The cabin site on 26 private acres surrounded by cedar trees, a pond and southern Indiana's rolling ridges with expansive views. Equipped kitchen with stone fireplace and hand-crafted cabinets. Cozy living room with vintage parlor stove, digital TV/DVD and sleeper sofa. Queen pillow top bed upstairs. large full bathroom. 2 covered porches, rocking chairs, porch swing, Hammock, Gazebo with outdoor napping bed. Fishing pond and outdoor shower. Francine's cabin was a peaceful, quiet, relaxing place to get away. The cabin was decorated to time period yet very well stocked with the essentials. We highly recommend a stay at Francine's Log Cabin.

Had a weekend away with a friend to relax and read. This was the perfect setting! The view of the pond from the porch was nice, especially when a light rain shower moved through. And the living room inside was comfortable to lounge around in when it got a bit humid outside. Everything was clean and had all the amenities we needed to enjoy our stay!

This was a great place for my wife and I to get away from the kids and celebrate our anniversary. Rocking on the front porch enjoying morning coffee and looking out over the expanse of the hills made it hard to want to leave.

This place is as simply perfect . Cool night breezes sitting in The swing on the front porch and watching the sunset . Watching the fish in the pond and no noise but the bullfrogs and crickets. It was clean and warm very welcoming .

We really enjoyed our stay. It was quiet and exactly what we needed. No hustle. No bustle. The cabin was exactly as described. The host got a hold of us the day we were to arrive to let us know the fountain in the pond had stopped working that day, and that due to the lack of rain, the water level was lower and the pond not as attractive. Wouldn't have changed a thing for us, but I appreciated the fact that she thought to let us know. LOVED that we could check in at three PM and not have to check-out until 11 AM which just added to being able to be leisurely which was the whole goal. My only complaint was that we were provided three washcloths for two people who were staying four days and three nights. Would stay here again. Close enough if we wanted to go to Madison or needed to go to Walmart but far away enough to be able to unwind.

What a great place! Completely private and secluded, nestled in the woods. The cabin sits on top of the highest ridge around (you have to take a couple of switchbacks to get up to the top!) The cabin itself is really cool, very rustic with neat period decor in every nook and cranny, but all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. The porch on the west side of the cabin, overlooking the pond, with two rocking chairs and a porch swing, is where you will spend most of your time. The sunsets over the pond, with rolling hills in the background, rival the best sunsets I've ever seen (Maui, Malibu, etc.)! Only 15 minutes to downtown Madison, but you feel you are in the middle of nowhere. If you are looking to unwind, this is your place, will definitely stay again. And bonus, the pond has bass!

Ive always wanted to live in a log cabin. Tom purchased the cabin as a 20th wedding anniversary gift. Thus begin my Inn Keeping days. I’m a retired realtor, Health nut, honey gram to 8 Grandkids, beekeeper and a GRITS gal. (Gal Raised In The South). 2 years after we purchased the cabin I became sick and was misdiagnosed for over several months. Stage 4 lung cancer (never smoked) 4 months to live! That was 4 years ago. God is good and I’m still here enjoying the cabin. Its been a lot of hard work and I truly believe there’s healing in nature. To everything there is a time and a season. So here I am living my best life enjoying every second. Offering up my little cabin so guest can find the same peace and healing I found. I’m so blessed to be here, to own this little piece of paradise and to share what’s really important in life.

We spent the next 2 years cleaning up the grounds, developing a website www.Francineslogcabin.com, improving the cabin interior. We added the bedroom dormer 3 years ago, new furnace, AC, water heater, napping bed in the gazebo, recutting the original trails and septic system. The cabin was relocated from KY and restored onsite. All the downstairs flooring is reclaimed poplar wood planks. The stone fireplace was from one of the first mud and straw houses in Switzerland county. All the kitchen cabinets have hand carved Hinges and are made with reclaimed wood. Ive always been a big antique/junker so the cabin is decorated with years of digging and junking. Most of the furnishing came from shopping my own house. Once you turn down the driveway Its just a storybook setting and you can literally feel the stresses of modern day fall away. I promise you won’t be disappointed
