I wasn't sure what to expect; online pictures only tell you so much. The house exceeded my expectations. We arrived in the summer, and it was very hot, mid 90's, during the first week, and I was concerned whether the house would stay cool. The mini-split units in the bedrooms were more than sufficient to the task of keeping us cool, and even the central living room never really got hot, so that worked out great. We enjoyed the view of the mountain from the back porch, and found ourselves spending almost every meal out on the back porch, enjoying breeze and the mountain view. Kitchen was easy to use with the nice induction oven. Taking strolls around the pleasant small neighborhood was a nice activity as well. The owner was responsive to my questions and helpful regarding a couple of special requests I had. House highly recommended.

Extremely disappointing experience. The host was completely unresponsive for several hours when we urgently needed access to and assistance with the property. Because we could not use the rental as intended, we were forced to book and pay for a separate hotel room in order to carry out activities we had already scheduled around this reservation.We paid for a rental that we were unable to fully utilize, and then incurred an additional, completely unnecessary hotel expense because the host failed to respond in a timely manner. This resulted in us essentially paying twice for accommodations and caused significant disruption to our plans.The financial impact of this was substantial, but the lack of communication was equally unacceptable. When guests are paying for a property and arranging their plans around that reservation, they should be able to expect a responsive host when an issue arises. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.I would strongly caution future guests to consider the risk of being left without assistance when booking this property. We would not stay here again.

Delightful Durango

This was the BEST stay on whole 9 day adventure. Home was clean and guest information provided was excellent. My only regret was not staying here longer. Definitely want to come back and have a long stay here.

Beautiful home

This was a beautiful home with very spacious family room/kitchen/dining and very large bathrooms. Very clean and we had a fabulous time there as a family right after Christmas!

Great property. Clean and well maintained. Good location; between Durango, Purgatory Ski Resort, and the Durango hot springs on the corner, we couldn’t have been more pleased.

Lovely home

We enjoyed our stay. Home is outside of Durango, but not a bad drive at all. Across the highway from a nice grocery store. Enjoyed the a/c units in two of the bedrooms. Would highly recommend this home!!

Clean, well-appointed home in a beautiful location

This was our second time staying at Mike's home and it was wonderful. Communication with Mike is excellent and he takes extra steps to ensure a great stay--reaching out to see if we had any special requests before our arrival. We will be back!

The property was so clean and it was so well stocked with everything we needed. The gas fire pit and the gas grill worked well for our needs. And above all the views off of the back deck are just amazing. Location, what can one say, the hot springs just down the street and the downtown area just minutes away along with wild to mild rafting so close.

So very, very, clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked. The outside yard was gorgeous. Just wish we could have had more time to spend at the house. We loved all the amenities. Would definitely stay again. Thank you

Review

Excellent property and location. The only issue was the lack of air conditioning (at least we couldn’t figure out the AC) which occurred during a late summer heat wave.

Thomas, I installed the mini splint AC units for just The situation you experienced… the rare occasion when Durango has a heat wave. I’m sorry you couldn’t figure out the remote control. I wish you had called me. For next time, set Mode to Cool and use up or down arrow to set desired temperature. Thanks, Mike

Beautiful Home

We have had the most wonderful stay! This home is just perfect! The moment we walked in we felt at home. The furnishings and decor are pristine and SO BEAUTIFUL! I We hardly wanted to leave during our stay and we were more than a little sad to have to go home. Love love love! If we could give this rental more than 5 stars we would. We can’t wait to come back!"

Very enjoyable experience

The property was very clean and pleasant. Having dinnerware and kitchen utensils was wonderful as we cooked several meals there. It took us a bit to get the hang of using the stove and adjusting temperatures. Mike was very quick to respond when we had trouble getting on the internet.

Wonderful home!

Wonderful home. We stayed 3 nights and attended our nieces' wedding. We were just minutes from the wedding venue. The house was very clean and well supplied. Lovely outdoor patio with a great fire pit. Peaceful and beautiful neighborhood. We had 5 adults and one 19 month old (with host permission) and the house was very roomy and comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Mike is a great host. Thank you!

Great home!

The home was beautiful! The communication with the owner was excellent as they were extremely responsive. The pictures in the ad should be updated, however. As others have stated, the area is increasingly crowded, with the backyard patio of the nearest neighbor about 25 feet away, with new construction about 15 feet outside the master bedroom.

Clean, well-appointed home in a beautiful location

Mike's home is brand new, clean and well appointed. We had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio and the open living space is airy yet cozy. Communication with Mike was outstanding. He is incredibly responsive and thoughtful. He had coffee, cream, delicious treats from PJs gourmet grocery store and a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. (PJ's is across the highway from Mike's home.) Thanks for a great stay- we'll be back!

Clean and Homey!

Michael's property is brand new, incredibly clean, and perfect for three couples staying in Durango for an August wedding. One of the rooms does not have AC (which the listing specifies) but we didn't find that room to be too warm at all, even in middle-of-August! The Kitchen is stocked with a Mr. Coffee pot and has all the dishes and cooking supplies we needed to make breakfast. The laundry room was also stocked with Tide Pods so we were able to do Laundry. All of the instructions are included by the property owner in an easy-to-read manual and the host was responsive and accommodating! I searched pretty hard for the right property for our needs and we couldn't be happier with Michael's home! Plus all of the furnishings in the place are so fun and personal. I would not recommend staying here without a rental car or other vehicle.

It's the little things that count.

The home is very nice and comfortable. However many little things led us the 2 star rating. There is no cable or satellite for the tv's. While the listing does not say it has this, there was no misrepresentation, we believe access to network tv is very important. Streaming is fine but we really missed access to network only sports programming. Other little things that would have made our stay more pleasant: no hairdryer, only 1 hand towel in each bathroom, no tissues, no shower soap in 1 bathroom, no grill, fireplace didn't work, had to hunt for the welcome/instruction sheet (in utility room drawer), had to call for paper towels. We've stayed at many other VRBO rentals and have always been greeted by a welcome basket or welcome gift. Perhaps we've been spoiled but nothing like this awaited us in this home.

Please know that I have made numerous upgrades to address your comments: Guest binder with stay details, coffee bar with coffee/tea/sweeteners, hair dryers and multiple hand towels in each bathroom, soap/shampoo/conditioner provided. Perfect!

This house is probably one of the nicest, cleanest, well supplied, and comfortable VRBO accommodation we have ever rented. Our group felt very much at home and appreciated being able to relax and gather outside on the deck after a busy day of touring. I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the Durango area.

Great location and well appointed

Communications and directions were great. Michael responded promptly to any of our inquiries. Property is in a quiet neighborhood with easy access from the main highway. Property was spotless, well appointed and had most of the items one would need if cooking. Both bathrooms had double sinks and large counters. The stove was nice but read directions before using to reduce confusion of how to turn a burner on. Overall this is a great property for either a friends or family group.
