Great location !

This was our 3rd time renting this unit. The management company was very attentive to our needs during our stay. The location and view are amazing and cannot be beat. The internet was perfect too. We had a great 2 weeks. We will def stay again in the future.

Not Shipwatch review

Even though this unit was booked, I was contacted by the rental company and was told it was compromised with water intrusion from Hurricane Debby. My wife and I were switched to another property and charged an additional $240+. The property we stayed in was an upstairs unit with 3 bedrooms. There was only the 2 of us. Water stains were on the ceiling in the dining area. The smoke detector had been disconnected and left atop the refrigerator. The interior was dated but it did have a nice view. I'm not that picky about a dated interior but wonder if the switch in units was valid since we were charged additional for the inconvenience. Again, not a review of Shipwatch but that is my only option to review with VRBO since that is what I booked.

Four Star

Master bathroom needs new bathtub drain and stopper so that bathtub can be used. Screens need to be repaired and replaced on bedroom sliders and door in living room. Dishwasher doesn't dry dishes. Thanks!

deferred maintenance

1385 Shipwatch was a nice unit with an excellent view of the ocean. However, cleanliness was poor and there was much deferred maintenance.. Grime and grit were in the bathrooms. Floors were black with dirt, mold on the shower curtains and mold on the dining chair cushions. Return air vents in the hallway literally had dirt falling of it. The sliding screen door in the second bedroom was falling off the track and too precarious to open. Draperies need to be properly hung. Kitchen needs a good cleaning, stove not clean. Kitchen was poorly equipped. Bathroom fixtures need to be replaced. It wouldn't take much to get this unit shining. It looks as if no one is checking on housekeeping. There is a minimal amount of cleaning being done. The upright dresser in the second bedroom is in bad shape. The top drawer cannot be pulled open without falling on the floor. The Lampshade has hopes in it as well as considerable chipped paint.

Off to a rough start with the oven not working, it was fixed on Wednesday and we arrived on Saturday. Saturday, I open the oven door and it just fell off. The bolts weren't secure but my husband had a drill in his truck and was able to fix it. On Thursday, Nov 17 I texted about the whereabouts of the sheets and pillow cases for the blow up mattress and never got a response. The sheets on the guest bed were very old and pilled and we never found any pillow cases or the extra sheets. There wasn't even a mattress cover for the guest bed. The mattresses should be replaced in both bedrooms. The plumbers came to fix the toilets that were running but could not fix the master bedroom tub faucet which was dripping ALOT. It was very annoying at night with the dripping. Even with the bathroom door shut, you could still hear it dripping. The outdoor balcony/porch was not cleaned. The table had not been wiped off in I don't know when and I swept, vacuumed the porch area and washed the rug. Also, we did not realize that we would not have the use of the tennis facilities. When we rented this unit before, we did. We were very disappointed.

Beautiful location

Love Amelia Island & this condo has amazing views! Easy check in & good communication with property management. Unit could use some updating, specifically both bathrooms. The condo was clean, comfortable, bright & a great location!

Four Star

5 star location. 5 star check-in process. 5 star service. The unit itself needs some TLC. Appliances need to be addressed. The unit interior is 3 star, or maybe less. I would return but with the many options on the Plantation I would think twice due to some of the condition of the unit. The unit was quite spacious however, which is a positive. I give it a solid 4 stars.

Our stay at 1385 ShipWatch.

Lovely can condo. Super nice and big sofas with two great swivel rockers . Large windows in gathering room, with beautiful views! Nice kitchen and well appointed. Nice large deck. Mock's rental was very accommodating with our stay at this condo.

July 2nd through July 9th

We had a few issues with the unit! 1. The second bedrooms sliding door was broke and would not close all the way. We called maintenance the first night we were there and even sent pictures, and no one ever showed up. We had to duct tape the opening to keep the humid air from entering the bedroom. 2. The door handle to the balcony from the living room was broke. Someone in our group got locked out on the balcony even though the handle was in the unlocked position. Thankfully someone else was there to let her in. 3. The handle from the oven fell off on one side. I was able to tighten it enough for it to stay on but needs the proper tool. 4. The dishwasher was disgusting! Black scum was on the bottom of the washer. We would not use it! We washed everything by hand. We loved the unit's location to the beach and pool area. The view from the balcony was worth the trip!

Tropical retreat

Perfect location with a million dollar view. Rooms were very clean. Only reason I didn't give a 5-star rating was the deck furniture had not been cleaned in a while and not enough umbrellas at the pool, otherwise enjoyed our stay.

Shipwatch 1385

This condo has an amazing view of the ocean and we loved just looking out the big windows in the family room. The bedrooms were big and had a lot of storage. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen wasn't stocked very well for 4+ people unless you wash dishes everyday. The dishwasher is pretty gross and doesn't dry the dishes. The condo was clean but the floors could use a little work as our feet were pretty dirty after walking barefoot. I would stay here again the pool and beach is beautiful.

1385 Ship Watch

Very nice condo. Our second time in this condo.There was another couple with us. Walked more of trails this time. Check In & Out was Easy. Mock's does a great job as a rental company. Would stay here again.

Great location and value

Property has some deferred maintenance but over-all is a good value. Spacious, well equipped, and RIGHT ON the beach, with a big heated pool. We're coming back.

Nice stay on a beautiful beach

My sister and I were really happy with the big condo and its glorious view of the Atlantic. We both had large bedrooms and our own bathrooms, along with the spacious living room, great balcony and easy-to-use kitchen. Our main qualm was that things were not quite as clean and well-maintained as they should have been. The tile floor was dirty (you could tell if you walked across it barefoot) and not all the surfaces were dusted. (There was a layer of dust, for example, on the glass coffee table.) A couple of the light bulbs were out, and the chandelier over the dining-room table was wonky: It dimmed and brightened of its own accord, and the bulbs didn't match. Also, we read in a previous comment that the guests couldn't figure out how to use the TVs; neither could we. PLEASE, leave some instructions. None of these little things ruined our stay, of course, but they added up to a place that needs some TLC. We loved the location, the quiet, and the space, and we loved poking around Fernandina Beach and eating at several terrific restaurants. We'd love to come back, once you get a few things sorted out.

Beautiful view

Lovely property with a beautiful view. I was a little disappointed in the cleanliness of the place. It felt like they only cleaned what was necessary. Bathrooms could use some updates but all in all, it was a great place to stay for the price. I would definitely stay here again!

Enjoyed the condo.

Very clean and access to beach was great. Pool was excellent and clean. Only suggestion is bathrooms need updating with new faucet and shower fixtures --- they are old and worn badly. Also, door knob on outside of door to patio is corroded and in great need of replacement. Otherwise, kitchen, furniture in den and bedrooms was nice. We enjoyed the condo and would stay again.

Nice stay, but condo could use some cleaning

There is an infestation of gnats and roaches. I sent a note first night about this and management co never responded. Condo could use a thorough cleaning. Seems like cleaning co did bare minimum and was surprised given covid is still on the rise. Nice view from the condo but if you have a beach cart, be prepared for a lot of steps to get to the beach.

1385 Shipwatch

Enjoyed our stay at this villa and that we could bring our dogs. Thankful it was an oceanfront view. Feel like the unit would benefit from a ceiling fan in the living room and that instructions be provided as to how to use the TV's in the bedrooms. We did see a few bugs in the villa including a palmetto bug.

Beautiful view and great condo

We really enjoyed our stay. There was confusion in the beginning due to the listing stating an occupancy of 6 people to include a convertible sofa bed. Upon arrival, we determined there was no sofa bed. The management company was very good about rectifying the situation. They delivered a brand new air mattress and linens to accommodate our needs. Overall we enjoyed our time very much and hope to return.

Relaxing Beach vacation

The unit was very comfortable. It is pet friendly, which is a plus for me, I appreciated the flat screen TVs in the bedrooms and living area with all channels. The beach and pool were uncrowded & grounds very well kept. One very minor issue maintenance concern was taken care of by Mock Vacation rentals immediately, with excellent communication. Just to note for those who may have mobility issues – this unit is located on the second elevator level—Level “B”; Level “A” is ground floor. However, when you exit the elevator at level B, there is a series of about 7-8 steps up from the elevator to the actual units on the same level (so maybe that is what makes it 3rd floor, while being level B). This was not an issue for me, but it could be a surprise if one is not expecting it and thinks the elevator goes to the unit entrance.
