Unique -OCEANFRONT cheerfully decorated private, ground level apartment with separate bedroom & bathroom, kitchen (fully stocked) /living combo with full sized furniture and appliances and free onsite parking. Ideal for 2; however, sofa transforms to queen bed as well. Personal beach access including use of Shibumi, beach chairs, beach towels, & coolers. Private outdoor hot/cold shower beside your own patio with chairs, transformable benches to picnic table and market lights for relaxing after a fun day on the beach only a short walk out your side door. . You are within walking distance of restaurants, ice cream/ treats, bars, city park, grocery store and shopping.

Great location, with beach access. The apt was neat, clean, and well decorated. It was also well stocked with essentials. They had everything you needed for a day at the beach. The place was perfect for a party of two.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall this rental is nice. It is well stocked inside and all the beach items needed that you could ask for and the bed was very comfortable however unit is very small (low ceilings) with no place to store suitcases you will live out of them during your stay (had to keep in living area due to no space in bedroom) and no counter top space for things in bathroom. Price seems high for such a small place. Beach path just ok easier to go down street a few doors and access public access with all your beach stuff. I would not recommend for more than 2 people.

Enjoyed our stay. Less clutter and a different eating setup or maybe some TV trays. Loved access to beach and Shibumi. Definitely coming back

The location was very quiet and private . The accommodations were perfect the two of us! It included so many extras , including beach chairs , towels and a shibumi! The owners happened to be in town and were exceptionally nice and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this place … and hope to stay here again !

Lovely beachfront condo

We had a wonderful week stay at the Whimsical Whale and highly recommend this location to others. Everything needed for a relaxing beach trip is provided at this adorable and comfortable condo on the beach. We walked to several local restaurants and took an easy drive to Beaufort and other local spots.

A wonderful weekend getaway!

This property was exactly what my wife and I were looking for! We wanted a quick weekend getaway with good beach access and this was the perfect spot. Great location, very clean and stocked beyond belief! I’ve stayed at a lot of va action homes but I’ve never stayed anywhere that came close to the amount of amenities that this property provided. All you need to bring are your clothes and some groceries and you will have a great trip! We will absolutely be back.

Whimsical Whale at Atlantic Beach

Very tiny, no closet or dresser in the bedroom (although, there are storage baskets under the bed). We had to live out of our suitcase by moving it from the bed to the couch to sleep, and from the couch to the bed to relax during the day. There was no counter space in the bathroom. No screens that fit in the windows. Overall, we had a nice stay, just very tiny for the price. It was just my wife and I and I don't know how it would have handled 4 people as the ad says...

We love staying at the Whimsical Whale!

This was our second stay at the Whimsical Whale. We love the property, location and easy beach access. The property has anything you would need for the beach from ice packs, beach towels, coolers, chairs, etc. There is also a nice little patio on the back with lights to enjoy the evening outside. The place is quite cozy (meaning small). Ideal for two, I think four adults might be a bit crowded. There is no ocean view from the property but we didn't really care too much about that since it is a short walk over the dunes to the beach. The kitchen is well appointed. If you bring your own food, it will have to go on the counter as all cabinets are stocked with kitchen ware. Plan to live out of your suitcase! Storage in the bedroom consists of a few hangers and two drawers of a small night stand. Overall, you will definitely enjoy your stay here!

Perfect cottage for a weekend at the beach. Space was optimized and the decor was perfect. It was equipped with what we needed although we didn’t cook. The outdoor sitting area faced the ocean, although due to the dunes there was no view but a walkway to reach the beach. Shopping and restaurants were close enough to walk.

The height of the protective dunes, at the rental, blocks a view of the ocean. It was quiet at night. Accessible to shops and dining. Outdoor lighting and a parking space was provided.

Steps from the water

Clean with a well stocked kitchen perfect for 1 or 2 people. Also nice to be able to walk up the street to The Shark Shack which is outstanding (but get there early it's busy!)
