We really appreciate you recognizing our communication and responsiveness, even over a busy holiday weekend. We take cleanliness seriously, so we want to address this directly. As soon as you flagged the odor, we sent our team out the next day, and when you let us know the smell persisted, we sent them right back out to address it further. The home is professionally cleaned and sanitized between every stay, with freshly laundered linens for each guest. The game room is located in the basement, below ground level, which can make musty smells more noticeable and slower to fully clear, especially with trash bins stored there. We're taking a closer look to make sure that space gets the extra attention it needs. We do want to note that Yosemite Corner is one of our most in-demand homes and stays booked nearly back-to-back throughout the summer season, so it's far from sitting unused. That level of use, paired with the limited windows of time between guests during peak season, means updates and refreshes are carefully scheduled during a short turnover window. The living room rug you saw has actually already been replaced, as we like to refresh rugs on a regular basis to keep the home feeling fresh. Yosemite Corner is a genuine mountain cabin, and while it does have some older, dated touches, we make sure that's reflected in the nightly rate compared to newer builds in the area. We think that's part of what makes it such a strong value for the location, amenities, and overall charm it offers. For guests who'd prefer something newer or more modern on a future trip, we're always happy to help point you toward one of our other homes, just let us know what you're looking for. For cooking, our housekeeping team leaves out salt, pepper, and cooking spray as a starting point. Beyond that, we recommend guests bring any specific spices, foil, or other items that are crucial to the success of their meals. One small note: the previous homeowners never had a dishwasher, so we added it as a bonus for our guests to add some convenience.
