Historic Bucher House with central location to Gettysburg and Lancaster Amish

Bucher House is located in downtown Hanover within easy walking distance of numerous restaurants, pubs, and boutique shops. Also, 30 minutes to Gettysburg, and an hour from Baltimore's inner harbor, Lancaster County Amish community, or Hershey PA. Bucher House was built in 1828 and contains many period antiques with modern amenities. Please note: This property is located in downtown Hanover and like many row houses, built very close to the main street through town. While this presents many advantages of being close to downtown activities and attractions, it also has some degree of regular street noise. If you are a rather light sleeper, this property may not be suitable. However, 93% of customer reviews do not find this an issue.

Nice place with lots of history. Excellent location close to the heart of Hanover with lots of shops, restaurants and breweries! The beds were comfortable and the space was just what my family needed.

Bucher House is a beautiful Historic home in the center of Hanover. We were there with family to attend a wedding.. The entrance from the back yard is awesome, very picturesque garden and patio. The home was clean, and it had everything needed to start our week. The kitchen was perfect for our family meals. It was well equipped, with a commercial size frig and stove. Lots of room for a large family. It was walking distance to town with quaint restaurants and shopping. Kiddos had lots of fun playing shuffleboard! There was plenty of off street parking. We were so happy that we could have our 10 year old dog with us. Our host was very nice, easy to reach, and accommodating. We traveled a long way, and he made access on the first and last day easy. Overall, a super experience. Jeanie

This house is prettier in person! Family, fur kids and I absolutely loved it. Highly recommend if you’re in the area to stay or have a party there. Thank you for the lovely accommodations!

Wonderful stay for our large family. Charming home with a great layout. Child-friendly. Very cozy. Comfortable mattresses. Beautiful spacious garden with shuffleboard game. Feels private even though it's in the middle of town. Only issue was noise from traffic and people walking by; we used a sound machine app with Bluetooth and slept great. Rob was an excellent and responsive host. Will stay again.

The house is very nice. Fun walking around and exploring the history in the house. I now want to install a shuffleboard court at my own home!

Remembrance Day in Gettysburg

The house, grounds and parking lot were amazing! Beautifully furnished with period items and comfortable essentials. Within walking distance to the square in Old town Hanover. Will definitely stay again!

Historic Gem

Beautiful historic home and outdoor space. We were back in the Hanover area to visit family and friends; Rob and Penny were excellent hosts and made the stay easy and enjoyable.

Beautiful place

We had a beautiful stay. The property is in a very convenient location. Walking distance of a few breweries, dinner locations and a nice little breakfast restaurant. We would definitely stay again. The state park right down the road has a big lake with plenty of fishing. Rob the owner was very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful Historic Home

Clean, well appointed rental. We loved browsing through the old books in the library and learning about the history of the area. The hosts were prompt to respond to questions and made us feel very welcomed.

Family Stay In Hanover

My family and I had a great time at the Bucher house in Hanover. The house has a lot of room and a great yard which was wonderful for our grandson. The kitchen is amazing so if you are there for an event it is perfect. The owner was extremely helpful and very responsive. I would definitely stay there again.

Relaxing Family Weekend

We enjoyed our 2 night stay during a cousins reunion in Gettysburg. Hanover is a quick drive and having a big home and a nice yard was a nice change from staying at a hotel. We invited our cousins to come visit in the afternoon following a guided tour of the battlefields. Our family enjoyed being in a historic home from the same era.

162 Gettysburg anniversary first trip

fantastic !! Rob was always available and we had an amazing time visiting historic Hanover and our trip to Gettysburg was well spent during this 162nd anniversary. It was our first trip to the area and battlefield sites and we cant wait to visit again. We will definitely reach out to Rob and the Bucher house for our stay(s) in the future !!
