The problems that created our overall impression of this VRBO property began at the front door. The front door hardware is so badly worn that one of us often felt locked out because we could not open the unlocked door, having to roust our spouse by ringing the doorbell throughout our stay.
The property while nicely renovated in many ways was showing areas needing attention, with well worn furniture, stained carpets, and a broken dining room chandelier that can only be described as an unfunny joke.
On the plus side, the location was great with nearby access to restaurants, stores and the beach. The kitchen was spacious and there were plenty of dishes, glasses, flatware and cookware. We mostly ate out though, so did not test much beyond the free-standing Walmart type microwave oven that seemed superfluous considering the built-in microwave above the wall oven.
None of this would have been a deal breaker had we not signed up for a week at a "luxury" property in Palmetto Dunes, a beautiful and conveniently located, gated community.
