Welcome to Camp Kreil!

It's almost 2025 and it's the time of year we book for this coming summer season! Plan your visit and we hope you entertain a stay with us on Mirror Lake.

Nestled within a grove of birch, beech and maple trees sits a rare vacation home in Lake Placid. Fall is an extra special time to be in the Adirondack's with all the beautiful colors of leaves emerging in mid to late September and providing brilliance through Columbus weekend usually.

On the shores of beautiful Mirror Lake and located in the middle of the Olympic Village of Lake Placid, this 3 bedroom home provides it all... swim beach, pristine mountain lake, views of the high peaks including Whiteface Mt., sailboats and kayaks for summer play, 2 docks as well as creature comforts including Hot Tub, TV's, 3 Complete bedrooms, Jacuzzi tub in Master Bath, Wireless Internet, stereo with CD or plug in your iPod, dining room, living room and patio table with umbrella!

Fully furnished with all linen, towels and even spices and condiments stocked ahead to start you out!

In the winter, step outside your door and slip on some cross country skis and take a tour around Mirror Lake stopping by the renowned 'Cottage' at the Mirror Lake Inn. Cross Country skis are available on site as well as some boots. While you're located only steps away from all of Lake Placid's shops and restaurants you'll enjoy the privacy and quiet that this unique setting offers. You feel as though you're in the middle of the woods or your own private island!

This home is part of a historic building that is also owned by the condo owner containing 8 other condo's and apartments although they are all situated on other levels and are not connected in any way to this owner's condo and do not have access to the private waterfront.

Enjoy the Bavarian knick-knacks that are complimented with scenes of skiing and golf. Owned by Ed Kreil, the retired Director of Whiteface Mt.'s Adult Ski School for many years as well as being a certified PGA Golf Teaching Pro, this home will feel like your home with its comfort and setting.

Plan to reserve ahead of time as the best dates will go fast on this vacation condo!

Best time in the long time!!!

The pictures doesn't really show how beautiful this place is. The lake view from inside, the deck is perfect to enjoy the end of the day with a BBQ. Mornings and evenings are simole gorgeous. The condo was extremely clean and well decorated. We felt like at home. We can't wait to be back next year! BTW the owner is such a nice man...

Camp Kreil was a blast!

I took my daughter and 4 of her friends to Lake Placid for a Sweet 16 celebration. The location of the home (not a detached house) is amazing.. right off of Main Street. The home was very clean and having the ability to do laundry was a bonus! It was spacious enough to accommodate the 6 of us easily. The amenities in the home were wonderful as is the charming decor. We made full use of the hot tub, paddle boards and swimming in the lake. The owner, Ed Kreil was a joy to interact with. I highly recommend this rental!

June Getaway

We greatly enjoyed our stay. The location is convenient and easy to access the town while simultaneously being completely private and quiet when down by the lake. We loved it and plan to book again in the future. We will cherish the time we spent their with our baby and remember it forever.

Best stay in lake placid

We have been to lake placid for the past several winters and this is the best stay. Excellent location - right on Main Street and direct access to the lake (we walked on the lake when it froze up); spacious and clean property, and super friendly and welcoming owner. Will definitely go back for the next visit to lake placid!

A quiet spot in the middle of it all

Can’t think of a better spot to bring our family for a getaway. Gorgeous views. A comfortable, well-appointed home with all the thoughtful touches. And all the bustle we could want just a walk away but far enough to not have to hear it. Perfectly lovely!

Fabulous Property

On beautiful Mirror Lake which is clean and bursting with activity. Motors not allowed so it is very peaceful. The condo is right in the heart of Lake Placid which we didn't expect, but turned out to be fine because the property itself is well removed from the street and it was convenient to shop and dine. Very relaxing. The apartment is very well stocked and is tastefully decorated. Great place.

Wonderful place!

This is the nicest place we have ever stayed in at Lake Placid. The location is fantastic - so close to everything and yet very private. The host was wonderful and very accommodating - we've never had a better host any place we've booked through VRBO. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful condo on the lake

The condo was perfect. We had such a wonderful time paddling on Mirror Lake and walking in town. Perfectly located and the owner provided a warm welcome and was quick to answer any questions. I highly recommend.

Hidden piece of paradise

We had a great time! The house is even nicer than the pictures. The location is perfect, right on Main Street, but the rental is on a lower level, so it's very private. You are right on the water. The kitchen is updated and has everything you need. We ate breakfast and lunch at the outdoor table and ate at the restaurants ( which are walking distance) for dinner. Eddie, the owner, is great! I would definitely recommend staying here. When we come back, we would stay here for sure!

Perfect Getaway

Our stay was so wonderful that we extended it once we got here. This house is perfectly located right off the Main street, but so quiet inside that you wouldn't know you were right in the center of town. The house itself is very cozy and clean, and well equipped with anything you'd need for your stay. The boats, hot tub and lake access were incredible. We will definitely be coming back!

Gem on Mirror Lake

Terrific property with mirror lake access from dock and grass backyard, and steps away from restaurants and shops. Enclosed backyard was perfect for the dog. We spend most of our time paddling, swimming, and in the hot tub. The property is very nice and clean inside and out. Mark was very helpful and flexible when we needed a late checkout. We may come back again!

Beautiful location!

We just got home from our stay., me, my husband and 10 year old twins. The location is absolutely perfect! No need to leave. Spend the day on the lake. Walk up the steps and you are in the heart of Main St but would never know it the condo is so secluded. Ed greeted us with wine cheese and bread. He is wonderful. Kitchen is great, we cooked most of our meals. Can’t wait to go back!

A little oasis in town.

So close to Main Street but none of the noise. A beautiful escape. The kids (and adults) had a blast on the water thanks to the SUPs and kayaks. Gorgeous views of the lake and mountains. Moonrise over the lake was incredible. The house was clean and well equipped; it had everything we needed to enjoy a fabulous vacation. Thank you Ed!

Lives up to all the 5 star reviews!

We booked because of all the great reviews and it certainly didn’t disappoint! Probably the best place on the lake - great lawn, paddle boards, kayaks, and my kids favorite - a pedal boat. Perfect place for kids between the direct lake access and toys along with a great hot tub and lots of great children’s books. Sitting in the dock in the Adirondack chairs watching the sun set with a drink is a perfect end to a day. Perfect location right in town, but so private it feels like another world. We can’t wait to come back!

Perfect!

When my wife asked me during our stay if there was anything we wished the place had or that I thought was missing...we agreed it had everything! Ed (owner) and Mark were terrific to interact with. The home was a great size for a family of four - not to big and not to small. It really felt like a free standing home (it is a part of a larger building but does not really feel like it.) The location in town yet quietly secluded was terrific. Being ON THE WATER with 2 small docks turned out to be even more of a bonus than we imagined. There were kayaks, paddle boards, small boat, hot tub...Thanks - we will be back.

Tween parent heaven!

This house has it all! Perfect location, lake front, privacy. Our family loved the house. This house is so well stocked with kitchen supplies, sheets & towels (lots of towels), life jackets. They really thought of everything. Our children are at the age where independence is becoming very important to them (and nice for us) this house is the perfect location for that. The ice cream shop is 2 doors down, Starbucks is across the street, and my favorite coffee spot is on the same side a couple of doors down. The movie theater is also within walking distance for the kids. Truly a gem location and surprisingly quiet for being in the center of town. We will be back and LOVED it! -The Wood Family

Truly amazing!

This is the second year my family has stayed here and it was again nothing short of amazing ! Our five kids spent the entire week jumping in the lake paddle boarding kayaking and having the time of their lives ... we have another summer of amazing memories in the books. The place is beautiful and it’s right on the lake you couldn’t ask for a better place to stay! The owner Ed is wonderful very welcoming and accommodating and we can’t wait to come back again next year !

I was the Ski School Director for Whiteface Mt. for many years as well as PGA Teaching Golf Pro. For many years, my wife and I ran Goldberries Restaurant on Main Street in Lake Placid.
In addition to skiing, I love kite boarding, roller blading, traveling and enjoyable times with friends and family! Lake Placid is a fantastic town for everything you might like to do....recreating in the outdoors, great dining, entertainment...you name it, we've got it!

Great town as it's a destination resort community having served as an Olympic site twice in its history. Lake Placid is still an Olympic training center and is host to a wide variety of sporting events.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

I like to be able to walk out of my bedroom, into the hot tub and then another 15 yards or so to my beach and the Lake. A great way to start the morning with a nice swim and again at night!

My beach and docks are private to this vacation property only. I always keep a sailboat tied up for my renters to use as they like as well as having a couple of kayaks all set to go as well. Every Wed and Thursday in the summer you can take a kayak about 5 minutes down the Lake and enjoy a concert going on from the bandshell on the shores of Mirror Lake. It's a great way to enjoy and recreate without having to get in a car and drive!
