We absolutely loved our stay in Hana! Just down the road from the beautiful black sand beach at Waiʻānapanapa State Park, the location was perfect. The unit had everything the four of us needed, including a lovely outdoor shower, and the peaceful surroundings made it such a relaxing getaway.To top it all off, I accidentally left something important behind, and the caretaker went above and beyond to help me out and get it back to me right away. That level of kindness and thoughtfulness meant so much!It was well worth the drive along the Hana Highway! We highly recommend spending a couple of nights on the eastern tip of Maui to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of this special place.

Loved this sanctuary in Hāna. Felt like a very authentic experience not just a place to sleep. Our kids loved the space and fruit trees and close walk to black sand beach. Thank you for a special experience!

My wife and I had a wonderful time in Hana. The first thing we did when we arrived after a long travel day was take a hot shower in the outdoor shower which was a great way to start our trip. The bed was comfortable and the house was very relaxing for our 3-night stay. We made reservations at the Waianapanapa State Park just down the street, which was great for hiking and swimming, make sure to make reservations ahead of time. Jody was very pleasant to communicate with and we will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Hana.

We felt right at home! This place is better than the pictures show!! A fruit lovers dream, walking distance to Waianapapa beach, I’d recommend making more than one reservation due to the close proximity. We had a blast looking at all of the fruit trees around the property, which looked to be about two acres. We saw papaya, coffee, orange, lime, star fruit, avocado trees and more! There are little fruit stands along the road set up by neighbors (as well as this house) which makes for a fun walk. We found ripe avocados and breadfruit along the road that had fallen from trees and bought guava from a neighbor. We absolutely loved this house and looked to extend our trip, however, understandably it was already booked. It’s a little dark, the fans and screen doors worked well with no A/C and the lizards like to come in at night, That didn’t bother us, but just a note if someone hates lizards lol.

A beautiful, peaceful retreat in Hana!!We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property in Hana. The lush grounds were a highlight, with amazing tropical flowers and foliage that made simply spending time there a pleasure. Everywhere we looked, there was something beautiful to appreciate. Being surrounded by so much greenery gave the property a wonderfully peaceful feeling and made it easy to settle in and relax.The accommodations were super comfortable, and the quiet setting was exactly what we hoped to find in Hana. We loved having such a restful place to return to after exploring. This is the kind of place that encourages you to slow down, take your time, and enjoy your surroundings. As much as we enjoyed getting out to see the area, relaxing at the property was a memorable part of the visit.The proximity to Waiʻānapanapa State Park was another major benefit. Having such a spectacular place nearby made this a wonderful base for enjoying that part of Maui. The combination of convenient access to the park and a peaceful, comfortable setting made the location particularly special.Communication from Jody (the host) was excellent. We appreciated the clear, helpful communication, which made everything feel easy and welcoming.If you are looking for beautiful tropical surroundings, peace and quiet, and a comfortable place to enjoy Hana, this property is a wonderful choice. We left feeling relaxed and grateful for our time here and would happily stay again!

Plan ahead for access to the state park. We could walk there but passes were sold out 5 days in advance .

That was disappointing, I am sure. The reservation system has been in place for a few years now. I understand many state parks are requiring reservations. There are many other things to do around Hana, however.

Wonderful, private home on a large lot with fruit trees and a large lanai overlooking the yard. The house was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. We loved it and would come back in a second!

Hana staycation

Clean property, spacious with patio and beautiful garden; easy walking distance to black sand beach; we had family fun cooking and appreciated French press coffee and fresh fruits; after hard days hiking and exploring it was great to come to a home with hot showers; definitely recommend it

Loved the location

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights in Luana Cottage. It was so close to Waianapanapa State park we went there a couple of times, absolutely beautiful. We also had fun checking out all the fruit trees and flowers located on the cottage property. I’m going to recommend this cottage to my friends that want to visit Hana. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us.

Wonderful Vacation

This was an incredible house for our family summer vacation. My husband and I have visited Maui before, but this was the first time for the kids and they had an absolute blast. The house is at a great location - close to town and the beaches, and has everything you need for a Maui getaway.

Beautiful and close to everything

We had a wonderful stay. The property is beautiful with many fruit trees. The house was great with everything you would need and very clean. So many things to do and restaurants close by. We would definitely come back again.

Dreamy stay on the road to Hana

Conveniently located juste a few minutes from Hana, clean and stocked with all the necessities. Comfy beds. Happy teens with the best wifi on Hawai’i yet. Everything was absolutely perfect.

Awesome place!

What a wonderful slice of heaven. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this place near Hana. Accommodations were superb - well stocked with all we needed to make us feel at home. The grounds are beautiful - thank you for the yummy fruit! Highly recommend.
