The best setup ive seen in a while for multi family vacationing with dogs. We couldnt be more happy and will be returning. The fenced in front/back yard with a beach front river access were highlights for our pupps.

This place is absolutely perfect! Covered porch overlooking the river with park like setting at the river. Home is well stocked. Our family absolutely loved this place and will be returning.

Great house!

The photos don’t do it justice! The house is super nice and fully stocked with anything you need for the perfect stay!! We had a great time and will definitely be back!

Wonderful

Stayed here 3 years in a row and it will continue to be a place we stay. Love the location and the river front. It’s peaceful and perfect for families with young children.

Ramirez Fall Trip

Location was great! We had the best time and were able to see beautiful fall foliage. Spent Thanksgiving with our family and the kids had an amazing time. Would love to be back in the summer. House was perfect for all.

Amazing Getaway

Very quiet. Very peaceful. Would for sure book there again. Nice place for our dog to wonder around. River access is perfect and the Frio is always clear water. They provide a ton of toys for all ages to play. Highly recommend this place.

Love this place

We came last year and enjoyed it so much we decided to come again this year. The property changed owners and the new owners were kind enough to allow us to keep our reservation even though I’m sure it was inconvenient for them. We love the access to the river and that it’s shallow but deepens as you go up or down stream. It’s really the perfect setup for parents with children. We plan to come every year.

Our favorite getaway to relax!

This is the second time we go and we gotta say it’s our favorite getaway! Everything is in the back yard and you could just bum around all day and make long lasting memories! Fully stocked kitchen with paper towels pots pans towels… there’s an electric grill outside which makes for easy and quick cooking at one point we’re throwing daggers at the tree, making s’mores, kayaking, slipping down a wet slide and relaxing in the sun while the kids loved playing in the sand! Highly recommend!

Awesome river front home

Perfectly relaxing! The container house is amazing and the covered porch overlooking the river is perfect. Large fenced in yard for the kids or your pups… park like setting al the way down to the river…. Well manicured and couldn’t imagine a better place for the family to enjoy playing in the water. We didn’t see a single person or dog on the river so very private and relaxing. We will definitely go back…

Terrific property, excellent stay. Our group of seven (4 adults, 3 kids) were so pleased, and so comfortable. The house and property are spacious. Tons of kitchen space that allowed us to make scratch tamales. The riverfront and river access are terrific. The long grassy slope down to the river aids accessibility. We made liberal use of the kayaks and taught the 3 kids (and 1 adult!) to solo on the flat, calm river. Fire pit on the river bank was ready for use…a real hit. Location is perfect for stargazing. Host instructions were simple and clear; communication v.good. Property accepts pets, and our little older chi had the time of her life. The upstairs and downstairs are connected by external staircase, which was perfectly fine. Curtains for downstairs would have been nice, but no one complained. Expect little to no cell service, but complimentary wifi was good enough (and we were there to “disconnect” anyway.) Everyone was sad to leave … 10/10…would again

Everything was great.We really enjoyed the extra ammenities including the kayaks. Our only problem was that we were given the wrong address? You need to provide a direct cell and email for contact. We had to go knocking on doors to find the property. We were told 6582 and the correct address is 6550!

G’s frio trip

Easy check in. House as advertised and more. We basically only needed to bring food. The water area was perfect for my 21/2 year old grandson. He could play on the beach area and in the water with his float coat on. We were always close at hand but didn’t have to hover over him. Close day trips to Garner and utopia. We’ll be back

Not what we expected

The property is hidden and you can't see it from the street.... never arrive after dark. And there are NO tvs and NO wifi

Jazmin I’m sorry your stay was not what you expected There is wifi, while I’m not sure why it wouldn’t work for you we have had no other issues with it nor issues with guests finding the house There are no TVs inside the the house but there is one big one on the patio outside, the house and amenities are exactly as shown in the photos

Great Spring Break!

We had a wonderful trip here. Our family took full advantage of every amenity. Even though the water was cold the kids still got in it with floats. The firepit by the water was perfect for s'mores. We also enjoyed the tv on patio with heater. And grilled steaks on the grill. In the kitchen we had everything and more that we needed. All of the fixtures, appliances are very nice. The décor of the home is not standard, very nice. We came here to go to Garner State Park...not long drive at all. Will definitely return.

Perfect Location

Great House on the river. The house is well stocked with all you need to be more than comfortable. Tons of water toys, chairs, fishing rods, etc. You can leave everything at home and enjoy your friends and family here. In fact, the wifi went down while we were there and we hardly missed it. The owner was in immediate contact once I let me know about the issue and handle the best he could on a weekend. If I'm being honest it was one of the best things to happen while we were there. It made us all realize that we don't need our screens or wifi to enjoy the best places we are fortunate enough to visit. We could have stayed a whole week without wifi.

2024 Eclipse Vacation

The property was beautiful, peaceful and well equipped. Great place to take an entire family including your dogs. The fenced in yard was perfect for the dogs to be 'free' and safe. The kitchen was well equipped and plenty of towels for bathing as well as river. Washer, dryer and all appliances were easy to use and very helpful. As a previous review indicated the air fresheners in the house were a bit overwhelming. We were able to unplug them all immediately and the air neutralized after a few hours. Kitchen can openers did not work very well. Cell service for our verizon phones did not work in the area - wifi was helpful. Overall great experience - definitely plan to re-book for future vacations.

Beautiful but many issues

The property is absolutely beautiful. The location is amazing and great for both kids and adults. However, the fridge did not work the entire trip and we brought food to cook the entire stay. We had to haul food up and down the stairs each meal, 3x per day. Had to keep drinks/meat/snacks iced at all times. The owner did reimburse us for ice we bought. The A/C unit was not running properly and would get up to 86 upstairs each day. The owners did not give a discount or remove any fees on our stay. Had everything worked properly, it would be worth every penny! However, with all the inconveniences, we expected they would discount a little or take off one of the fees. Would recommend checking with them to be sure things are working properly prior to booking.

Beautiful property right on the river

We enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful property with everything needed for a good time. Nice water access, very comfortable inside, outside patio area was nice, with plenty of lighting, games, water toys, fishing supplies, seating, & bbq. The house was fully stocked. If you forget something, they probably have it, if not there are a few stores not too far away. There is a highway close by that is noisy, and neighbors close by, but it didn’t spoil our time here. Beautiful yard from back door all the way down to the water. Lots of shade by the river. Fenced front & backyard for the dog. The kids enjoyed playing football and wiffle ball in the open space. We didn’t use the downstairs quarters that is separate from the upstairs, but it was nice to have for downstairs restroom and fridge since we hung out downstairs most of our trip. If you want to do some hiking, I’d recommend one of the state parks not too far away. The kayaks were a total hit for us. We went as far as we could go in both directions. House was clean and no bugs for us. We went during a burn ban so we weren’t able to use the nice fire pit down by the river. That would have been a big hit, but I do think it would be nice to have a fire pit near the back patio since a lot of time is spent there. It may have also helped with the flying gnats. 5 stars. We enjoyed it here.

Heaven on earth

This place is absolutely beautiful. It has everything you need. Can’t think of 1 thing it didn’t have that I would have needed. I’m so use to taking things we normally need & aren’t provided. I can honestly say I didn’t ‘have’ to use any of it however I did since I brought it. The house was nice, the patio was huge & came equipped with everything: bbq pits, gas burners, etc. games, kayaks, floats, fishing equipment & more. The fenced in yard was a nice size & there was also a very large section outside the fence leading down to the river. THE RIVER! The river was absolutely my heaven on earth. There was a fire pit, table with chairs & cushions, a couple of lounge chairs & 2 hammock stands. The hammocks were kept in the downstairs room but they were very easy to handle & hang. I did take a low beach chair to sit in the river & I would still be there if I could 😊. I had my coffee sitting by the river every morning listening to nature & soaking in all of God’s beauty! It was definitely a 10/10! Now, the only hiccup we had, & I say hiccup cause I wasn’t upset about it at all😆 was we couldn’t get the WiFi to work & there is absolutely NO service at that location. The only reason I would have liked to have it was because we have 2 daughters & they brought 3 friends with us. It would have been nice to have been able to have constant contact with their parents in case of emergencies. It never came to that & we went to town to stay in contact! Next trip can’t come soon enough!

The property is absolutely fantastic. A great location, absolutely beautiful and quiet place on the river front. I thoroughly enjoyed just setting by the river and enjoying the peacefulness under the cypress trees without crowds of people around. The house is very unique and provides everything you could need. Water floats, grills, games, etc. It has a great setup for 2 families, a great fenced yard for having your dogs, and wonderful spot for hanging out under the covered porch. I would absolutely stay here again.The things I would recommend would be adding reflective window tint and curtains to the upstairs living area. It gets extremely hot during the summer, and the sun hits directly on the living room/kitchen windows during the hottest part of the day and it heats up inside very quickly.The other issue is the downstairs room was full of moisture, even dripping from the ceiling. Part of this may be from the metal ceiling, but a dehumidifier may help. It has a very strong moisture/mildew smell inside.
