Myrtle's Place - Gorgeous 1941 updated Beach Cottage with boat slip!

At Myrtle's Place you will enjoy sunrises, stunning sunsets, and the joy of only 99 steps to the beach and 50 steps to your dock! There are amazing views of the canal from the property's front deck. This ocean harbor property is the perfect location for making long-lasting family vacation memories.

Myrtle's Place is a traditional 1941 beach cottage having been COMPLETELY UPDATED in 2019 by a local designer bringing all the latest comfort features whilst retaining the original classic beach cottage experience. Stunning kitchen has been fully updated with all the bells and whistles. The counter top is concrete with sand and sea glass sourced from Carolina Beach set into it. At night turn on the blue glass feature and watch the counter top glow, coming to life as it brings the feel of the ocean inside.

The Atlantic Ocean is a 3 minute walk. Many beach items, chairs, toys etc are available for guests to use.

We now have our own boat slip at the dock across the street, bring your own boat, kayaks, paddle boards and fishing gear, or rent some from the local companies.

A 1941 beautiful classic Beach Cottage loaded with style and character. I am the 3rd owner in summer 2017 having been previously owned by Myrtle who passed in 2006, inherited by her son Bob. To respect their memory it is now named "Myrtle's Place". Many people said to me you must knock it down and build a huge new building explaining it will be a better investment rather than remodeling costs. I LOVE the character and story of Myrtle's Beach Cottage and was determined to keep the character. The design was continuously adapted throughout the rebuild effort which took over 12 months (completed May 2019) always considering the balance between modern conveniences for guests and retaining the original classic beach cottage character. So many of these older cottages have gone forever, but Myrtle's Place lives on....

Love Myrtles Place!

We had a wonderful stay with our adult children. It’s actually much bigger than you would think from looking at the pics. Great location and an easy walk to the beach. Fully stocked kitchen made cooking dinners a breeze. Thoroughly enjoyed the fenced back yard and being able to bring our fur babies along for the trip! Would definitely book again!

We enjoyed our stay. We loved the story of Myrtle and keeping her legacy alive! Cute comfortable cottage. We would have liked more in the kitchen but we cook A LOT!!! The owner is the sweetest! So enjoyed our time with our family!

Graduation weekend

We came down for UNC-W graduation.Myrtles place was great. It was about 20ish minutes from UNC-W and at the beach. There were 8 of us and a small dog and the place fit us perfectly. Everything was neat and clean. The host answered our questions quickly and was very accommodating. When we come back down we plan to stay here again.

Very nice, quirky and comfortable

Myrtle's place was a great place to enjoy the beach as well as kayaking and paddle boarding on the bay. Loved how old and new was blended in the rehab. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking and beds were comfortable. Watch out for Josie the pirate hanging out on the back porch!

Perfect!

Beautifully restored beach house! So much room! So pet friendly and just steps to your dock for your boat. I love how they kept with the 1940’s original house and made so many restorative upgrades. Love the history on the wall that tells the story and Josie was a plus! Ended up just being 3 of us and enjoyed it so much.

Great house and location to beach, pier, and downtown. Easy to child proof for littles!

We enjoyed a few nights at Myrtle’s Place before Memorial Day. The house was a great location to the beach, pier, downtown, and more. The lounge off the queen bedroom was perfect for our toddler to stay close but have her own room. We were able to childproof the house pretty easily with outlet plugs, stove knob covers, door knob covers, cabinet locks, and moving breakables to a high shelf. I appreciated that all TVs (with the exception of the lounge off the queen room) were mounted to the wall. We wound up removing the TV from there and putting in an unused room. If you want to maximize time at Myrtle’s, Uber Eats and Instacart happily delivers to this location. P.S. If visiting in the spring, please note that the Ferris wheel, rides, and many restaurants are only open Thurs–Sun during the off season.

Great location and dog friendly

We enjoyed our week at Myrtles Place. The home had lots of character and space for 4 couples and 3 dogs. Very pet friendly with hardwood floors and a fenced yard. Great location to enjoy Carolina Beach! The owner was very quick with communication and always available and helpful. Thank you for a great vacation!

Sunsets and sunrises!

Loved our stay at Myrtles Place! Perfect location for watching sunsets on the canal, and a block away from the beach. Plenty of space for friends or guests. Fenced in yard for our dog. Responsive owners- the laundry machine broke and they had it replaced next day. Open kitchen, wood details and charm throughout. You can tell the home was lovingly restored. Will def stay here again!

Fun and easy getaway with pups in tow

This property was perfect! The rustic traditions paired with the modern upgrades made an enjoyable and relaxing environment. The location was perfect with access to the water area across the street for kayaking and the beach sand an easy walk to play and bask in the sun. Fun to read the history of this sweet cottage and how the memory and history was preserved. Really accommodating place to bring the dogs too. Host was quick to respond super kind.

Great Family Getaway

Family beach trip

Myrtle’s place is absolutely lovely! A spacious kitchen living area combination provided plenty of comfortable space for everyone. Nice sized bedrooms with very comfy beds. Location is convenient. Nice fenced back yard, which was great for the dogs(They strongly approved of this property)

Labor Day

Very nice place. Plenty of parking and the homes wide open concept made socializing and meals very enjoyable. The backyard is great and my pup Winston loved the doggie door! 5 min walk to the beach and amazing sunsets from the front porch! Highly recommended!

Charming Beach Cottage

The house was wonderful. Cozy and charming with modern touches. One of the best showers in a vacation home. There are a lot of reclaimed doors in the interior that take a little getting used to if you are not familiar with them. The pirate lady spooked more than one family member. Nothing that the owners can control, but there are no sidewalks, just a bike/pedestrian lane on Canal St. Not a deterrence, just something to be mindful of if like us, you have a small child with you. Roads can get flooded but again nothing the owners can control. Overall, a lovely and relaxing week in a beautiful home!

Annual Carolina Trip

The hosts are super responsive to all questions leading up to the arrival. Justus was helpful when needed something and was so kind. The house has everything you need and didn't need. Everything was thought out for the guests. The kitchen is amazing. Also.. Josie .. lol! Close to all things. Short walk to the beach made sunrise watching easy and turtle hatching viewing possible (not turtles hatched for us this week). Highly recommend.
