We enjoyed our relaxing stay in this lovely home. It is beautifully furnished, with a wrap-around porch surrounded by a lush, tropical garden. The frogs and roosters can be loud, so bring earplugs for sleeping! We walked across the street one evening to watch the sun set into the ocean. Stunning! I would love to come back!

A beautiful, soothing, healing place for maladies didn't know we had. From the sweet dog who watches out and befriends those in the cottage to the beauty of the garden-like landscape to the ease and comfort and simple order of the house itself, everything conspired to keep us there looking feeling the upcountry breezes and watching the ocean below. Magical.

You will not be disappointed here. It is very roomy. The place is very well kept and the kitchen is well stocked with gadgets and dishes. The grounds are gorgeous with many different fruit trees, macadamia nuts, chickens and the friendliest dog.It is so close to so many sights, especially two step which is only 10 minutes away.I wasn't so sure about staying at a place without AC, but it really was just fine, and I'm one who does not like to sleep in a hot room. With the windows open and the ceiling fan on, it was just fine and I had no problem sleeping.The only issue we had was finding where to enter the code to get in the house. Our host answered immediately and resolved the issue while on the phone. It didn't slow down our getting into the house at all.

This is a classy and quiet rural cottage within short driving distance of multiple great snorkel spots. The private wraparound lanai surrounded by luscious greenery and a distant ocean view really makes it special. We appreciated the cleanliness, the decor and appliances, the very effective ceiling fans, the beach towels and chairs for guest use, and, not least, the most excellent local Nahenahe Estate coffee beans left as a welcome gift. We'll definitely be back.

Great location near several snorkeling spots, private and quiet (except for the geckos and frogs!). Bed was super comfortable! We really enjoyed the fresh fruit growing in the yard; grapefruit, lemons, starfruit... delicious!

December stay

My wife and I spent 7 days on the big island. The cottage was just the right size for comfort. The kitchen is well equipped and plenty of options for coffee brewing as well.

Incredible and romantic home base to explore the Kona coast

Well maintained, clean, and high end for the price. We would stay here again and again. 5/5 no notes. Give Kiko some love when you see him.

We loved Ohia Cottage! The area was quiet and private, but it was an easy drive to great food, coffee, smoothies and the beach. The view of the ocean from the deck was even better than we expected. We will definitely stay again! Thank you!

The house is really nice, and private. It's very clean and comfortable. The sounds of the frogs and others is very loud at night so bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to noises at night.

The cottage was super cute! The owner communicated quickly and was so sweet! It was my first time to the Big Island and the location was a perfect location from the farm that my family live at. Check in process and check out process was super easy!

Amazing property. Beautiful, quiet, private space. Very nice two bedroom unit with everything you need. We really enjoyed Koki, a sweet dog that would visit from time to time. We enjoyed hanging out on the deck and listening to the birds and frogs. We’d love to stay again.

Surprisingly wonderful place

Wonderful place. Fully equiped and elegantly furnished. The house is private, surrounded by lush gardens. We spent a quite a while on the wonderful lounges on the lanai. Would definitely stay here again.

A beautiful kitchen. There were no sharp knives, so we told the property manager. She had them sharpened for us, so be careful. They were sharp and lovely. We would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing, cozy getaway spot

We love staying in the Captain Cook area, and this property was perfect! Well appointed, comfortable home with a great lanai. The coqui frogs will serenade you in the evening, chickens will do the same in the morning, and Kiko (a very friendly dog) will stop by to say hello once or twice a day. We will definitely hope to stay here again on future trips to the Big Island.

Perfect spot for a getaway on the Big Island

This was an amazing place to stay. Spacious, clean, well ventilated. The apartment is superbly equipped - kitchen utensils, beach items, laundry pods you name it! It is located on a scenic farm and we really enjoyed the sounds of surrounding nature. Can’t wait to stay again!

Wonderful Cottage in Great Location

Very well appointed, a lot of thought has gone into the complete renovation of this cottage. Clean and comfortable with a great vibe. Yes, there are more than a few chickens, but you are in the country in a lovely location. Would stay again without hesitation.
