Welcome to Our Adorable Front Porch Cottage, Offering 2 levels of great comfort and all within walking distance to the Beach and Main Attractions in Colonial Beach VA! We are a Pet Friendly Cottage with a fully fenced in gated yard, shaded with a comfortable sitting area on The Front Porch. Come bring your pet and your family for relaxing and enjoyable Small Town Beach experience! The Cottage sleeps 4 , offers a comfortable Living Room with smart TV, Internet, Full Kitchen, Washer, Dryer, Full Bath with Tub Shower Combo and Two Bedrooms, one queen and two twin beds on the Upper level both with smart TV's. We are located 3 blocks from the Main Beach Attractions, Golf Cart Community and you may visit Colonial Beach Attractions to rent your kayaks, paddle boards, bikes and The Beach Center for your Golf Cart. The Cleaning Fee includes full linens for bedding and bath for your Rental. The Kitchen is supplied with everything you need for a comfortable stay!

Great location, very clean

We only stayed 1 out of our 2 nights. The bed was very very hard and I didn’t want to sleep on it again. Location was perfect and the property was clean.

Good enough

Overall it was fine and the location was ideal. The place was fairly clean but I really hope the owners will replace the ac units because they look like they have mold. (If you have any respiratory issues I’d skip this one). It also wasn’t clear the the place is a duplex not a stand alone property. It was a great location, 6 minute walk to the beach. The bed needs a mattress topper though because it’s very stiff and the kitchen could use some bigger pots and pans. If you plan to cook you’ll need to bring your own spices and cook supplies (oh and the toaster didn’t work). For the price I’m not mad but they could definitely make some small changes to make this place worth it. Also this isn’t the owners fault but there’s a “let’s go Brandon flag“ two door down and a LOT of trump flags (although some pride flags). We didn’t necessarily feel in danger but we definitely felt uncomfortable so factor that in when you’re thinking about coming to colonial beach.

Smell and dirty/moldy A/C

The home smelled terribly of moth balls and febreze, which made us concerned of what it was trying to mask. The A/C unit in the large bedroom upstairs was dirty and looked moldy, so we didn’t use it to avoid breathing that in. We looked into getting a hotel once we found that but there wasn’t one available nearby. Additionally, the mattress was very hard and seemed to be covered in plastic because it was very loud too. Grout between the floor tiles was coming out. The kitchen was missing some basics like mixing bowls. Photos were accurate, there was just a lot that photos can’t show that made the stay very disappointing, including concerns about our health from the air.

Black Mold in the Air conditioners - No Bedding

This place is beautiful, on the surface. There was Black Mold in the AC Units and no real bedding. I would love to speak to the owners, but that info isn't even available. Also my Daughter and Finace we there and the cleaning crew walked in on them at 11am. Contract said Check out was by 1pm. If you read this, owners- please call me at 571 214 0156

Cottage Getaway

We love the Colonial Beach area. We find artifacts, shark's teeth, fish and swim. Great places to eat as well. The Cottage was in a perfect location to access all that we did.

Great location!

Great little house for our family of 3. Nice walk to the beach, quick walk to the Ice House Brewery. Everything in the house house was exactly as pictured and described. Loved the fenced in yard for our dog baby.

This was an amazing place to stay in. The location was close to everything! The amenities were exactly as described (although the queen bed is quite firm).

Cozy and covenient

If you have a dog this a great place as it has a fenced yard. Bathroom is downstairs and rooms are upstairs... tall people watch your head. Easy walk to bayside restaurants.

Great location in Colonial Beach!

My husband and I booked a short trip to listen to friends play music at the Ice House Brewery. When we first got there, the place was freezing and the heat wasn’t working. The Property Manager was very responsive and fortunately, there was a small electric heater that did the job until she could come out the next morning. One thing, though, the queen bed is rock hard. It was quite uncomfortable. The other thing is that the bathroom is on the main level but both bedrooms are upstairs, which is a bit inconvenient for us older folks. It is also a duplex and next door there are several appliances on the front porch, but they were quiet. There is a small fenced yard and my dog was allowed, so that’s all we needed. Oh, and no dishwasher.

Off Season Stay

Considering it was an off season stay, I felt the price point was a bit high. This really hit home when we tried to do activities in the area and many things aren't open until April. There is a propane furnace on the first floor but no smoke detector on the first floor. There are detectors in bedrooms but if the smoke is getting that far, it would be too late. There is a CO detector in kitchen and one in each bedroom. When in the home, there were many things that were outdated, dingy, broken (floor tiles), chipped countertops. There were also only 2 coffee mugs, one of which was dirty when I took it out of the cabinet on the first morning. The queen size bed is FIRM. My arms and hands went to sleep each night and my lower back is going to bother me for days. At a minimum, the place did its job. I had a place to cook a few meals, sleep, and shower but have absolutely no plans to return or even recommend the place.

Annual trip to colonial beach

This is a no frills place to stay. Is convenient to main attractions in Colonial Beach. Coffee shop nearby which was good as this was first place we have rented that had coffee maker but no coffee! Most places have this as a convenience for guests. We spent little time at house but would say furniture was less comfortable than other places. Very hard mattress!

Family Trip

The property was beautiful. Everything was great. a few minute walk to the beach. The area was quiet. Close to Washington D.C.. Just an absolute wonder trip. If we are ever back that way would definitely rent again

Great stay

The property was nice great location. I didn’t know the property was a duplex. And the back walkway needed repair. The front porch needed TLC. I can say it was great for the money and the inside was very clean

Wonderful Time!

We loved this place so much, we came twice in one month. Loved the fenced-in area for our dog, the large kitchen, and the location can't be beat...close to everything fun in Colonial Beach. We hope to be back this summer!

Cute but needs better mattress

Cute little duplex. Was caught off guard by the duplex part and that the neighbor was working on his truck in the back yard. No issues there though at all. The bathroom is downstairs which is inconvenient, but because the mattresses were like boards I ended up just sleeping on the couch dowstairs anyway. Only complaint really is the mattress. It was as hard as the floor and I am not exaggerating. I informed the property manager so hopefully it gets replaced. Otherwise it was a cute spot in a great location.

Home away from Home

The cottage is really nice. Full size washer and dryer and front porch for enjoying the fresh air have been my favorites. Pet friendly. Even out of town I was able to reach the property manager when a plumbing issue arose and have resolution within hours. Do I have any dislikes .....well one drawback for me was having stairs, hey face it I am clumsy and knew it wouldn't be long before I descended the stairs on my butt instead of my feet (lol), personal issue. Would highly recommend for a small family.
