This historic building was originally one of the city’s horse stables and has recently been converted into apartments. The new furnishings, bathrooms, luxury linens, towel warmer and a complete kitchen will be appreciated yet the historic charm is blended within.
This fun river town will remind you of years gone by. Come see why Ladie’s Home Journal awarded Madison “ prettiest small town in the midwest”. Chicago Tribune says it’s “the best preserved midwest town".
And, USA TODAY awarded Madison as the BEST SMALL TOWN in the Midwest! Our building was also featured in 3 page article in the Louisville Courier Journal.
This circa 1860 historic building originally was one of the city’s main stables. It’s now a blend of barnwood contemporary and vintage charm with so many amenities!
New renovations, large gathering area and luxury furnishings will leave you wanting to stay longer. Come see why guests say they don’t want to leave!!
This unit is on the main floor with a very easy entry There is also a laundry area. We provide baby and children supplies as well as portable chairs for your use during music festivals and other festivities. We are located at the start of the festivals, right on Broadway Street! The seasonal farmer's market is just across the street on Saturday mornings.
We will also send you a list of recommendations and venues for live music before your arrival.
You will see that we have the BEST downtown location!
We are centrally located in the best part of downtown and in walking distance to most places.
Our Livery Loft apartment is another award winning unit and can sleep 5 more guests. It is located directly above Stablemaster's Quarters. We will soon have another unit available so we can then sleep up to 13 guests.
You will be pleasantly surprised by all the amenities we provide and soon see why our guests often say we are their "best vacation rental experience".

Best place I've stayed! Beautifully decorated, clean, so many amenities and extras! Easy to get too and close to shops, coffee shops and restaurants and the river. The host were so friendly and sweet and easy to get a hold. They definitely went above and beyond to make it a wonderful stay! Can't wait to go back!

The property was very clean, stocked with anything anyone could need, and the host was excellent at communicating and providing those little extra touches to make us feel welcome. Enjoyed our stay and would stay here again!

Suzie and Ron are amazing hosts... the touches around the place made it supreme! Easy communication and wonderful recommendations. Suzie helped celebrate my husband's birthday with so many touches plus a large 2 piece birthday cake. Anything and everything needed while we stayed was right here... Suzie and Ron have an amazing heart and you can tell the pride they have in their places. And our last morning Suzie made delious muffins... cant wait to stay again..

Beautiful property! Comfortable, clean, spacious, and very well stocked. All of our needs and potential needs were covered. Suzie (along with her husband Ron) was a wonderful host. She was very responsive during our stay and she even left a cake in the refrigerator as a surprise anniversary gift.The location is ideal. It is a short walk to the river, main street (shops, galleries, and restaurants), and a beautiful historic residential area. They are the best host/hostess. They even had a cake for my birthday and a banner. They are so nice and even brought us toys for our grandson. It’s the perfect place to relax and know you are going to be greeted with a smile. Our favorite place to stay.

This is our third time staying and the place is perfect. I will never stay anywhere else. The place has everything you need and the owners are absolutely wonderful. It always feels like coming to an actual home.

Best vrbo rental we have ever had! Wonderful location with exceptional hospitality from hosts. They think of everything and go above and beyond with every detail.

Stablemasters Quarters is a beautiful place to stay. Excellent location for shopping and restaurants. Close to the river for scenic walks. Convenient parking. Our hostess was so helpful prior to our arrival and we had everything and more than we needed for a relaxing mother/daughter weekend. We would absolutely recommend these accommodations!

My wife and I had a wonderful time on this trip. We have probably rented a vacation home 20 times in our life so far. This was the best experience I have had with the lengths the host went to make our stay a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

Loved our stay and may re-book in the future. My 88 year old mother was able to get around inside the place and it was clean and comfortable. We were able to push her up and down the main street in her wheelchair from the place.

We had a wonderful stay in Madison, Indiana! The house was extremely clean and very well kept. Communication with the host was top notch from start to finish, which made everything easy and stress-free. The location was perfect for enjoying Madison and everything the area has to offer. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting!

I can not say enough about this place! And Suzy and Ron are absolutely the best hosts! Clean, beautifully decorated in an extremely well done redone old stable. Suzy kept the horse theme throughout. There was everything there you would ever need, she thought of everything and even had cookies on arrival. Stocked refrigerator with bagels, water, and provided muffins on the morning of our departure. It’s walking distance from all Main Street food and stores and down to the river. Easy drive to the state park, wineries, and Hanover university. Beautiful hosts that showed us their other upper loft unit. Just amazing!! Would be a great place to rent out for a family to use both units. Child friendly and will provide needed things for children. Will definitely return and experience a different season. They say it’s beautiful at Christmas with the town all decorated and open up the historic homes for tours. Fall would be beautiful with all the hills and trees. Beautiful hosts and very friendly and welcoming town!

Parking is on street. Rental is beautiful. Not crazy about the sofa. The hostess goes above and beyond to make your stay. Perfect

Thank you Reva for this nice review. Im sorry you didn't like the sectional, we get so many requests from guests wanting to know where to buy one that we have even left the tag on it to show where to order it. Maybe next time you can try one of our other units to see if you like them better…we strive to make all of our guests comfortable.
One other note, if special need guests need off street parking we can usually provide it, right outside the door. Unloading/packing up, right at the door, makes checking in and out very easy which guests love….then there is plentiful parking on Broadway (in front of our building) which is very convenient, compared to most downtown rentals.
Our goal is to make your stay perfect, as Reva stated, so if you have special needs, just let us know.

Absolutely the best place to stay! We returned for a second time this year and plan to stay again next year for a girls weekend getaway. No detail is overlooked in the property from amenities to decorating details.
