Friends trip

Stayed with college friends. Listing was true to photos. Basement refrigerator did not work, but was able to make the kitchen refrigerator work out. Could use some quality knives. Good response from host.

Beautiful Lake Views

Had a wonderful time with family at this lake house. House was clean and well stocked. Cooking pans and utensils were great. Would definitely come back with family.

Great for a family reunion!

Great house, fantastic location! It was wonderful to rent the boat from the owner as well. Lots of towels available and the two washers and dryers were amazing! The frying pans in the kitchen need to be replaced because they are all non stick and are scratched so they are not healthy to use. The house sleeps 20 but there is only dining room seating for 8 to 10. Luckily we brought a large folding table and the house had folding chairs but it would be great if they had another table at the house. Overall, it’s an excellent VRBO! Thanks for a great stay!

Plenty of beds

The number of bedrooms was great. Would have been nice to have one of the bedrooms have a bathroom attached but we made do sharing the hall bathroom. The basement was great for the kids and the dock looked very nice too (we were winter renters so did not use). The only negatives for us was that for a home that sleeps 20, we would have liked at least one cupboard for food. We had to put everything on the counter and so we didn't have any prep room other than the island and that was also the stovetop so not much to work with. We like to cook and eat in a lot so , for some, this wouldn't have been a problem. There were two large refrigerators and so that was great having two for the drinks and things that need to be refrigerated. One other thing that would have been nice, is to have small garbage cans in the bathrooms and bedrooms. None of them had any and so you had to carry tissues, , wrappers, etc. out to the kitchen garbage. All in all, a great stay :)

Perfect for our group

Spacious and beautiful house on the lake. Perfect for a group of women who needed a ton of space and multiple bathrooms. Perfect event space for our gathering, and close to breweries and wineries.

Lots of room for our gang! Great location.

Beds comfortable, plenty of dishes and glassware. Only negative is it needs a new larger skillet. Sadly weather was not cooperative.

Weekend stay for a wedding

We were in town for a wedding. A large group of family members stayed at the house. It was perfect for everyone. Plenty of space. The property was well maintained. The dock was awesome and having the boat access was a nice feature. Would definitely stay again.

Great time

Had a great week at the house. Plenty of room for our group of thirteen. Everyone had their own space. Only drawback were the tiny showers in two of the bathrooms. Having access to the pontoon was a big plus.

60th wedding anniversary with entire family

The house is well located on the lake. Swimming off the dock is great. the bedrooms accommodated all of our 17 family members very comfortably. The owner rented his pontoon boat to us for the week which was put to good use. Great vacation.

Great family reunion spot

We thoroughly enjoyed the property. It had all the amenities we were looking for. We wanted to tell you about a few issues: - communication could be better over email. I did not logon onto to VRBO weekly after 1st installment and did not see the 2nd was due. Maybe send reminders over email? - the outside furniture on 2nd floor was very hard - needs thicker cushions - 2 coffee makers would be better - the pool cues do not have felt on the tips

GREAT SPACE

I had 2 children with spouses and 4 grandchildren, and everyone had their own space, what a treat. The downstairs was great as it was used for gaming when it rained. Proximity to Boatworks was wonderful to take boat for overnight. Would love to see a couple of loungers for the lawn, a couple of Adirondack chairs on the dock, and a couple of new fry pans. With all that said we have rented it again for next July.

15 years of family trips to Lake location

First time at Canandaigua our family loved the lake and location and the dock was perfect for our family as we love swimming in the lake We had access to my son’s boat and loved exploring the lake We also found fun biking trails and the downtown area was very nice Had a great dinner at Kix and lunch at Public House Minor problem with downstairs bedrooms AC as one of the units was set to heat instead of cooling I don’t know if it was done by us or the previous occupant but clearer instructions would be helpful Owner rectified the issue promptly ! Good Experience ☝️

Family base for wine tasting

Enjoyed the view of the lake while eating breakfast in the main room downstairs or from the two small balconies. Clean and well laid out house, especially for a large group like ours. Plenty of space and we loved having 4 full baths. The grill was plenty big to feed a large group as well. Two possible improvements include a light over the grill so flashlights are not needed in this time of year and adding an electric griddle to cook pancakes for a large group. Pan cooking bacon and pancakes could be a slow process with just the pans on site. Overall great location and great house.

Fall Friends Getaway

We visited in September, 4 couples, for a 4 day friends getaway to the wineries. We enjoyed each others company along with beautiful sunsets at the house. We were able to enjoy the outside fire pit , but missed the changing of the leaves probably by a week or two. The house was large enough for all of us to enjoy our own space, while the the open floor plan on the first floor was great for dinner and hanging by the fireplace for an evening drink. We were disappointed in the cleanliness of the house on arrival. The floors in the living area were very dusty . The light fixtures in the kitchen and dining area were also covered in dust. In edition, the frying pans in the kitchen could use an upgrade . They were too small to make food for a group of 8 and they did not sit flat on the cook top. Overall, we enjoyed our visit but we feel a little more attention to detail would give the house a 5 star review .

Generally very good

It is a nice cottage with a good dock. There is good parking. It sleeps 20 very well. However, it does not have table and chairs for 20. The owner added 10 folding chairs at our request and that worked out fine. If he would now just provide a folding table that will sit 8 or 10, the 20 people could eat etc. together (knowing the situation, I brought my own folding table). The kitchen stove requires a genius with the luck of the Irish to make it work. If there are keys to correct operation, they should be provided. We have a boat and the last time we rented this cottage there was a mooring buoy. It was disabled and the owner tried to get it fixed but was unsuccessful. He did get the whips fixed and they worked reasonably well - though we did not have a bad storm the week we were there. There should be shades on the front windows and doors in the dining room - the early evening sun makes it difficult for the people sitting on one side of the dining table. There was a brown-out one afternoon we were there and the owner responded as well as could be expected in response to this unusual occurrence. In spite of these minor issues, we enjoyed our stay.

Great vacation

Property as advertises, large great room, plenty of room. Dock, decks and lake view exactly what we were looking for. Minor issues with reset to dishwasher and cable were quickly resolved over the phone with the property manager, response time to voice mail was excellent, even on Sunday night..

Great place, wonderful property managers

Just can't say enough good about our experience renting this house. The house was clean and big enough for our whole crew. We spoke with the property manager several times because we rented the pontoon and a couple kayaks through them also. Very responsive any time we called. We spent a lot of time on the dock and in the water (mostly in boats). It was a great place to see a pretty sunset and, as we were there over the 4th of July, the fireworks around the lake.

great location and views

We rented this property July 9-16 2022. There were a few issues at check in, and the owner was easy to contact and quick to address. Rental of the boat on property was a huge plus--good price for rental and so convenient! Overall a great week! We left the following feedback for improvement: - 2 coffee pots - better cushions for outdoor chairs - pizza cutter - night stands in each room with a lamp - small chair in each room (where possible) - tea kettle - more wine glasses and coffee mugs - sun shades for window/doors facing lake - at least one more recycling container outside - get deck railing repaired - get dishwasher fixed (req'd to unplug for 30 sec then back in before using) - put stove instructions in guest book

Kind of ridiculous

We stayed with 6 adults and 5 kids all under the age of 6. 1. The dishwasher didn't work. I let the property manager/owner know and he said someone would come by to look at it and on one ever did. 2. The balcony was in terrible shape. The railing wasn't even screwed into place at the bottom. We had to bungee it to prevent kids from falling through. 3. The stove is crazy. It's electric and could only get 2 of the burners to work consistently. 4. There was no wine owner. Really, vacation spot with no wine opener? 5. They put the crib in the bedroom with massive skylights to make sure you infant wakes up as early as possible. I could go on... but i'll stop there. In summary, look keep looking. If the cost was 1/4 of what they are charging it'd be fine. But if you are going to charge premium prices you should atleast have reasonable amenities.
