Make yourself at home in North Tacoma! Enjoy a stay in our private basement suite-and take in the gorgeous water views on our shared deck!
The basement suite with bathroom is private, cozy, welcoming and spacious. Our neighborhood is friendly and walkable, near UPS, Proctor, Old Town, Stadium and Ruston Waterfront. Whether you’re visiting for business, traveling to explore a cool town, or visiting family...we have the place!

Private basement suite with sleeping arrangements as noted (Queen bed and an additional pull out sofa bed) and a private bathroom.
The house was built in 1928 and renovated most recently in 2018. The basement has a private entrance under the carport-when entering guests walk through a clean shop/garage area, through a laundry room and into the basement suite. The staircase up to the main house is locked for privacy. The suite has a mini fridge, microwave and Keurig for your convenience. Internet and TV are available as well as some family games, legos and matchbox cars if you come with littles. Hunker down in the quiet suite/venture out and explore/enjoy Tacoma no matter what the reason for your visit is!

The apt was clean, cozy, comfortable- wonderful decor. Host thought of all the small touches to make it a great stay. The deck is amazing- could sit there all day! Love this place and would recommend to anyone and would go back.

The view was astounding! Shannon was delightful and very helpful. The unit was impeccably decorated and very cozy. Parking under a carport is nice for those rainy Washington days. It's important to note that this is not a daylight basement. But the large family-shared deck is beautiful! It was in a great location, close enough to do things locally but also close to the I-705 freeway, which connects to I-5. It's a wonderful place and a good choice.

We had a great visit and were happy with the ease of our accommodations. The basement suite was small but just what we needed for a place to call home while we attended a family wedding and enjoyed exploring the surrounding area!

Was in town for business again, and this is a great central location to stay. Owners were great, and accommodations were excellent us usual.

Clean, relaxing and welcoming

This was a great spot to stay over for the evening after going to a concert at Point Defiance Park. It was super clean and welcoming. We all ale well and were refreshed for our next adventure the following day!

North Tacoma is the best place to stay, since it has the water, restaurants, views, and sport activities that we love! This place is so comfortable, clean, and relaxing, it's like our home away from home!😊

Best View in Tacoma

This place is amazing. Beautiful meticulous accommodations. You’ll especially love the location walkable to bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. We’ll def be back.

Great place for stay on business

Came in town for short stay on business. Loved the location and easy access to everywhere in the South Sound. Nice and quiet, and amenities and owners are top notch. Will use again. Five Stars.

This property is good but there are a couple down sides that really bothered me. It is a basement and the floors from the upstairs are noisy when the owner walks on them. The owner was playing music and laughing loud enough that we could hear it very easily in the basement until about 11:30pm. The deck, which is in the main picture, is upstairs next to their front door. When we got there in the evening they were already occupying it and playing their music and I really didn't want to share it with them and they probably not with us. I liked the view from the deck but it was useless to us. The other main complaint was the temperature control for the room. The central system that they control upstairs controls the basement temperature. We were not able to set a thermostat temperature for what we wanted. They provided wall heaters on outlets that had a temperature control but even being set on 90 degrees it still couldn't get thet temperature much above 70. It was probably 65 when we got there in the evenings. The temprapedic bed is worn out. I sat with my back against the head board and when I laid down I felt like my head was lower than my feet most of the night. I would have been happier with just a hotel

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry the suite wasn’t the right fit for your stay. As clearly noted in the listing, this is a private basement suite within a shared home, so some noise from upstairs can be expected, and the deck is also specifically listed as a shared space. We love our summer evenings on the deck as much as our guests do! The temperature is controlled from upstairs, and most guests appreciate how cool the suite stays during the summer. I wish you had let me know that you were uncomfortable, as I would have been happy to adjust the temperature immediately. I also appreciate the feedback on the mattress and will take a closer look at it. I’ve only been told it’s comfortable. I always encourage guests to reach out during their stay so I have the opportunity to address anything that may affect their comfort.

Lovely stay in North Tacoma

The apartment is cozy, well maintained, clean, warm, and inviting. It had everything I needed and then some! Shannon made the entire process very easy for me by being communicative and quick to reply. The house itself is beautiful and situated in a lovely part of the city.
