This was our third stay at this property, and we loved it just as much this time! The privacy, views, and even neighbors we visited with from across the river make it the best place on the Frio!

House ReviewWe had a wonderful stay! The house is tucked away in a peaceful, private rural area, which was perfect for our family and pets. The river was just a short drive away, and we practically had it all to ourselves! The water was beautiful and perfect for enjoying the day.We had such a great time and would definitely recommend staying here. Christy was also wonderful—she was quick to respond anytime I had questions. We would definitely stay here again!

The view was incredible off the front balcony. The house is on a small hill overlooking the valley below. The river access was just a few minutes walk down the driveway and was really pretty. My kids really enjoyed playing at the river and skipping rocks and the town of Leakey is adorable and SO friendly. The house itself is small and older, but totally fine for our size party. The kitchen has been recently redone and was REALLY well stocked. It’s a little bit of a hike to Leakey, about 8 miles, but it was super quiet and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The hosts were super great about communication when we had a hard time getting in the door. FOLLOW the directions to the house that are given. My father in laws GPS took them right to the house, ours went a few miles down the road and it was in the middle of the night, so it was hard to find, but had we just followed the directions given, we would have been fine!We had a great stay!!

Lawn needed mowing. Access to river was not very accessible. Definitely not a place to expect to be able to float the river.

Our description notes that this stretch of the river is not intended for floating or tubing and recommends visiting the river outfitters near ConCan if you're looking for a tubing or floating experience. We describe our river access as a place to relax in the water, enjoy the scenery, and a spot that many families with younger children appreciate. We understand that different guests are looking for different river experiences, and we're sorry ours wasn't what you were hoping for. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

The place was amazing. The view was beautiful every morning. We enjoyed a cup of coffee, me and my wife the only but I would say is that the river was not as available as assumed my daughter had a broken leg and it was not easy to get to the river with all the rocks to get there.

The unit was exceptionally clean. The wife and I were amazed at how well kept it was even though they allow pets. We had a very relaxing time the four days we were there.

Dark Skies was GREAT!

This vacation home has everything you could possibly need. We loved our stay, the stars on that deck at night are AWESOME!! The private river access was nice for the kids to play. Just a short drive to Garner State Park to float the river. We would definitely stay again!

Check-in was super easy and directions to the cabin were very helpful. Christy, our host, was extremely responsive to our questions and requests. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to be back as soon as possible! The stargazing and wildlife were spectacular. The crazy rains prevented us from enjoying river time, but it’s very nice private access.

Wonderful stay!

Great location, amazing views, and perfect river access for little ones. The house had everything we needed for us to enjoy our stay. The private river access was clean and clear, our kids had a blast and it was perfect for us adults to sit and relax. Looking forward to returning next year!

Perfect Memorial Weekend getaway!

We wanted a peaceful, relaxing weekend away from realty and we got it. The weather was perfect for us and the cabin has all the amenities we needed. The views ARE spectacular! We enjoyed the river which was just a short walk away. We had a fabulous stay! Thanks for offering your beautiful cabin to us.

Beautiful hill country home

We had a great time at this property. The view is amazing and the location is very peaceful. Very close to the Frio river access and we had the river all to ourselves. The property was also very well equipped in the kitchen and the charcoal grill and fire pit were great. WiFi was great too.

Great house

My family of 5 stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it. The house was perfect for us. We had access to the river which we used multiple times a day. The surroundings were quiet and allowed for us to unplug and do things together. Great area to walk or hike.

Quiet Getaway

Nice quiet getaway in Leakey. Nicely located to the Frío river and other activities. The view is great. Beds are comfortable. The kitchen is stocked. There is a swim hole near by. Our family had a nice time. We tubed down the frío, went to Joe Jimmy's dancing and went into town for some items and coffee at Josh's.
