Considered one of the best locations in all of Hana town area, the Gold Coast of Hana. Centrally located near the best swimming beach, Hana town and the National parks.

Private vacation rental with the vintage style Hawaii ambiance and decor! Newly refurbished in 2019!

Hale Manu, which means the 'Bird House', is a large two-bedroom guesthouse, privately located in the rear of our property with great ocean views from the spacious deck. The Hawaiian styled architecture includes open beamed, vaulted ceilings, a large center cupola for great airflow, an open floor plan and a large lanai for evening dining under the stars or morning coffee with the sunrise.

Over time, we have completely renovated, including a large fully equipped kitchen, an all tile bathroom, queen sized beds with high thread count all cotton bedding, propane BBQ and an additional table for dining on the lanai. The ocean facing bedrooms are conducive to romantic sultry evening breezes.

Free high speed wireless internet access, Netflix and Amazon Prime movies, free landline phone service to USA and Canada, washer/dryer, microwave and more. You can also enable your cellphone calls to the internet.

Hale Manu is perched at the rear of our fully landscaped, two-acre property, providing privacy. Hamoa Beach, considered the best in town, is just minutes away. We provide beach fins, chairs and beach towels.

The Hana Guest Houses are in an area named (Malanai) after the gentle cooling breezes, known for this area of Hana. We are located just 3.6 miles (a five minute drive) outside of Hana Town center in the Maka’alae district, which is considered the most highly desired area of Hana.

Beautiful home that felt very traditionally Hawaiian. Loved the openness of the space and beautiful kitchen. Coffee was delicious! I had concerns about driving to Hana given the recent storms and Ra was very responsive and reassuring.

Beautiful home at a great location with excellent communication and well stocked towels, linens, dishes, whatever you could need during your stay. There was an issue with the stove but they resolved it immediately and even went to the trouble to buy a new stove from the other side of the island and install it by the following morning. Amazing home and it added to the charm and wonder that is Hana.

The location is beautiful, and the amenities and decor and plants all make the house feel welcoming. The dryer wasn't working, and perhaps just needed clearer instructions.

Thank you for the great review. Update on the dryer, sometimes guests will push the light button for more the a couple seconds and it will put the machine in Lock Control... to unlock push the button 3 seconds and it is back in action!

I have a lovely time with my parents here in this idyllic getaway. It was incredible. You are SO incredibly close to all the beautiful waterfalls and hikes on the Road to Hana, the national park, and the famous beaches. If you are imagining a vacation to “disconnect” from the world (wifi/cell service is pretty touch and go) then this is it. I felt like I was driving on the set of Jurassic Park while exploring everywhere. The home was fantastic with a wonderful kitchen, ocean gear to borrow, two bedrooms, a parking spot, everything ready. I loved our stay. WORTH IT!!

We thank our reviewer for their nice comments! About the Wi-Fi...we normally have great high speed internet service from Spectrum Cable Co.. About a week ago an electrical storm affected some of the neighborhoods service. It is being restored to its normal reliability. Cell phone reception is spotty in the Hana area and when at the house, just enable Wi-Fi to your cell phone.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hale Manu. Quiet, relaxing, comfortable and spacious. The house is very well stocked with everything you need and our host was extremely quick to respond with our questions. We loved walking in to the sound of Christmas music & gorgeous fresh flowers everywhere. Easy access to Hana town, the state & national parks and the beautiful beaches. I would highly recommend Hale Manu & Hana as a great retreat. Loved it!

This is a really nice guesthouse about a mile from the beach and convenient to the Hana Highway. Pros: great kitchen setup, nice deck, appreciated the beach chairs, very clean. Cons: beds were a bit hard for our taste and the couch is super uncomfortable. Lack of A/C was fine in December (the fans provided were very helpful); not sure about other months.

We loved our 4-night stay at this lovely 2-bedroom house. It’s very quiet and private, surrounded by lush tropical plants. Both bedrooms and the deck have lovely eastern ocean views. (The house is not actually on the beach— it’s across the road and uphill from the water.)

Good place to stay. They have a lot of nice features including beach chairs, snorkel gear, washer and dryer and most everything you could want. Could use a little tlc. Doesn't compare to other places we stayed that I gave 5 stars, but a solid 4 atars.The home is in a tropical rain forest. Insects and geckos are to be expected. If geckos on the walls inside the house would bother you, this isn't the place to book. If that doesn't bother you, book it.

Mary Carol Cabibi and Steven Gayle have been in love with the Hana area for more than twenty years. In 2016 they learned that Chris and Leokane Harrington-Pryor were interested in selling the Guest Houses at Malanai, and by April Mary Carol and Steve had become the new proprietors. They now live on the property with their family.

The previous owners purchased this property in 2001 and worked continuously to create a paradise for themselves, their family and friends. In 2005 they began to offer this unique experience to the public. The new proprietors have retained all of the staff, and have maintained all of the landscaping, amenities, and warm aloha that the Guest houses at Malanai have become famous for. Only two of the homes on the large property are available to the public. As one of only three legally permitted vacation rental properties in the area, The Guest Houses at Malanai are often booked months in advance and are well deserving of their consistent #1 rating and stellar reviews.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

The Guest Houses at Malanai are located in the Maka'alae area of Hana, about 3 miles south of Hana Town. This area is considered the most desirable of Hana due to its close proximity to world famous Hamoa Beach and the Venus Pool, as well as the gentle breezes and open landscape which keep it cooler and more comfortable than other locations in the area. Maka'alae was once the fishing village of the area and boasts some of the most breathtaking coastline of all Maui. During whale season, it is the perfect place to see their migration and sometimes even hear them playing at night. Our rental cottages are both situated in a completely private setting, amid glorious landscaping that has been lovingly nurtured by the previous owners for more than a decade.
