. We were disappointed with the cabana club as it was very busy and we were not allowed to bring our water bottles. The house is well located and we rented a boat for the week. We visited Sombrero reef, coffin patch, the sand bars and the golf side. The sand bars were our favourite

Relaxing stay in the keys

The house was very conveniently located. It had everything we needed and was the right size for our family of 4. We rented a boat for a few days and was able to tie it up behind the house. Nice to be able to use the Cabana Club. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Excellent place for relaxed vacation

First of all, my family was impressed with the cleanliness of this property. With 2 kids under three it was very important for us. Very nice relaxing view of the channel with cruising boats from time to time . Great location and restaurants in very close proximity. Very responsive property manager, Katie, and the owner who quickly replied our messages. Highly recommend this property to everyone who would like to enjoy his/her vacation on the keys.

Beautiful, clean, airy home with great views on the canal. Having access to the Key Club was great. Nice pool, beach and great service. Checking in was challenging though. We never received any check-in instructions. We contacted the property manager but did not hear back from her. After 2 hours we got nervous and sent her another message and also texted the owner. Then she started to respond but had trouble getting us the information. After a bit, she stopped responding. Just as we got to the property, we tried to call the owner. Finally, on the second call he responded and helped us to get into the house. Eventually, the property manager did send us the instructions but it was an hour after the owner had already helped us get in.We noticed the next day that the AC wasn't working. This time the property manager responded right away and someone was there in minutes. Unfortunately, the next day, we had the same problem. The issue was finally resolved in a timely manner.Be aware that if you are staying a week, you will need extra toilet paper and laundry detergent. Other than that the home was supplied with everything you could need.

Disappointments

Our host “forgot” to send the check-in instructions. I texted at 3:00; no response. Texted again at 4:00; no response. Called VRBO at 4:10, and they called the host. We finally gained access at 4:40.Home was clean and well-furnished. We appreciated the Club access for swimming. Days later we realized the refrigerator was not working so we had Luke-warm beverages and melted freezer items. Host got it repaired quickly after we reported it to her. The host texted “I can send you a check if you would like. A little something for the inconvenience with check in and the ice cream etc.” That was November 11, and still have not received the compensation.

Beautiful house

Beautiful house, exactly as described in listing. Owners were very responsive to correspondence. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Little green house

We had a great stay here. We loved the open floor plan of the kitchen and living area of the house. Our only dislike of the interior of the house was the tiny master bath. Outside the grounds were well maintained. Our dislikes of the exterior were the lack of any shade in the back yard. The retractable awning on the back of the house did not work. There is no dock, it is only the sea wall. The sea wall deck height was so high the boat can go underneath it. The 4x4 posts that were attached to the sea wall that are meant to be makeshift boat bumpers are loose and provide very little protection from scratching the boat or banging into the underneath of the sea wall.

Great Location on the Water in Key Colony Beach

The house is in a great location on the canals in Key Colony Beach. We rented a 22 foot boat from All Aboard Boat Rentals for a few days and the dock had enough space for it - but a larger boat will not fit. The house is old, but has been updated with an addition that has added more space internally for a dining area. The house was clean when we arrived, but there were some things were not working, a few of the ceiling fans did not work and the barbeque on the lanai is old and rusted out and needs to be replaced. The biggest disappointment was the lanai shade that extents out from the house does not work. The back yard faces West and the afternoon sun blasts directly into house. Its unbearable to sit outside during the afternoon, and you have to close all the window & sliding door shades to keep the house cool. Fortunately the A/C works great and keeps the house cool during all hours of the day. The house is a short 10 minute drive to grocery stores, gas stations and restaurants - that's due to the 25 mph speed limit in the canal neighborhoods. We highly recommend the Island Fish Company for lunch or dinner, its a loud place but the food and service is excellent. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Key Colony Beach house.

Clean Comfortable Convenient

Enjoyed our stay. Home is well equipped for a kick back vacation but also convenient to attractions and fishing. Patio is nice for watching the boats go by but could use some shade for comfort in the afternoon.

Great little duplex in Key Colony!

The duplex is just how it looks in the pictures - I liked the open living room and kitchen area, and the rooms were nice sizes. The bathrooms are a little tight but exactly as pictured (and as to be expected in the standard duplex in Key Colony). Overall we really enjoyed the property - too bad it was so windy we didn't get to use our boat!

Two brothers and Dad reunion

The house was perfectly suited for for our stay. A short drive/walk to the pool/beach and bar. Also close to grocery stores, dining options. Overall a wonderfully relaxing accommodation with great canal view with easy access to the ocean in two directions.
