This corner lot home with beach access just a few steps away is conveniently located to shopping, swimming, and dining. Enjoy the pool with afternoon sun, large decks, poolside refrigerator, bar, BBQ area with one gas grill, two charcoal grills, and lighted volleyball area. Landscaping and lawn areas for playing are added delights. It's just 550 feet to the beach access. Check out the awesome views from the huge deck!!

Amenities: Private unheated Pool, poolside bar, hot tub, gas fireplace, WiFi, six TVs, three DVD players, two Refrigerators, an outside Bar with bar stools, a whirlpool tub, a Keurig coffee maker, a basketball hoop, a lit volleyball court, a horseshoes set, bikes, and a gas grill. Enjoy 190 yards with beach access.

For January and February bookings, please contact the property management company to ensure the hot tub is available.
This property is managed by Vacasa North Carolina LLC
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.
Fireplaces are available November 1st through April 1st.
Private Pool Dates: The private pool is open May 1st through October 15th. The private pool is unavailable outside of these dates.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles.

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Week away from home

This house is the perfect size for our family, plenty of room to stretch out, swim, cook, read, be together without being confined. The walk to the beach is the perfect length, the kids enjoyed pulling their wagons to the beach. The house is comfortable, well loved, and the aged carpets reflect that.

Great Location!

Location was perfect - 1 block from beach access and 2 blocks from Food Lion. House was a great size. Furniture has seen better days. Loved the pool area. There was no private wifi which was surprising and a problem for us as a few of us needed to do some work remotely. Overall, we had a great week and would stay here again!

First time at second impulse

We felt comfortable the moment we entered the house. Our favorite room was the great room where we spent time together making & enjoying meals. The kids could be playing inside or out on the beautiful deck. The pool area was nice also, keeping the small children safe. The house had plenty of room, was well stocked, and clean as a beach house can be. The location is perfect, loved the walks to the beach. The carpet is old & worn, but shows the steps of many beach goers that have stayed at this wonderful home. Could use a dustpan!

Love this house but needs some TLC

We have rented this house several times over the past 12 years and we love the layout, the location, and all of the amenities provided. The beds are comfy, the kitchen is extremely well-stocked, there is plenty of hot water, lots of clothes hangers, pillows and linens, etc. Over the years, however, small issues have developed through wear and tear that need to be addressed. Many of the dresser drawers no longer move in and out of the dressers, several towel racks and toilet paper holders are missing or in need of repair, various light bulbs are burned out, there was a window screen propped up behind the door in one of the bedrooms, and there is a minor leak under the kitchen sink that has not been repaired correctly so it still requires a pan under the sink to catch slow dripping water from the pipes. Also, when we arrived for this most recent stay, it was 80 degrees but both air conditioner units were non-functioning. We opened a maintenance ticket and the repairs were completed within 2 days, but it was very disappointing to arrive at the house where it was obvious that the A/C was not working and yet no repairs had been initiated until we opened a maintenance ticket on the issue. We still love this house, but these small repair items need to be addressed to ensure that it continues to be a favorite for us.

Our Beach House

Have been coming to OBX fora very long time and have been staying at Second Impulse since 2014. The size, layout and location of the house is perfect for us and our two dogs. Love the recent upgrades to the flooring, appliances and pool! Everything was close to perfect. As much as we love the house we are not a big fans of Vacasa's current pricing policies which makes planning ahead for the next season more difficult than it was in the past when fixed prices were set in advance for the entire upcoming year. It says alot about the way prices are set when in September 2022 so many weeks are still available in 2023.

Great location and pool, but…

Everything was fine, but on the day before we were supposed to check out, sewage began entering the house via the laundry room. Rental staff was very attentive but we were told a problem with the septic tank occurred and our trip was cut short by a day.

Second Impulse

The location is the best part of this home. We've rented this home many times in the past and it really needs some TLC. The rug on the stairs is the original carpet, the internet wasn't very good and we needed to use the Hotspots onmour phones. The ac on the top level does not cool off that area which in my opinion is because there is no blinds or window coverings and the sun just heats the room up all day. Still had great weather and a great time despite a few issues.

Excellent gathering place

We stayed the week with our three sons and their families. Loved the multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, spacious kitchen, table where 9 of us could dine together, the large gathering room, the many decks, the swimming pool, the hot tub, the proximity to the beach and to groceries and shopping. That's a lot of great features! Couple of issues to be addressed: (1) there is a significant gap between the door and the wall in the living room through which water streamed in during a rainstorm; (2) internet & tv went out on Tuesday morning and weren't restored until Friday evening; and (3) beds and furniture were pretty worn out (as they are in many beach houses). We all agreed we'd stay here again with or without the fixes/upgrades.

Some cons, overall pros

There were a few things neglected about the property- there were a couple roaches, tons of spiders, a broken shower, poor temperature control on all showers and some mold in several places. Overall, we had a lovely time, just a few smaller issues.

Great week

Overall the house was great and in good condition. Great location. Walk to Corolla town or ocean beach in less than 5 min. You can see the ocean from too balcony! Perfect size for 2 families of 4.

Great rental!

Perfectly located - close to the beach, close to the shopping center, and close to Timbuk II! Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy all the amenities the house has to offer. Pool, hot tub, and deck area are fantastic for enjoying the afternoon sun. We've stayed here 4 times in the past 6 years and will continue to rent if we come back to OBX!

Our Second Impulse 2021 Vacation

We have been staying at Second Impulse now for 16 years, and have always enjoyed our vacation there. This year, while there have been some positive changes ( new flooring on the third floor, and replacement of some Queen-size beds with Kings) the place is now showing some serious wear and tare, The sofa in the main living area is long overdue for replacement, and the shag carpet on the stairs and second floor common areas badly needs replacing. In order to accommodate the king-size beds, some bedside tables had to be turned so that drawers are no longer accessible. A leak under the kitchen sink has caused the bottom of the cabinet to collapse, and this has not been replaced. The windows in the dining area are showing signs of water damage, and the complete lack of window blinds in this area ( something we have mentioned many times) makes it difficult to see when the sun is shining. One major factor, however, are indications of a significant price increase for renting this home in 2022 is pricing the house out of reach compared to other similar homes in the area (yes, we have checked).

Perfect location!

Excellent stay at this property! Perfect location for beach, super short walk. Also short walk to grocery store and shops. House has extras such as horse shoes, corn hole, bikes, badminton, basketball hoop, volleyball area. Lots of outside seating on decks. We were too early in the season for the pool but enjoyed the hot tub. Fully equipped kitchen was great. Only downside was that wifi was not secure. Highly recommend this property.

Disappointed

Booked Thursday April 29, 2021 through Sunday May 2, 2021. Pros: Bed was pretty comfortable, Close proximity to the beach. Spacious. Close to restaurants and grocery store. Cons: Arrived later in the evening Thursday, (1) air conditioning was not working. Outside unit was covered in ice. Since it was around 9 pm, I was instructed to turn the thermostat off except for the fan so it could thaw out over night, and it’d probably work once thawed. It was stifling overnight, and didn’t work once thawed. (2) The entryway was swarming with bugs. Exterminator came out, it was termites. Sprayed to kill them, but said it was only a bandaid. (3) TV screen in one of the bedrooms on 2nd floor was shattered. Not a big deal as we weren’t there to watch tv, but it looked like the previous guest tried to hide it, and we didn’t want to be blamed for it. Was hoping for a relaxing few days at the beach with parents that we had not seen in 3 years, but it was hot in the house & repair people were in and out for 2 days. Asked for a later checkout, was told the house was rented back to back dates and we couldn’t have one. Was told a manager from Vacasa would call Monday or Tuesday regarding the issues with the house, but have not heard from anyone. Will probably be leery to rent from this company in the future.

Perfect Location

We really enjoyed our stay at Second Impulse. The location is ideal - easy stroll to the beach and shopping is equally convenient. The home is central to everything Corolla and it was easy to get to the water sports and restaurants. The size and layout were great for our family. It was nice to fit everyone around the dining table and to have the big open common area with the kitchen, which also has a nice glimpse of the ocean. The pool water was the perfect temperature and it was a great treat after a bike ride or being at the beach, especially since we were there during a heat wave. We will absolutely stay at Second Impulse again!
