We had the best time. The house was very spacious and clean. We spent a lot of time on the swimming dock. The host was very responsive. We would stay here again.

Peaceful and Comfortable Stay!

I had a wonderful experience staying at this home. Everything was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described in the listing. The bed was cozy, the kitchen had all the essentials, and the neighborhood was quiet and safe. I felt very relaxed during my stay.The host was very kind, responsive, and easy to communicate with. Check-in was smooth and simple. I really appreciated all the thoughtful touches that made me feel at home.I would happily stay here again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and pleasant stay. Great Stay!

Loved this property and location. Easy access to water and a great view from the back deck. Plenty of space for the family and kids loved the game room. Would gladly stay here again.

Great weekend on the lake

Location on the lake is ideal. My family had a blast Swimming and fishing off the dock. There's a separate boat slip if you rent a boat. House had everything you need and plenty of space. And the host is friendly and responsive.

Quick Get-A-Way

Weekend get away

The property was in excellent condition and we found the house/amenities just as listed. The house is quite large with many bedrooms, is able to accommodate large group meals, and has plenty of space to gather. The owner was very helpful and easy to work with. We hope to make a return trip!

Beautiful home for an exceptional getaway at the lake!

Not only is this home located on a fantastic lot with immediate access to the lake, but also it is well worth the experience to book with this owner. Every small detail is well planned for a stress-free stay, and Chris was perfectly accommodating in every way! Communication was fantastic, everything was cleaned and all instructions very easy to follow for easy check-in and check-out. Highly recommend!

Wonderful weekend

Despite the weather -- rainy and cool -- we had a wonderful weekend with family and friends. There was ample room and it was very clean! We had a few questions that came up in advance and throughout the weekend and Chris was very responsive and accommodating. We would definitely recommend and come back!

Friendsgiving 2023!

My friends and I rented this lovely property for our annual Friendsgiving weekend. The house was beautiful and the view of the lake can’t be beat! This property is spacious with a great flow throughout the house. Plenty of space and lot of fun! We would love to return! :)

Another wonderful week.

This is our second year in a row coming here immediately after the kids get out of school. 24 hours into the visit, we locked down next year, too. The house has the absolute ideal layout for a vacation home, the amenities are fantastic, but I guarantee you'll spend most of your time down at and on the water. Thanks again to Chris and family for hosting us!

Beautiful view and super clean!

The property is well maintained and super clean. The house is also well stocked with essentials such as hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels etc. The owner was very responsive throughout our stay. The view from the house is amazing and the covered deck on the lake was perfect for hanging out and playing cards. The lake can get a little busy with boats and jet skis but we didn’t mind it. We would definitely stay here again. Also, the 5th bedroom upstairs is rather small so definitely can only fit one person.

High Quality Stay and a High Quality Host

Exactly like the pictures, if not better. The home is well-labeled so it is extremely easy to find out what switches turn on lights. There is an in-depth set of instructions covering almost any question you could have and a reasonable checkout checklist. Chris was flexible with our needs and responsive. Would highly recommend

Best 13th birthday weekend on a beautiful, convenient, amazingly clean Lake Anna property!

We soooo fortunate and lucky to have found Weekend at Bernie’s at Lake Anna to celebrate my daughter’s 13th birthday with a few of her friends and my parents over a long Labor Day weekend. With work and school, we weren’t certain we would find a rental on the lake with the space we needed for a just a long weekend (and not a rental for the whole week). The house looked just like the photos … spacious, super clean, plenty of room for my parents to take over the master bedroom with privacy (and quiet) in the back and the girls basically had the whole lower floor to themselves with the awesome game room, hanging chairs and mini kitchen. We rented a boat for two days/one night and the dock was perfect for jumping, swimming, launching our floats and kayaks. We grilled out one night (great that Food Lion was only 8 miles) and we ended up dining outside with Live music at the Cove just around the corner and across the bridge the other two nights. We would love to come back again!!!!! Thank you to the hosts for making us feel welcome and answering any question I had!!!! You have a beautiful place to proud of!!

Great little weekend getaway!

We really enjoyed staying here for the weekend. The neighborhood is quiet peaceful, and the waterfront is lovely. The house was super clean and we’ll kept. A very modern decor inside with comfortable furnishings. It’s amazing how much space is packed into this house! Plenty of rooms for family and guests to both be together and have their “space”. Kitchen had everything we needed for prepping our meals. The NG Weber Grill was super nice. WiFi worked great and reached all the way to the dock. The only reason I gave 4 stars for checkin process (good) is because I had almost no cell phone coverage in the area, so I was delayed in getting into the house until I could get the WiFi password to download the lock app for the front door. So just word of advice, download the lock app before you go, and request WiFi password before you go…. This would make it super smooth. Our kids really enjoyed the game room. And the 6 of us in my family had a very comfortable movie night in the living room. The owner really made sure he took care of everything, by coming out the day before and checking everything, he noticed the AC unit to the master bedroom was t working and since a repair person couldn’t come out until the next week, he put in a window unit to cool that room and let us know ahead of time. Little secrecy fact: I love the noise of a window unit AC…. Takes me back to my childhood - so no complaints at there! Lol. Would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a quiet weekend on Lake Anna. Thanks again to the owner!!!!

Outstanding property with great lake access. Well maintained boat dock. Home is well designed for a perfect lake experience including a game room, ‘Board Room’ for storing lake accessories, outdoor fire pit, outdoor gas grills and a very good air conditioning system.

Great location on the lake and the house is well thought out for families with adults up and children downstairs. Big kitchen and large deck for watching the lake activities. Nice boat slip dock area with covered seating space. Owner is excellent with communication.

Great place and owner, perfect for a week on the lake especially if you love to boat! Took 8 teenagers and my 85yr old mother w me for a week at the lake and had a blast, house is open, bright and well maintained. Enough extras to keep them busy with a game room downstairs and game closet for the evenings and time spent inside. This is our 5th year coming to Lake Anna and finally found a place for a repeat visit next summer!

Perfect!

The house and property were exactly what we were looking for. The lake access and set up on the dock was great. The house is huge, we had plenty of room to spread out as needed. Even the neighbors were very nice. Chris is super nice and extremely attentive and generous. Our group has been going to lake Anna for the last 5-6 years and this is by far the best place we have stayed! We will definitely be back!

Relaxing Getaway

We have been going to Lake Anna the past 3 years for New Year's and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Weekend at Bernie's. There was enough space for our two families and plenty of room for everyone to play or relax. The home is clean and the outdoor space is also lovely. We hope to be back soon!

Awesome place in a beautiful location

A group of us who all went to grad school together stayed here and it was just perfect! The house has everything you could possibly need when it comes to cooking/eating/drinking. It is extremely spacious and well-kept. Our host Chris was extremely helpful, kind and very easy to communicate with. I would absolutely recommend staying here if you are looking into something in the area.

Perfect family getaway

We were amazed by this spacious home. The owner was very friendly and informative, answering all questions about the property and area. We enjoyed coffee on the deck every morning overlooking Lake Anna, boating, swimming and plenty dining nearby. So many beautiful memories made.

4 Days on the Lake

Really enjoyed the Weekend at Bernie's property. House was perfect for our group, newly redone, great space for cooking, eating, card playing both indoors and out. Swimming dock was great, spent a lot of time down by the water. One of the best places we have rented on Lake Anna and we go every year.

This home is one of the original homes on Lake Anna. My parents bought this beautiful property in 1976. I was 8 years old. They built a little cottage that we used on weekends as a getaway from the hustle and bustle of Northern Virginia. We didn't have TV. We didn't have phones. It was more like camping really.
In the year 2000 my parents moved to the lake full time and did a major renovation. They quite literally built out in all four directions - towards the water, towards the street and on both sides. The result is an unbelievably spacious, unique home, ideal for multi-family vacations. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms upstairs. Huge great room and kitchen with eat-in dining room connecting the two, overlooking the water. Basement with a queen bedroom, a bunk room, a full bathroom and a kitchenette. Massive deck that overlooks the water with ample space to spread out. And a game room and kids hang-out room.
My father - Bernie - passed on Pearl Harbor Day in Dec 2017, which is very symbolic to us, as he had a 32 year career with the navy and our parents met in Hawaii in 1967. In 2020 we decided to turn our home into a place that we could share with others. So we did another major renovation and had our first guests in July of 2020 - during a pandemic, of course. But the response has been overwhelming. Everyone just loves the home, the space, the views and the amenities. We welcome you to go to Facebook and search for Weekend at Bernies, Lake Anna. We work very hard to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. We are always seeking feedback and want to provide the best possible experience. When you're on vacation, you don't want to have to worry about anything related to the home or the amenities. So we go out of our way to make sure the home is clean, organized, well equipped and stocked with well maintained, nice amenities.
