Large, elegant & comfortable suite for your Vancouver getaway!

Wake up in a spacious and fully equipped two bedroom garden ( 950 sq ft.) suite in the basement of a heritage house in Vancouver's Little Italy. Supplied with dark roast coffee, tea, coco and a few comfort supplies. Decorated with elegance and comfort in mind, ceilings are high in this well maintained suite stocked with all the amenities you’ll need for your visit.

The two large queen bedrooms have comfy beds and fluffy duvets and pillows with nice linens. Enjoy spacious living, dining area and open plan kitchen that is fully equipped to create a delicious meal.

Enjoy your stay in this clean, comfortable, and fully equipped garden level suite. Note that in order to secure our short term rental license we removed the full range and replaced it with a cooktop. There is also an oven for toasting, baking and pizzas.

Direct access through the garden by keypad to the common entrance, and the private entrance to the guest suite through a common area waiting for you. Enjoy the English inspired garden retreat.

Steps away from great cafes, convenience shops, transit connections, restaurants, micro breweries, shopping, and nightlife. 10 min from downtown, short drive to hiking trails & sandy beaches, the PNE and fairgrounds, plenty of free street parking.

Our character house is located in quiet, tree-lined residential neighbourhood that links directly to downtown, beaches and the mountain slopes.

5 Blocks to the famous Commerical Drive, an area known in Vancouver as Little Italy. You can walk to the city’s best gelato, Italian cafes, shops and a diverse selection of great restaurants, cafes, bakeries. We have wonderful cafes and a 7/11 for all the basic needs just blocks away.

Getting around
Ample, free street parking, with some permit spots to avoid - Happy to help with that!
5 block walk to Commercial Drive.
Public transit is access is steps away, linking to city- spanning Sky train.
10 min drive to downtown core.

We maintain a clean and welcoming suite with hosting and cleaning practices in place since our opening at the beginning of COVID-19:

✔ All of our rooms get thoroughly disinfected using disinfectant.
✔ Cleaning with bleach and similar products to disinfect all bathrooms and kitchens
✔ Use a germicidal disinfectant for the following high-touch surfaces: door and window handles, cabinet and drawer handle, TV remotes, and all light switches.

Great location for a Vancouver weekend!

Jollean's suite was clean, comfortable and well located with ample parking. She was easy to communicate with and very helpful. Would stay here again!

Great location and even better suite!

We stayed a weekend here, and had an excellent time! The suite is near Little Italy, so there's plenty of great food within walking distance. There's also a bus stop where the 007 line goes straight to downtown, so no need to worry about parking there if you visit! The owner was incredibly accommodating and hopefully we'll be able to come back before too long!

Quick Boys trip

Grandfather, son and grandson stayed here for two nights to attend the Wrexham v. Whitecaps soccer game in July. Unit offered all that we needed for the short stay and host was very helpful. Location near little Italy offered lots of choices for cafes and restaurants.

Lovely stay

We really enjoyed our short stay at this suite. Jollean is very friendly and easy to communicate with. East Vancouver is my favourite part of the city and the suite location is close to the best areas The suite stayed cool in the heat and is well laid out with everything you need. I would definitely stay here again.

Girl’s Weekend Business and Pleasure

Went to Vancouver for a conference and stayed at the VRBO. House was close to downtown and close to public transportation. With a quick Uber ride you could be in downtown. Place was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Would stay again if I was visiting Vancouver.

A quiet comfortable place to stay near Commercial Drive

This basement suite was very well equipped and comfortable for our week stay here with our son. There was a toaster oven and hot plate which were adequate for our needs. Communication with the property manager were very easy and she made us feel very welcome. She provided us with a space heater to make sure we were warm enough as the heating was controlled from upstairs and this is a basement. We were able to walk to restaurants and grocery stores and there was parking on the street outside. A quiet street and a great location.

2 nights post cruise to visit Vancouver

Property was clean and well maintained. Lots of space for the 4 of us (2 couples). Beds very confortable. Coffee, tea and coco available to use. 7/11 across the street to get what we needed for breakfast. Jollean was quick to answer all our inquiries/needs and gave us a lot of information on what to see or do. Public transportation is near and easy to access. Lots of restaurants within 15 minutes walk. Would come back with great pleasure!

Really Nice appartment in Vancouver. Lots of space. The only thing I can think is that you don’t have that much daylight. For the rest, perfect!!!

Luke Combs BC trip

The ad was very accurate and it's a wonderful little appt. Our host was very helpful and check in went smooth. Our host made suggestions for restaurants and tourist attractions. We have already decided to return to BC and have already spoken with our host about a return visit. Luke Combs was amazing!

Bedroom had plenty dirt , mattress smaller than bad, linen and cushion with mold Odeur even worse than the apartment. The add had a stove and oven, which both didn’t exist

Grandview

Bathroom needs fixing behind toilet. Mouldy baseboards and bubbling paint. The whole place smelled a bit musty. I suggest this gets fixed before renting it out again. However the bed was wonderful, and the kitchen had everything that was needed.

Just fine but a little chilly

This property met all of our needs during our brief, but wonderful stay in Vancouver! The owner was very friendly, helpful, and responsive when necessary. The location was convenient to many delicious restaurants, and street parking worked well for us. My only suggestions for improvement would be seating for 1 more person in the living room and better chairs for the dining area. Additionally, I think it would be good to make it known that due to concerns about COVID, space heaters were the only source of heat in this basement apartment during our stay. Although the space eventually warmed up, we were very cold at times.

Mixed review

This is not an elegant suite by any means! It's a basement suite, comfortable enough for sure, in a great area, and we were busy visiting friends, so it suited us fine but elegant it is not. It's basically a basement suite under a family home, and we could hear the woman upstairs loud and clear one day complaining of pot smell, how "totally unacceptable it is, it must be the guests", etc all the while I am trying to have a much needed nap, failed. Yes, I smoke cannabis for my cancer, it works wonders and gives me quality of life. I only smoke outside, there were no signs or messages saying please smoke off the property (it was pouring rain but I would have complied), so yes it smells. The fact that I could hear her yelling about it made me feel really uncomfortable, like I was intruding. It's not only legal but far better than smelling must, mold and the upstairs cooking food, plus it's Vancouver! The furnace and fridge are also very loud. It was freezing cold our first night, we found a portable heater but had to keep moving it to heat both bedrooms and living room. The second night was warmer. There are only 2 windows in the entire suite as well, only one in the main kitchen/dining/living room area and it's tinted grey so on a typical Vancouver day, it felt dismal down there. If it wasn't for the yelling and the misinformation about elegance, I'd leave a better review. Also a small yappy dog was around but that's a minor issue for me.

Could use a little more love and care

The host was very easy to get into contact with and check in was a breeze. They mentioned that parking was easy however there were not many open parking spots while we were there that we were able to park in due to needing permits. So parking was a little difficult to find. It also took awhile to get into the touristy areas of town. The side entryway to go to the door to the property was very dark and uneven so it was hard to be safe and not trip walking down the side compartment. We were also told there would be a well lit path. You could hear everyone moving upstairs and neighbors singing at night and throughout the day which made it difficult to sleep. Most of the house appeared to be clean however when inspecting further there was a lot of dust and bugs throughout the property and dead spiders on many of the corner walls. Also the previous guests left food in the microwave and toaster oven that was moldy and smelly and there was hair in the ice that was left in the fridge. They also only gave two towels for two people for a five night stay and when we found other towels in the closet and used those they were upset we went into the linen closet. I was told to put all the used towels on the floor in the bathroom prior to checkout but was scolded that the towels were in a pile on the bathroom floor. Overall for the cheaper price it was an okay stay but hopefully they maintain it better for future residents but I would probably suggest a different VRBO
