The West Star Yacht Staycation on the water

The West Star is a 60' motor yacht located in a quiet southern San Diego marina. WE ARE AN AT DOCK STAY ONLY. We have 3 levels for relaxation and fun. Wifi, fully equipped galley, Smart t.v.s, 2 staterooms, 1 bunk room, 2 bathrooms, 3 viewing decks, 2 kayaks. Boater's lounge, restaurant, gym, bikes, pool, hot tub, putting green are all available for use at the marina. This is for an "at dock only" stay meaning the boat is not available for cruising at this time.

Fantastic Time!

Highly recommend for an interesting kind of VRBO rental that is as comfortable as it is fun and rejuvenating. The yacht has everything you need for an enjoyable stay and you won't want to leave when your time is up! Elizabeth and Tim are fantastic hosts - personable and professional and they handle everything from start to finish. Sunbathe, swim, kayak, fish or do nothing and just relax. Beds are comfortable, bathroom are fully equipped. Can't say enough positive about this 'property'.

Fun experience

Great communication, and enjoyed a unique stay. Clubhouse is helpful to have amenities close by, but we found the yacht had all we needed. Fun experience!

Magical place

Our 3 days on the West Star were incredible! There were so many places to spread out but also places to come together and be cozy… it couldn’t have been more perfect!

Fun place to stay

We loved our stay on the yacht! The beds were extremely comfortable as well as several places to lounge and relax. The hosts were extremely flexible with checking in. They accommodated our every need. The marina was very peaceful. Fun, unique, place to stay in San Diego.

Stay on a yacht!

We had a wonderfully peaceful stay on the West Star in the San Diego area. The accommodations were exactly as expected. Well cared for and appropriately appointed. The marina itself was lovely. Just such a pleasant environment to spend a peaceful stay. Communication with the hosts was excellent. They made it so easy and efficient. We would definitely do it all over again. If you’ve never stayed on or spent any time on a yacht, this is a unique opportunity. Well worth it. Highly recommended!!!

We had the time of our life - everything happened to be exactely as described, even better than expected. lots of space, extremely helpful and friendly and always reachable hosts. generous equipment on the Yacht, Yacht Harbor cosy with pool and hot tub we loved it and hope to be able to come back. Takes your breath away

This is round two for us. We loved it so much the first time, we had to come back. You never know what expect but this place does just check ALL the boxes, it exceeds ALL expectations. It s easy to give this a perfect rating. We are already looking for a next trip. It’d you are looking at something unique in the San Diego area, look no further. This is it! The communication with the hosts was nothing short of amazing and the stillness of staying on a boat is truly priceless. Going to sleep and waking up on the water is an experience like no other. This place is truly a one of a kind find.

Relaxing

The boat is roomy and, although a bit older, it is well cared for and clean. We enjoyed the relaxing time, smooth water, and kayaking. Would definitely stay again.

Relaxing getaway

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of our relaxing getaway on the West Star! Everything was perfect, from the beautiful boat, the quiet marina and the amazing hosts! Great San Diego Getaway

Me and my two adult children stayed on the West Star Yacht and had a great time. The yacht itself is very clean and well stocked with everything you need and the amenities at the dock were easy to access and we had an awesome time! We look forward to doing it again in the future.

We enjoyed our stay on the Yacht. It was different and unique and very relaxing! We didn't want to leave. Personally meeting the owners was also an added nice touch!

From the moment we stepped on board, we were greeted with a sense of luxury and elegance. The yacht itself was absolutely stunning, with spacious cabins that provided the perfect blend of comfort and style. And let's not forget about the views from the deck! It was like having our own private oasis on the water. But what truly set this experience apart was the exceptional hospitality of the host. They were incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. From recommending the best local spots to ensuring our needs were met, they truly made us feel like VIP guests. It's rare to find such genuine warmth and care in a host, and it made our stay even more memorable. The amenities on the yacht were top-notch. We had access to all the modern conveniences we could ask for, from a fully-equipped kitchen to a cozy living area. It was like having a home away from home, but with the added bonus of being surrounded by the beauty of the ocean. Overall, I can't recommend this VRBO yacht rental enough. It's not just a place to stay, but a complete experience that will leave you feeling pampered and rejuvenated. If you’re looking for a different and unique Vrbo stay, this is the one! The distribution was spot on! Elizabeth met us at the marine and showed us all the amenities the marina offers and there are many! Walked us through the yacht explaining everything. This place checked all the boxes, plus! We’re hoping the return! Book it!!

I'm a native San Diegan who loves to travel and owns my own businesses. I have been all over and like the idea of staying in homes. flats. and boats in cities and towns around the world.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

My partner and I purchased this boat with the idea of someday taking it to turquoise waters and retiring on it part time in Aruba or Belize and part time here in San Diego.
We bought it in 2018 and took 8 months to repair, refurbish and paint anything and everything that needed some TLC. The end result is a comfortable, fun and beautiful "second home on the water". We love being able to share our dream of relaxation and fun with you!

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

The reason we chose this boat was the challenge it came with. It had beautiful "bones" under all that bad paint and window coverings. We both had flipped homes, so why not a boat? My partner grew up in Detroit and an "engine is just an engine" to him so he's the operations guy and I'm the interiors, website designer and greeter of guests. We make a great team and if we don't know how to do it, YouTube has become a great teacher.
We renamed the boat The West Star because every night in our backyard the planet Venus would rise and we would jokingly proclaim "the west star has risen". So, the name stuck. We had a name changing ceremony and gave Poseidon the old name and an offering of spirits. The West Star was born.
