Compass Rose is a 100-Year-Old Quintessential Maine 3 Bedroom cottage with thoughtful modern updates, spectacular ocean front views, a private deep-water dock and float. Wake up to the most incredible sunrises over Linekin Bay. Enjoy the large open and partially covered deck with expansive views to Linekin Bay, Cabbage Island, the open ocean and beyond! Kids can enjoy the small, shared beach area next to the house to swim between mid and high tide and collect shells and sea glass at low tide. Activities and amenities to enjoy from your own private deep-water dock include the following for the whole family:

* 3 Ocean Kayaks
* 1 Tandem Kayak (Hobie Sit on Top Kayak)
* 2 Paddle Boards
* Fishing Gear for All
* Lilly Pad for the kid's enjoyment
* All paddles and safety equipment
* Swim Ladder on Dock

Compass Rose is just 1.2 miles away from Boothbay Harbor Center where there is an abundance of shops, restaurants, fishing charters, harbor cruises, sailing charters, whale watches, day trips to Monhegan Island and more! Enjoy hiking trails and two beautiful parks all within walking distance from the Cottage. Boothbay Botanical Gardens is a must visit for the whole family when taking in all of what the Boothbay Region has to offer. Linekin Bay Resort is just a stone's throw from the Cottage which offers an amazing restaurant, outdoor bar and grill that with excellent food and live music.

This comfortable, cozy cottage boasts a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to make a great meal when the view is just too good to leave! Dine indoors or out and enjoy the comfortable living room with tastefully updated coastal furniture. The Cottage has fast Wi-Fi and a Smart TV to enjoy all of the comforts of home, but don't forget about the classic board games for the whole family to enjoy. Light a fire to stay warm on those cool nights and cottage has AC units for those hot summer days. The Compass Rose Cottage has everything you need to experience and enjoy all that the Boothbay Harbor region has to offer!

Please note that as of 2024, Linekin Bay Resort no longer permits outside memberships. As a result, we have enhanced the cottage experience with our own waterfront amenities, including multiple kayaks (including a tandem kayak great for the adults with a kiddo), stand up paddle boards, a floating lilly pad, and fishing gear for guests to enjoy right from our private-deep water dock.

For those interested in resort-style amenities, Spruce Point Inn located less than 10 minutes away, offers day passes that includes access to its heated salt water pool and other amenities. We believe you'll find that the privacy , waterfront setting, and on-site amenities at Compass Rose Cottage provide everything needed for a memorable Boothbay Harbor area vacation!

This place was wonderful. I was looking to get away and that's exactly what I got. Small town area with a working harbor. I loved every minute of it. I will be planning on coming back again in the future.

This property is very quaint and lovely. Beautiful views of the water and my kids enjoyed kayaking several times a day. Quiet area, which was nice. The kitchen is very nicely stocked, which I really appreciated. Beds were comfy. The house could have used some more AC window units in the bedrooms as it was a very hot week when we were there, but realize that may not be usually needed. Overall, a nice stay and guests should be happy staying here. We enjoyed it!

The Compass Rose was amazing. We really enjoyed our morning coffee on the back porch with the view of the water. The cottage makes you feel at home from the moment you walk in the door. The kitchen is well stocked with everything that you need. We loved the hand written note with a gift bag from the owners daughter when we arrived. Matt and Jen are fantastic owners. Will definitely be staying here again when we go back.

Beautiful Location

We loved staying at this beautifully decorated cottage. The view was beautiful, and we loved watching the tide come in and out. We had everything we needed and would love to stay again!

Fantastic water views in a quaint cozy cottage

The cottage is cozy but very well equipped and the access to nearby Linekin Bay resort make this a wonderful destination.

We had a great week at compass rose. The cottage is beautiful and well appointed. I personally loved all the nooks and crannies, plus all of the nautical decor - couldn’t ask for a more charming place. Our only issue was bringing our 20 foot sailboat. In retro spect, I should have double checked on a few things prior to our stay, but the owner Matt is very kind and was always available to communicate. I would love to come back one day and use the mooring for the sailboat. Now we also know where we can store the trailer. Compass Rose is a gem and I highly recommend it for a memorable week.

Lovely family time stay!

Loved the quaint cottage feel! Fishing off the dock was a huge hit, especially in rainy and cloudy weather. Beautiful spot. Would highly recommend this place!

We loved our visit to Matt's cottage on Linekin Bay! The ocean views were fabulous, the cottage was lovely, and the location was ideal. We enjoyed walking to Boothbay Harbor and Linekin Bay Resort and loved spending time on the beautiful cottage porch. It was a wonderful experience.

Location was great with beautiful view . Was a classic Maine cottage with all the amenities you need including beautiful enclosed porch and wonderful deck and float dock. We made fire several nights. Highly recommend.

Quintessential New England Getaway

The Compass Rose cottage provided a quaint family seaside getaway with beautiful coastal views. The dock was perfect for swimming & fishing. Owners Matt & Jen were very responsive to any issues and made great recommendations for things to do in the area. The neighborhood was great for taking strolls & central to fun areas to explore all around Boothbay Harbor. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Perfect porch!

We had the most relaxing and peaceful time at the cottage, just sitting in the porch watching the lobster boats right in front of you was wonderful! What spectacular views. The resort next door was fabulous to have access to.

Another great visit to Boothbay

We just wrapped another great stay at this cozy, charming summer cottage on Linekin Bay. The view from the deck is fantastic and Jen And Matt have arranged for everything a small group or family needs to enjoy a coastal Maine vacation. Access to the Linekin Bay Resort, just a few steps down the road, is a huge plus and provides the best of both worlds — all the amenities of the resort, including the restaurant and bar, and your own private space and deck and dock.
