Great spot in the lake district of Connecticut, excellent and cute cafe walkable from property - rail trail is right behind the property and the Appalachian Trail is a short walk down the street from the property. Lakeville and Millerton are a very short drive away with a multitude of restaurant options.

We had such a pleasant time in this lovely cottage! It was adorable, comfortable, and well-stocked. I spent a great deal of time reading on the window seat. Edgar and Lyndell were communicative hosts who made us feel right at home. We stayed here for a week while we sent our kid to day camp nearby and really enjoyed being able to walk into town for coffee or to work at the gorgeous library. The nearby beach in Lakeville and seeing Appalachian Trail hikers were highlights. Thank you so much for having us!

This sweet cottage was absolutely clean, quiet, and in a location that was perfect for the two of us. We did not spend a great deal of time there, but were mostly pleased with everything. The only drawback for us, was the bed was not comfortable (for us). This does not mean that it would be that way for everyone; we are simply accustomed to a king sized bed with more support. That said, we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quaint, peaceful, comfortable, and conveniently located place to stay. An aside comment... if I was alone, I could easily live in this adorable cottage year-round.

Lyndell was a terrific host, open communication, helpful, positive and fun. We also really liked being right on the rail trail. Very cozy cute place.

Lovely cottage, wonderful hosts!

We (2 adults) and our two (5yr old) kids stayed with Lyndell over the 4th of July long weekend. Our host was kind, helpful and friendly, and the cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Highly recommended!

Perect Little Hideaway

The Cottage was the perect spot for our weekend away, it was spotles, well apointed and close to plenty of things to do. The property was quiet and peaceful and our hosts were really lovely!

Comfortable cottage with helpful host 5 minute walk from centre of town

I stayed with my 2 year old daughter for 3 nights. Location is close to my oldest daughter’s boarding school. Lyndall was a wonderful host. The cottage was very comfortable and the light and views of the trees from both the living room and bedroom windows was lovely. We enjoyed sitting in the living room particularly, where my daughter played with her toys and watched TV. Although kitchen is old, it was clean and had everything we needed. I liked that the cottage is set at the back of the property, well away from the Main Street, with plenty of space between the main house and the cottage too. Communication with Lyndall was easy. She was very helpful sourcing a babysitter at late notice for 2 different days for us, for which I’m very grateful. She also met my last minute request for a late checkout which was most helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Ideal in every word

The grounds and location provided great access to the best the area had to offer (hiking, fishing, golfing and relaxation) while the house was a home away from home. Definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a getaway in NW Connecticut.

Perfect for a weekend getaway

We stayed 2 nights while attending a wedding in Salisbury. This cozy cottage was perfect for our stay. The home had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and our communication with the hosts was top notch. It is located close to local shops and dining, and we were also able to do a bit of hiking on the Appalachian Trail while there. We will definitely plan to stay here again next time we are in the area.

A peaceful hideaway

A charming retreat in beautiful countryside convenient to small town offering all your needs. Very helpful owner on property. Area near multiple activities for sports and the arts.
