Easier on the wallet

Our stay at this residence was comfortable. The house had most needed items one tends to forget while traveling. The location was centered for our daily excursions. Uber and Uber eats had no problem finding the address. The daily rate was lower than most but the accommodations were nice, not subpar. Communication with the owner was quick and complete.

Cozy Anchorage Home

The rental had everything we needed for us and our 2 adult sons for our trip. They even provided a few necessities in case we forgot some things. The house is a bit older but the bathrooms have been updated and it was plenty warm for those of us from the lower 48! It was close to the base we were visiting and other great activities. We would definitely stay again!

One Start is Too Much

This place was dirty. The kitchen cupboards have old grease on them. The cooking pans were covered in old grease. The BBQ looked like it had never been cleaned. They're wasn't a comfortable place to sit in the whole house. One couch was split at the seams and you can feel the springs starting to poke through the fabric. The rails on the kitchen slider were filthy. This place was disgusting.

Decent place

Overall it worked for our needs. The place is spacious and with 4 of us and a child everyone felt comfortable and not cramped at all. The place is rather outdated, beds, furniture, carpeting all rather aged but it had everything we needed to be comfortable . Plenty of towels etc.

Stay in Anchorage

The property felt fairly clean but as previous reviews have stated had an odor which I guess is understandable in an older house in a rainy climate. The kitchen was nice but had odd items in the refrigerator and cabinet. Much of which was expired food. It felt like you were spending some time in a friend's place, not a property that is meant for renters only. The description isn't clear that you have to walk up a full flight of stairs to get into the property. Luckily we had strong, young family members with us to help us get the heavy luggage up the stairs. The description states there are three parking spaces, but we had one as a truck was parked in the driveway. Not a big deal since there is street access to parking.

Short 2 day stay in Anchorage

We had to get Mr. Larry's phone number from VRBO because we were not given the door code ahead of time. We arrived at 4:05, check in was supposed to be ready at 4, but we noticed with our VRBO's in Alaska that people don't give the information early, and that is a little frustrating. When we called Mr. Larry, he was a little startled and did give us the code and he was nice; I think he may have forgotten which day we were checking in. There were plenty of dishes, towels, etc. It was nice and quiet. There are no room darkening blinds or curtains and some of the blinds are older and bent. Because they are white...it was definitely too light for sleeping. Fortunately we had masks but it was still slightly difficult for sleeping. Thankful for the laundry area and large kitchen area as we were 2 couples. This is an older property; one of the sofas was heavily worn -could use some updates, but again it was a good place to sleep.

Alaska house

We had a great time staying in this home. We ventured all around Alaska and were comfortable returning to this home for our nightly stays!

Not for everyone

This property was clean and the kitchen well stocked with condiments and such. There was a noticeable smell, animal dander or possibly something else that irritated my children’s allergies and we had to rebook else where.

Good Property

Overall, it is a nice place to stay. The property is showing it’s age and could use some updates. The neighborhood is a bit run down but consistent for the area. Larry was very communicative and that was appreciated. We would consider staying here, again.

Stayed here while attending my daughter's wedding.

At first glance this home is very nice. Upon closer inspection it is obviously well used and also well maintained. Everything worked properly and the kitchen was decently stocked with utensils for cooking. All in all a pleasant stay for my family.

Stressful and inadequate checkin

The property is old and outdated but was accurately described on VRBO and was clean. The poor rating is because a week before we arrived I reached out to confirm everything and let him know what time we would be to the rental. I was told I would get the code when I got there. After traveling all day from Southern California, we got to the property and no one was home downstairs, the phone number didn’t allow messages and it took about 3 hours to get the entry code. This was after I called VRBO for help and they couldn’t reach the owner either. He did apologize but the stress of feeling stranded with nine people for a few hours made the day very unpleasant.

The Neighborhood has changed a lot in 50 years.. With Glenn Highway a block away and downtown only 7 minutes away you can satisfy the most discriminating taste. Go North to the Army base/ Wasilla or Denali, this home is a great location to access whatever the desire.
