Oceanfront Beach House with Loft

A gated and private coastal retreat with spectacular ocean views! House has been remodeled and is warm and inviting. This is a split level house with 2 master suites on the lower level, kitchen on the split level, and family room, 3rd bathroom and 3rd bedroom upstairs. The upstairs bedroom has 4 double beds (2 built in bunk beds) with a loft complete with private couch and TV… a perfect setup for kids. The upstairs family room allows for better views of the ocean than most other units in the Colony. Kitchen is fully stocked with all the tools you will need.

The Monterey Dunes Colony offers a large swimming pool, a jacuzzi, tennis courts, bocce ball, shuffleboard, and a sand volleyball court.

This is our family vacation home, we've made many wonderful memories here and we hope you will too!

Amazing!

We had a perfect stay! The place was exactly as described. Our first night we had the most beautiful sunset. The remaining of the days were a little foggy, but I loved it! Will definitely save this place for future stays. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home!

Family trip

The house is steps away from the beach. Host had binoculars in the living room and we were able to see whales out in the ocean. We saw dolphins swimming while down at the beach. Bunkroom with loft was great for kids. Magical weekend great for families.

Amazing for family time

Great property at moss landing

Our third trip to moss landing but first at this rental. Amazing views as always. Unit is very well lit and furnished. If you have kids they will love the bunk room and loft. Everything is very cozy and comfortable. Great communication with host.

Great house with great hosts

We love the layout of the house. It was clean, super close to the beach and check-in was a breeze. We were 2 adults and 2 girls, and we loved the entire stay. Lyssa was very nice and prompt to respond. I recommend this house for any family that plans to stay in the colony for a quaint vacation. Thanks Arin

Amazing stay

We loved this property! I went with a friend and our kids and it was absolutely perfect for us. The house was so comfortable and relaxing, the kids loved the bunk beds and games, and the adults loved the view. Would definitely return!!

Perfect for a family get together

This property was awesome for our family. The ocean front views were so beautiful and the beach was only a few steps away. The property has a pool, hot tub and other onsite activities. The upper loft space was perfect for the grandchildren and having 3 bathrooms available was a big plus. The location is close to many interesting sites such as the Monterey Aquarium, 17 Mile Drive, Carmel, and a state park. We also appreciated the host’s suggestions for nearby food choices. We thoroughly enjoyed our time!

Amazing place!

This home has the perfect beach vibe without being overdone. Super comfortable, cozy, and welcoming. We did struggle with the TV set up a bit and decks could be cleared off to make more room for relaxing and enjoying the amazing views. A perfect family house!

Excellent

We had a wonderful stay at this property. My kids especially loved the games, the bunk room, and the play area above the bunks. Unbeatable view of the ocean and so nice to be steps away from the beach. Subtracted one star from "cleanliness" category because there were a lot of ants, but didn't substantially detract from our stay. We would definitely go back!

Fabulous beach house

We had a wonderful time during our 5 day stay. Amazing location overlooking the ocean and the seals playing in the surf, our kids (9 and 12) voted the beach the best spot in the Bay Area for bodyboarding. The house is spotless and thoughtfully decorated, with a fully equipped kitchen and a ton of games and toys for all ages and a secret playroom. Community pool is easily accessible and also very pleasant, sadly the hot tub was closed due to covid. Highly recommend for family vacations!

"epic"

Great location close to the beach, beautifully clean sand. The kids room is"epic!" According to the 5yo and 7yo. We just wish they would sleep in a bit in the morning. The pool is farther away than from other units in the complex but now that the kids are older it's fine. Easy walk/scooter ride.

Amazing Ocean Front Vacation

We had an amazing time celebrating Mother's Day at the house. Everything inside is well thought out, the bunks were fantastic for our kids and waking up with ocean views for my wife and myself was spectacular. The kids loved the upstairs play area with video games, TV & Legos. Outside we sat on the porch overlooking the ocean every morning followed by a walk on the beach. At night we utilized the common pool & Hot tub which was just an adddd bonus. Highly-rated location and home ! Thanks for having us !!

Always Therapeutic

The property located in the Monterey Dunes Colony, it was perfect for a family stay. Secluded, beachfront property, steps away from a private beach. The Monterey Dunes never disappoints, perfect for getting away from everything and a short drive to Monterey and Santa Cruz. Property was perfect, clean, and had a variety of amenities to keep everyone busy. Property manager has great communication and easily accessible. My family will be back in the future got another stay.

Another wonderful stay

We’ve stayed at this property many times over the past few years, but I want to add a review to note that it remains a wonderful, magical place to spend time as a family. The host is wonderfully communicative (we were there during some crazy high winds and she texted to make sure we were ok and also noted where plenty of flashlights, lanterns, etc were available should we lose power in the storm). We never had any power interruptions and had a very easy and lovely stay, but I truly appreciated her thoughtfulness. I highly recommend this property to anyone who might enjoy some time at a very private, pristine, and lovely beach on the Northern California coast.

Pandemic Paradise :)

We had a lovely stay! The property is clean and updated and had everything we needed. We have stayed at Monterey Dunes Colony more than 10 times and this unit was among the very best we have stayed at. This was the first time we’ve been to the dunes with our young kids (3.75 and 10 months) and it was a wonderful place to stay with them. Great toys and games and thoughtful touches like little protective bumpers on the corners of the coffee table so I wasn’t panicking about our baby bonking his head when he teetered around. We have been **very** cautious with our risk exposure during this COVID pandemic and we really appreciated the extra measures that the owners undertook to ensure safety and cleanliness. It was also so easy to socially distance on the beach here— we saw only a few other people each day during the entire week and had the beach to ourselves most of the time. Communication with the owner was great and she kindly gave us advice during our stay about when we might be most likely to find sand dollars at the beach when my daughter became obsessed with them. :) We actually just returned from the property today and have already booked another stay at the same spot because it was so perfect. Book without hesitation, it’s totally worth the cost.

The Beach House We Always Wanted

The Vanderbeek's place was PERFECT for our family of six (kids 6 and 8 plus grandparents). The house is spacious, updated, comfortable, clean, well supplied, and in an absolutely perfect location. The unit looks out on the ocean and has an amazing layout...you have water views from every floor and separate spaces for kids (if you have them) and adults. The elevated floorplan lets you dine and watch the sun drop into Monterey Bay. The upstairs great room is huge and the comfortable beanbag chairs made for a great nap! and fully stocked with games for kids of every age. You can't run out of things to do here. You can walk the beach for miles. The community rec area is awesome, well-maintained, and just a short walk away. We played tennis and swam every day...didn't even have time to get to the shuffleboard, bocce, and beach volleyball. And less than 10 minutes in the car got us to Moss Landing for an eco tour into Elkhorn Slough to watch the sea otters and seals play. If you have kids, the bunk beds and hidden playspace are absolutely amazing. There are tons of toys and games; our girls didn't get to use half of them because they enjoyed the legos so much. The owners were super responsive to our questions and we will absolutely be coming back...we couldn't imagine a more inviting or relaxing place!

Great Beach Stay

Home is located on the beach, so sunsets were beautiful! A quick 30 minute drive from Monterey and Carmel so had plenty of opportunity to see attractions.!
