Sunset Island is a private Bay Front community, conveniently located on 67th street in Ocean City, MD. This luxurious resort features anything you need for a safe and sound family vacation. Just two blocks from the Atlantic Ocean, Sunset Island offers Indoor Pool, Outdoor Pool, Kiddie Pool, Three Private Beaches, Fitness Center, Boat Slips, Crabbing Pier, Island Cafe/Restaurant, General Store, 24 Hour Security With Gated Access, and Interactive Fountain and great community activities. Short drive to popular bars and restaurants such as Seacrets, Fager's Island, Mackey's, Dead Freddy's, and a lot more!
Amenity Fees: $220.00 covers 6 facility & 3 parking passes. Please note, additional facility passes are $70 per pass, per person per week.
This property does not allow group rentals. Online bookings for group rentals will not be honored.

Flexibility

We got bumped to another property due to organizations double booking. We were taken care of thankfully and our stay at another Sunset Property worked out.

Nice layout needs some updating

This is a nice SI property. We’ve stayed at this specific house 2x and would stay again but are hoping to see some updating. It has a good set up for our family. The rugs should be replaced as well as the bath fixtures and the lower floor toilet. The mosquitoes were really bad. Not sure if proximity to the canal makes this worse. We couldn’t utilize the decks very much because the bugs were so bad. We will bring a thermosil next time. Hope the owners make some updates and will book again next year.

Overall this was a great property for our family vacation. Sunset Island is impeccably clean and very well maintained. The townhouse itself was awesome. Lots of room to spread out, tons of videos, games, and books. The kitchen as fully stocked- one of the best stocked kitchens I have seen. However there are hidden cost that I did not know about. For example we had 10 people staying in our townhouse that fits 12. We were only issued 6 pool passes. Anyone going into the pool MUST have a pool pass. Therefore we needed to purchase 4 more pool passes at $70 EACH. Also each townhouse gets has enough room for 3 cars. This is true, but the space is extremely tight and very hard to park in. We did have 4 cars and knew we would need to purchase another spot for $70. Overall we loved it here and would recommend it. I just wish we knew about the additional costs.

Disappointed on amenities

When we were able to check in at 4:00pm we were told parking passes and amenity passes would be lying on the kitchen table. By the time we had a chance to look for them after unloading the cars and getting our stuff situated, it was 5:01pm and they were not on the table. We called the property manager and got the voicemail, we left a voicemail and the manager returned the call in about 10 minutes and told us to go to the club house to pick them up. We went to the club house to only find out it closed at 5:00pm so we had to go back the next morning to pick up our passes. Also I have to say we were disappointed that Sunset Island completely closes the pool for the rest of the day when even one episode of thunder is heard. We rarely got a chance to use the pool after beach time because they were calling for storms some evenings so the pool was closed most of the time.

Beautiful property, fully stocked

Great property, great location, superb stay. Ever We needed was provided sans consumables (paper products, soap, etc.) and pool/beach towels. The owners has a charcoal grill, for which we left the rest of our charcoal, 4-5 beach chairs, a beach cart (so needed!) and a ping-pong table and corn hole in the garage. Kitchen was fully stocked as advertised. The only thing we didn’t find were the grilling utensils but we got through. We loved the wrap-around deck and the kitchen porch. Used them every morning/afternoon and evening. Even the patio furniture was super comfortable. The owners did not go cheap on furniture because it’s a rental. Rooms and home were beautifully decorated and well cared for. Really felt like home away from home. Contacting the property manager was hard. The VRBO messaging only works if you download the app - not a browser. They do return phone calls. Would have been helpful if garage code was included with check-in instructions so we didn’t have to walk around the house to the front door. Amenities were fine. I hit the gym everyday and it was often crowded. I heard the pool was also, but I preferred the ocean-side beach. The Bay Beach was nice but like bath water. There’s a Tiki bar and many shops. Trail around the island perimeter is about 1 mile on crushed shells. We loved being on the canal at this house and the breeze on the deck was amazing. Overall, I highly recommend the property and we’ll be coming again. Thanks so much!

Family Vacation 2024

Very nice spacious home with plenty of space to get together or if need for some privacy. Felt very safe and a lovely area to walk around, get in touch with nature. Just a bit uneasy about leaving on check out day ; as we were packing up I was in the garage anda man with a cleaning truck asked if I was Catherine Taylor I Said no he left and then went to the front opened the door with a passcode and stated he had to have the carpets cleaned by 2:00. He was very cordial; and I told him it wasn’t his fault; but I was not happy to leave without knowing this would occur at approximately 9:30 this morning.

Perfect Property for our Group

Property was laid out great and perfect for our family get together. Loved the pool and porches on the property. Easy to walk to everything we needed. Thanks for a great stay!

Property manager miscommunication

Eliana (property manage) was very helpful with the first few calls. I spoke to her once about the wifi password and pool passes. I also emailed via VRBO the owner to inquire why the house “comfortably” sleeps 12, but only 6 pool passes were included. The price for additional passes was unreasonably high. We gather with family one time a year and want to be together, so this was upsetting. On day 2 the upstairs AC quit working. Eliana was helpful in getting someone there to fix it the next day. On our last night there the AC stopped again. We were gone all day and came back to a hot house. I waited an hour to see if would cool down (it did not) and called her at 8:15. She did not return the call until 9:19 and felt it was unreasonable to expect anything to be done because it was so late. I asked for compensation and she became confrontational. She “offered” to have the technician come out but said they very likely couldn’t get the part to fix it until the next day. We were leaving the next day so that was of no help so I asked to be compensated for the 1-2 nights we slept in the heat. She became more confrontational so I ended the call. She sent the repairman out at 12:30 am & told him it was at my insistence. That was completely untrue. If it couldn’t be fixed immediately, there was no need to send anyone out. She wanted to say she tried to accommodate me and therefore I didn’t deserve any compensation. We enjoyed Sunset Island but will not book another stay with this company.

Family Vacation

We had a great time staying at this property! Everything was clean when we arrived and passes were on the table and ready for us when we got to the house! Would definitely rent again!
