Perched near the top of Sugar Mountain at almost 5,000 feet, Sugar Mountain Escape delivers unobstructed, year-round mountain views from a private hot tub, three separate decks, and a wood-burning fire pit tucked into the trees. Inside, vaulted wood ceilings, two separate living rooms, and a lower-level pool table give a group of up to 8 room to spread out and settle in — and with the Sugar Mountain Ski Resort shuttle stopping right at the door, the slopes are minutes away no matter how the snow looks on the driveway.
Sleeping & Space — Sleeps 8
• Main-Level King Suite: king bed, HD Smart TV, en-suite bath with a large step-in shower, and private glass doors to a quiet rear deck.
• Upstairs Queen Bedroom: queen bed, vaulted ceilings, HDTV with Blu-ray player, and mountain views.
• Lower-Level Sleeping Area: queen bed in a private additional bedroom, ideal for a third couple or extra family.
• Loft Nook: a queen pull-out sleeper next to a cozy game table for cards and puzzles.
• Main-Level Den: a sleeper sofa (sleeps 2) in a second living space.
• 2 full bathrooms plus 1 half bath.
Living & Entertaining
• An open-concept living room with soaring vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, and an HD Smart TV.
• A gourmet kitchen with granite counters, stainless steel appliances, and a center island topped with a live-edge wood slab; the dining table seats 8.
• A second living room/den for overflow lounging, movie nights, or keeping the kids' noise separate from the adults. Board games and puzzles are fully stocked.
• A lower-level game room with a pool table — perfect for a rainy afternoon or an après-ski evening.
• A loft reading and puzzle nook tucked under the eaves, inclusive of a dedicated workstation.
Outdoor Living
• A private hot tub on the lower deck with panoramic mountain views.
• Multiple decks and seating areas for sunrise coffee, sunset drinks, or stargazing — a mounted spotting scope is included for a closer look at the ridgeline.
• A wood-burning fire pit tucked into the trees below the house.
• A gas grill and a shaded front porch.
Location
Minutes from Sugar Mountain Ski Resort — walk to the slopes, or ride the Sugar Mountain Ski Resort shuttle door-to-door and skip the walk in one direction or both (search "SkiSugar" for shuttle routes and schedules). Also close to Banner Elk (5 miles), Grandfather Mountain (9 miles), Lees-McRae College (6 miles), Boone (14 miles), Blowing Rock (16 miles), Valle Crucis (13 miles), Beech Mountain Ski Resort and Hawksnest Snow Tubing & Zip Lines (10 miles), and Appalachian Ski Mountain (19 miles).

Two dogs are welcome with your reservation for an additional fee.
Good to Know
• The driveway is steep and gravel. All-wheel or 4-wheel drive is strongly recommended; if you don't have one, park toward the top of the driveway rather than the bottom. Rear-wheel-drive vehicles should back in and park near the top; front-wheel-drive vehicles should pull in facing downhill, also near the top.
• At this elevation, air conditioning is rarely needed. We provide a few portable units that can cool a large room or area on warmer days.
• The living room's stone fireplace is decorative and not available for guest use.
• The garage is reserved for the owner's storage and is not accessible to guests.
