Gorgeous North Lake Leelanau Cottage.

One mile south of Leland, Drake’s bluff is located in a premier location in Northern Michigan. This property sits on the breathtaking North Lake Leelanau in the heart of the Leelanau Peninsula. Enjoy 200 ft of frontage with 2 private docks and a private mooring located across the famous M22 road. Here, family and friends can enjoy swimming, kayaking, and a fire by the lake. Rent a boat nearby or bring your own to enjoy 20 miles of watersports, great fishing, boating North through the Leland river into Historic Fishtown(Leland), or boating South through the narrows into Lake Leelanau. Both towns offer docks to tie up where you can enjoy great food, shopping, wine tasting, ice cream, and in Leland walk the famous Van's beach on Lake Michigan.

This beautiful home is unique as it offers an amazing lake view showcasing Lake Leelanau’s gorgeous tree lined waters, sunrises in the morning from inside or on the deck, and shinning moon and stars at night. This home has ample outdoor space and seating to enjoy grilling out, yard games and a great bonfire area. There is also a large outdoor cedar shower and hammocks. Home features include: two separate living spaces that are connected, each have their own kitchen, bedrooms and living area. There are a total of 5 bedrooms and 3 baths, a stunning fireplace, and lots of windows to view the lake. In the shed and the storage box at the lake there are yard games, kids bikes, fishing poles, and water toys.

Included are two adult sit in kayaks, one children’s sit on kayak, for your use. We provide 4 adult life jackets and 2 children’s life jackets.

This great location on the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail is just a short drive to the Sleeping Bear Dunes, Lake Michigan, Traverse City, Northport, Sutton's Bay, and Glen Arbor to enjoy all of the wonderful attractions that the area offers.

We provide towels and bed linens. Please bring your own beach towels. *We do remove the docks from the water and shut the outdoor shower down Oct. 10th - May 25.

Please note our rental week runs Friday to Friday during peak summer season. 7 day minimum stay. 3 day minimum stay in off peak season.

Impressions: beautiful view, very clean, ample parking, easy check in, very pleasant manager, 5 minutes to Leland, 15 minutes to Sutton’s Bay. We stayed here for a week in August for a family reunion. The house was perfect for our family. 7 adults and 4 children/ toddlers. The manager texted me a few days before check in to see if I had any questions. She gave me her number in case I had problems. I guess the BBQ died the week before, but she arranged and delivered a brand new BBQ for our week. Can’t say enough nice things about this rental.

The house was large with lots of bedrooms, though the layout was a little awkward with one bedroom also serving as a passthrough. The view of the water and access to the lake was nice, but the lake is separated from the house by M22. Crossing the highway was a little stressful, especially with children. The kitchen is very small and outdated and some minor amenities like the trash can and hairdryer need to be replaced. The property manager was very thoughtful and checked in with us after a strong thunderstorm knocked out power in the area (we were fine).

We stayed for a week in June. We felt the house could of been cleaner, floors were dirty, one toilet dirty and the sheets did not smell clean at all. Downstairs bedroom had a very weird musty chemical smell, we had to stop and get an air fresher for it. The layout is definitely difficult when the back bedroom you are stuck in if someone is in bathroom and middle bedroom is pass through. It was sufficient for week, but would not recommend.

Beautiful location right on Lake Leelanau with stunning views and easy access to the water. The house was very spacious, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a great stay. The host was responsive and made the entire process simple — we’d definitely come back.

Planning a family reunion with family in 5 different states is not easy. Having spent our summers in upper Michigan, we knew that our destination would be somewhere in Michigan, ideally on the west coast; we decided on the Traverse City area. We found Drake’s Bluff in Leland that was big enough for everyone.What a fantastic find! Beautiful home perched on a bluff overlooking Lake Leland.Enough bedrooms and baths to accommodate everyone. Outside areas with large deck and Firepit were amazing. Two full kitchens and living areas! Bonus was the shuffle board table and nightly tournamentsWe had an issue with the WiFi on Sunday right before World Cup final. A call to property manager Jodi, had that issue resolved immediately. In fact Jodi was available and accommodating during our entire stay.Location couldn’t have been better with Leland, Fish Town, Glen Arbor, Sutton’s Bay, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, Empire, and Traverse City, all close by..The only issue is that it is a bit hard to find. Maybe signage would help. But once you do find it, you are in for a treat!This truly was a great place for our family reunion. 10/10 recommendation!

Beautiful View!

Really enjoyed the large deck and firepit area. Ample seating in both places and eating breakfast and having coffee on the deck was fantastic! Wonderful views of the lake!

Wonderful stay

Nice property, right across M-22 to the 2 docks, lots of water toys. Comfortable bedding, lots of room to relax. The deck with the view of the lake is amazing!

Great Fall Getaway!

We spent a long weekend up there and it was great! House was just the right fit for our group of 10! The view of the water and fall trees were beautiful! Definitely would go back!

Up North

The location was perfect for our family. Very close to many awesome wineries, towns for shopping and access to the water. The house was clean and well maintained.

Great spot with great views of Lake Leelanau and close to Leland!

We had a fantastic time at this property for the week. The property is as advertised. We enjoyed the fire pit every night and the amazing views. The location being so close to Leland is fantastic. It is a little difficult getting down to the dock and the lake (have to be careful crossing the road), but the lake is amazing.

Hello, we are the Drake family and we are so happy to share our house with you! We have been coming up to the Leelanau area for years and have built so many wonderful memories swimming and boating on the lake. Yard games, grilling and bonfires are some of our favorite times up north. We love visiting all the local attractions like Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, hiking and biking all the amazing trails throughout Leelanau county. Visiting Lake Michigan, kayaking the crystal river, tubing the Platte river and checking out all the beautiful towns and markets. The wineries are all so unique and we have found them to be super family friendly. We love going out to the local restaurants and sitting outside listening to music and of course getting ice-cream.

In the Winter there are many local trails and wineries that offer access to snowshoeing. cross-country skiing and fat tire biking. We also enjoy driving to the local downhill ski resorts for a day of downhill skiing . Timberlee Hills offers snow tubbing and there are many local parks where you can just go sledding and iceskating. For a winter water adventure there are many places to ice fish or river kayak.

In the Fall the colors of the leaves changing are beautiful for hiking and exploring.

We are excited to share our favorite place with others and open our home to many families creating great memories! We know you'll love it as much as we do!!
