Perfect Alexandria getaway apartment

This carriage house apartment was exactly as described. It was really clean and furnished beautifully. It was much better than staying in a hotel due to the family room area and kitchenette. It has street parking, but it was never a problem to find a spot. It was close to downtown DC and Mount Vernon. Patrick was very responsive and the check-in and check-out process was really easy. Would be happy to stay here again!

We were very blessed staying here. Excellent host and beautiful neighborhood to go with the beautiful cottage we stayed at. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay here again.

Quaint and safe

The Alexandria area feels warm and safe. Very family friendly and lots of great food on Mount Vernon Avenue. We used Uber to travel to and from the DC area.

Carriage house close to son

We stayed in the carriage house several days while visiting our son who lives within an easy walk. The carriage house was bright and cozy. It met all our needs.

Washington/Annapolis vacation!

Loved the area. Went every evening downtown Old Alexandra entertainment district to eat dinner. So fun! Patrick responded quickly if I had any questions.

Wonderful property and location.

This was exactly as advertised! Fantastic location, very clean, wonderful linens and towels, plenty of coffee, tea, soap, shampoo, etc. We will go back again!

Fabulous Stay

The Carriage House was fantastic! It was even better than the pictures portrayed! Super clean and in a neat neighborhood, .4 mile walk to metro station. Then a quick 10 minute ride to National Mall on yellow line. Returned on the blue line that took us to Arlington Cemetery and the Pentagon. Just five minute drive from airport! We will stay here again if traveling to DC!! Easy access to everything!

Comfortable and clean

The stylish carriage house was fantastic. Very clean, comfortable and great accommodations. Quiet and great neighborhood for walking and enjoying. Bathroom nicer than hotels and the heated floor was perfect and a nice unexpected finish. Would highly recommend.

Excellent!

Perfect for two, spacious, kitchen with everything you need, comfortable bed and nicely decorated throughout. Patrick has done a great job setting this place up for a very comfortable stay. Really impressed with his great communication. The neighborhood very quiet, plenty of parking, well kept and safe, walking distance to the little downtown area. The apartment has many windows, which is wonderful for light, but also the window treatments provided a nice sleeping environment, which is huge for us! Can't say enough about this place!

Way better than a hotel

I talked my husband into trying this VRBO after i read all the reviews and we were not disappointed. We loved our stay here, it was like home away from home. Booking was easy and Patrick was always there when i had any questions. Check in and check out was trouble-free. The place was very clean, which we much appreciated. Very comfortable, with all the amenities mention on their page. I was even able to use the washer/dryer as we had been traveling a few days before and was down on clean clothes, so that came in very handy. Parking which I was worried at first, turned out to be not an issue, always found a spot out front. We really enjoyed this cottage, we were able to make our oatmeal in the mornings and drink our coffee in comfort. Thanks to Patrick for offering this alternative to a hotel, it made our trip so much nicer.

Great place to stay!

The carriage house was everything we hoped it would be- sunny, spotless and super comfortable! It is located in a great little neighborhood within walking distance to shops and restaurants. On street parking was easy to find and convenient. I definitely recommend it and we will be staying there again on our next visit to the city.

Perfect for a single or a couple who don’t plan to cook

The apartment is even prettier than it appears in the photos, and it affords privacy in an attractive, quiet and very safe neighborhood populated by friendly families and dog walkers. There are windows on three walls which flood the rooms with natural light and provide plenty of fresh air. I found the bed and sofa to be very comfortable. The location is perfect, with Mt. Vernon Ave a short walk away, where you can enjoy great local shopping, restaurants, coffee and ice cream shops. And, the National Mall and downtown DC are a mere 20 minute drive. One word of caution: the kitchenette is not for cooks-! There is no stove or oven but two hot plates are provided in addition to the microwave. You’ll find basics such as plates, glassware, mugs, flatware, utensils and pots and pans, but no large serving bowls, casserole dishes, mixing bowls, etc. While some rentals have a stock of commonly used spices and other basics, this one provides salt and pepper and a couple bottles of leftover olive oil. Last, there is no dishwasher. So…if you don’t care to do much cooking and don’t mind hand washing your dishes, this is a very cute, clean and comfortable apartment that I recommend very highly!

Perfect location! Quiet, peaceful, walkable neighborhood! Just lovely! Shopping and restaurants three short blocks away in lovely Del Ray. VRBO was immaculate, bright, private, and peaceful. We slept with the windows open most nights, and it was so quiet. We were pleased to have the a/c one particularly warm night! So lovely to spend time in the Del Ray neighborhood and greater Alexandria......so much to do in the immediate area. Wonderful to return to the tranquility of the VRBO and neighborhood after the hustle and bustle of a day in DC. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area!

Perfect place to stay near Old Town

I needed a place to stay while visiting friends in the DC area and this guest house was perfect. It's small but is super cute and has everything you need. And it was very clean!! I would definitely stay here again
