No words or pictures can do justice to the jaw-dropping beauty of this incredible mountain getaway, at 3,300 feet in elevation. From the rough-hewn log construction and hardwood floors, to the fully equipped kitchen. Stroll into the finely-furnished living room and you’ll find comfy spaces to enjoy conversation, perhaps in front of the stone wood burning fireplace and wood stove ( FREE FIRE WOOD IS PROVIDED ) or the 50” Smart LCD TV. Head down to the game room to watch the big game on Directv Satellite or challenge someone to an air hockey showdown or corn hole, or a game of bumper pool.

There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms with King size beds: One King bedroom is on the main floor and one King bedroom is on the ground level floor. The 3rd floor has 4 twin beds. Two beds are trundle beds that pull out from under two fixed twin beds.

This luxury property was designed to take full advantage of the awe-inspiring views of the surrounding mountains, including Mt. Mitchell, the highest peak east of the Mississippi. Two decks provide ample space for relaxing, grilling, or soaking in the thrilling views from your deluxe 5 person hot tub. A multitude of outdoor activities await, both on-site ( outdoor fire pit and free firewood is provided, and just a short walk to hiking trails on the creek ) and in nearby Black Mountain and Asheville, which offer stellar dining and shopping.

Local Attractions: Mitchell View at Highrock is centrally located to many of the Asheville area favorite attractions: Biltmore House, Grove Park Inn Spa, Downtown Asheville, Asheville Tourists, Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt. Mitchell State Park, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Lake James, French Broad River, Grandfather Mountain, Great Smokey Mountains National Park, Waterfalls, Hiking, White Water Rafting, Sliding Rock, Horse Back Riding, Golf, and Much Much More!

Our family had a great time, kids loved the cabin and would play downstairs while parents could relax on main floor. Far enough away to feel private but close enough to town and all sorts of sights. No complaints at all!

Stay was great! Kitchen well accommodated for cooking and the direct tv on all TVs were a definite perk. It rained pretty heavily for a majority of our stay so we were only able to enjoy the fantastic view briefly, but man, it was a great view. Also, due to the consecutive days of heavy rain, some of the road had partially washed out on the lower unpaved section of the mountain road - was really glad we had SUVs. Only call out would be that the large bedroom downstairs had not been cleaned under the bed for a while - lots of visible dust and even a bit of trash upon arrival. Same issue with the under the downstairs vanity sink. The rest of the house was spotless and smelled very clean and was welcoming. Will absolutely stay at this residence again.Lots of easy access to great food and grocery store nearby, Asheville a short drive. Highly recommend location.

Thank you for the nice review. I do have to be very transparent and call out the remark on a partial washout on a road. Not sure what or where you are actually referring to as I drove up to the property every day during the rain event to check on other cabins and there was absolutely no washout anywhere! This inaccurate information is really not needed for the area as the area recovered quickly from the storm 2 years ago. As described in the check in information, there is temporary road construction on part of the road and the contractors actually made it very passable (during the rain) and you absolutely do not need an suv to access the property. A regular 2 wheel drive vehicle works fine and the rain is actually very good for the roads as it helps pack down the gravel roads, creating a less chance of spinning on the gravel.....Also, I went to check under the bathroom vanity and did not see any dust under the 3 inch space between the floor and bottom side of the vanity. So not sure where that is coming from and why that would be put in the review. Just needed to be very transparent to those that are looking to book this little slice of heaven!

Perfect Family Get Away

The property and cabin were perfect for our family of 5 to relax and get away from our busy life. This cabin was the most well appointed cabin we have ever stayed in the U.S. Very highly recommend.

Great cabin at top of Black Mtn

Stayed for a long weekend. 1.5 mile dirt road to cabin does require AWD in winter. Great cabin and beautiful views!

Thank you for the 5 star review! Just to be clear, two wheel drive works fine unless it snows, then you would need 4 wheel or all wheel drive. This is well advertised in the listing as well in the communication with guests when they make a booking. If it snows anywhere in the mountains, you will always need 4 wheel or all wheel drive....Just wanted to be transparent!

Amazing Secluded Cabin

Perfectly located minutes away from Asheville but far enough away to get a real cabin in the woods. Mike’s a great guy and we had an amazing time relaxing after long days of recreation.

A Real Stunner!

Our stay in Black Mountain was amazimg! The views were absolutely stunning, and the cabin was cozy and peaceful! We had plenty of space to move around and have individual space. The road to the cabin makes you feel like you are truly in the mountains! I will definitely be staying again, hopefully in a cooler month!

Best mountain getaway ever!!

Our family absolutely loved staying here. The view was stunning and the cabin was very comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub and bumper pool. We will definitely be coming back next year!!

Quiet beauty in the mountains

Fantastic location not far from town but deep enough on a mountain side with a great view for total peace and quiet. Hot tub under the stars was the highlight. Clean and comfortable, it was great!

Amazing mountain cabin

Stayed during the 2016 snowstorm! We really enjoyed our stay-private location with spectacular views. Close to Asheville for day activities. Definitely recommend!!

This place is so perfect in every way. We like being in the woods but minutes from town. This place is clean, well maintained, well equipped, Mike is very responsive if you need to reach him, and there are a number of other homes on sight. He has 25 acres and five houses to choose from. Hiking trails, walking paths and beautiful views. We have already committed to coming back next September. The Black Mountain area is a real pleasure with culinary variety. Close to several major state and federal hiking trails. This is a must do for your vacation.

Peaceful with Beautiful Views

Beautiful cabin and very private. When you are there, you feel like you have the entire mountain to yourself. I was there with a group of longtime friends (45 years or more) and it was a perfect place for a reunion.
