Immaculate and Impeccably designed to the highest standards, private driveway, fully equipped kitchen, rain shower marble tiled bathroom, it will feel like your own home sweet home! Private yard, large deck, fire-pit with exquisite garden & coy pond allow for peace and relaxation. Sit by the water and enjoy peace & serenity. Great location! Equipped with a pull out couch this cottage can accommodate 4 guests.

Long gravel private driveway enter via Route 39, for multiple vehicle's. Plenty of room if you are towing a boat, Jet-skis, quads, RV's or anything at all. Enjoy two on site kayaks on site included and views of Squantz Pond or take them 1 mile down the road to Candlewood Lake. Cozy up to the outdoor fire-pit with 4 Adirondack chairs. Outdoor dine on the deck with table and seating for 4. When pulling in & out of the driveway just be-careful people are known to speed on Route 39 so just be extra cautious.

Quiet and Calm

Perfectly adorable house that was ideal for our brief getaway. I wish we had been able to use the kayak/canoe but time was tight. The only issue was the driveway which had me holding my breath a bit but luckily we were careful and managed without incident.

Cozy lakeside cabin

Well appointed cabin was perfect for a quick weekend up to visit friends. Would love to come back in warm weather to take advantage of the proximity to the beautiful lake. Thanks!

Excellent Property

The view was beautiful! Its close enough to water access but not right on the water. The bed was comfy, the place was clean, and firepit was a nice perk on a cooler night! If I'm ever traveling out that way again, I'd definitely stay again!

This little cottage was perfect for our stay. Very comfortable, everything you could need, cute outdoor area, quiet, comfy bed and sofa. We'll definitely stay again.

Good for weekend trip

Overall, nice for a weekend get away to do some kayaking on a lake. Owner communication was great, cottage was accurately described. Best for 1-2 people due to space (rather than a family). Cottage was clean (cleaning service was leaving as we arrived). As noted in other reviews, driveway is challenging when backing out, and could use a guard rail/stones, etc. to help. Steep hill to walk up/down from house, but access to lake is right across the street. Nice and quiet in the mornings.

Lovely pre-fall getaway

Perfect place for a last-minute getaway for two. While more can stay, it would definitely be a tight squeeze. It was great for two professors who needed a last break to get some work done and quiet before the fall semester starts. Thank you!

Nice place lots of character

We totally enjoyed the cabin and all it offered to us. We were a little disappointed in the beaches that you could walk too. They are close but not well maintained. Some of the photos make it seem like a nice beach is local. There is a nice beach but it’s a drive to the state park. Not so much a negative as setting expectations. The water view is wonderful. Amenities and location were great. Bed was super comfortable and multiple outdoor spaces to enjoy.

Long Weekend

Perfect weather for a getaway! Great location to get to get around. Cottage was perfect for us. Fire pit was great to hang out at. Went kayaking across the street. Beautiful lake. However, the access to the lake was a wee bit steep but we are in shape to handle it. All in all it was a great time!

Squantz Cottage Getaway

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Squantz Cottage. Property was well maintained, clean, and convenient. Parking at the cottage can be a little tricky backing out and getting on to the road. An option to park at the main house could be helpful. I would definitely rent again!

Clean & efficient

This sweet and clean cottage is depicted well in the pix.... we enjoyed our 2 night stay. I would urge a prospective renter to read the reviews. Accessibility with the drive can be a bit overwhelming-backing in off of busy route 39 and with an unprotected drop off into the yard. The steps are steep with some unevenness but once you get into the cottage it's charming.

Beautify cozy cottage

2 night stay

The cottage was everything we needed. The bed and sofa were comfy and the rainfall shower was wonderful. The area was very quiet and relaxing. I would say that the driveway is a little harrowing because it’s on a ledge and the road in front is 45 mph, but we were able to back in most times that we parked the car. Overall we had a great experience.

Nice place to stay

Very nice place, very clean and has all the amenities. Not a place for someone with disabilities. As stated in the description, be very careful of going in and out of the driveway. It may be long, however it is not very trailer friendly, it is narrow and even the most expert of drivers need to pay close attention. It would beneficial to remove the stones on the street side and leave it grass. Also to add some solar lights as a guide. We brought our own because we knew we would be backing up during the dark hours.

Review

Overall the interior of the property was great. Very clean and everything you need for your visit. The shower is awesome and everything is very comfortable. The property manager was very sweet and there was a balloon and chocolates for my wife and my anniversary with a very nice card. Location and photo wise there were some disappointments. You are in another houses back yard. The lake is across the street and down a hill. The beach area is down the end of the cul du sac a small walk from the property. There is not much privacy outside. The driveway is small, has a precipitous drop off and is on a very busy street so getting in and out is a little nerve-wracking. Overall we had a very nice stay but pay attention to every picture and know you are not on the water.

Cozy cottage

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay, the cottage was adorable and very comfortable. We wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the beautiful lake. We definitely will rent again but for a longer stay next time.
