Bella Vista House is located just 15 minutes west of Downtown Durango, Colorado:). The property is adjacent to the stunning San Juan National Forest with outstanding Snow Capped Mountain Views! Unique & perfectly situated near historic Durango. Explore Mesa Verde and Hesperus Ski area just 5 minutes from Bella Vista! Stunning home w a large open floor plan including an incredible gourmet kitchen with all the amenities. Home has an upstairs private bedroom with a queen size bed, T.V and private bathroom. Main floor has a King size bed located on a former stage surrounded with privacy curtains + private T.V with access to a full bathroom. Another queen size bed is situated on the main floor with awesome views of the stars at night, (this bed is in the expansive living room with a privacy screen). A magnificent Baby Grand Piano is located in the Living room for any pianists in your party. Bella Vista is equipped with a large screen T.V, lots of stylish and comfortable seating as well as a futon and sofa sleeper + dining table & chairs. Home provides linens, towels, coffee machine, toaster and an outside barbecue grill. Upon entering this unique home you will say "Wow" at the Panoramic Snow Capped Mountain Views! Outstanding views & location. Excellent kitchen facilities. Great restaurant down the road - should plan on eating there one night. Host very accommodating & easy to work with.

Beautiful place to stay!! Open living & dining areas were very nice so all could visit and spend time together. Kitchen is well equipped and even has a griddle. :) Host was very responsive and helpful.

The property is pretty much how described. There are 3 beds not necessarily 3 bedrooms but for us that wasn’t a big deal. We mainly got it for the view and location. The view is gorgeous. It is close to Mesa Verde and Durango which is where we wanted to be. Ron is a wonderful host. Very quick to respond and so polite.We would stay here again.

A very special location with Grand views! We enjoyed a very restful stay and appreciate the well cared for accommodations. My special treat was seeing my African Mural Diorama I created for the specially designed building many years ago is still adding delight to the feeling of the special place. The house was AWESOME with plenty of room as the living, dining & kitchen areas are spacious with a wall of windows with GORGEOUS VIEWS of the mountains. The neighbor was sweet and made us feel welcome. The only disappointment was that we could not get the oven to work, and we wished the bed in the living room also had curtains for privacy like the stage bed did. It’s an unusual set up yet worked fine for us. The homeowner was great and communicated well. Thank you!!!

This house has great Mountain Views and is in a very quiet, gated area. Close to Durango and Mesa Verde.

Mountain Retreat

A very comfortable place off the beaten path. But not too far. Stunning vista and immersed in beautiful countryside. The full kitchen was great. As well as easy access to go and explore.

Cool place!!

It is a very unique property. Pictures definitely do not do it justice. Very easy to get to and an awesome view! Highly recommend for a family not really needing private rooms.

One of the kind place

see stars from the bed on stage! You don’t need to be sitting outdoor to embrace the outdoor views. Great for family that doesn’t need a lot of privacy. Easy access to la plata canyon, best place to stay near mesa verde while still have mountains instead of dessert scenery.

Even better than the photos!

This place is fabulous! The mountain views through the three-story windows are terrific. Excellent kitchen and other amenities. Close to Durango and other sites. Property manager is very responsive. We had so much fun hanging out in the main room and just enjoying the space.

This is really an event hall repurposed as a place to sleep, so it’s very open concept. I would recommend for a family or smaller group that is ok with limited privacy! That being said, the views are gorgeous, the property is quiet, and the kitchen is spacious. The large fireplace was so nice to sit around at night. The taxidermy display is odd, but can be fun if you’re ok with a bit of kookiness. We did have the unfortunate timing of staying when the septic system was backed up so the sewage smell was disappointing and frustrating.

House had an amazing view of the mountains. Furniture and kitchen a bit dated and bed locations are odd as they are in the living room. But view was good.

Comfortable with Pretty views

This property was larger than I expected but in the sense of openness. The main room is large and open and has a beautiful view of the mountains. It snowed 16-18 inches and it made for gorgeous scenery. There was a restaurant about 2 miles down that road that was pretty darn good. I recommend this place if you have a 6-10 group.

We enjoyed our stay, the listing presented the beds as separate bedrooms, but they are in open space. Going forward, maybe advertise as no bedrooms but beds in open space.

We do advertise Bella Vista as an “Open” Floor Plan It definitely has 1 bedroom upstairs that is totally private. Perhaps Carolyn did not find the upstairs bedroom???

Sword of truth ranch

First of all the pictures on VRBO do NOT do this property justice!! As soon as we entered the house we were blown away at the amazing log work inside the home as well as the views from inside!! I joked with my wife that the house was overkill for just the two of us but we ended up having a fantastic experience overall!! Love this house and will definitely look into it again in the future!!

Wonderful View

This property is stunning on the views. It is comfortable. The only thing is it only has one bedroom and it’s hot. The other two beds are in the living room. One bed is on a stage (use to be a dance hall). There is no railing down the stairs which is not good for older people. All in all we had a good time. We did have a bat in the roof. He didn’t really bother us too bad.

The view is quite fantastic, and the great room and kitchen were great. However, this is not a home with 3 bedrooms, this is a reception hall with one bedroom (small) and two other beds (one on the stage, and another in the foyer)! Thank goodness we did not have guests with us, how embarrassingly awkward that would have been.Also, there are multiple light switches that do nothing, perhaps not working. We were never able to turn on main light fixture in the great room. The first light we found (having arrived after dark) was one that lite up a mountain lion taxidermy. SCARRY!! if not for my husband, I would have left. No pre or forewarning on that massive display was a shock.

Dear Rosemary, The property description does not show 3 bedrooms. This is the description: Home has an upstairs private bedroom with a queen size bed, T.V and private bathroom. Also, Photo #7 shows the lion and other animals. You mentioned you were surprised about them being in the house. You might want to look at all of the photos on the website before making accusations that are untrue. Re. light switches. All of the light switches connect to lights. There are switches below the dimmer switches. Not sure why that was a problem. I have rented this house for over 8 years and not once did any guest have trouble with any of your complaints in your review. It might be a good idea for you to study the next house you rent through VRBO.
