Perfect for two. Excellent location for first OBX and off road beach trip. House had everything needed cooking wise except for cutting board. Clean place. Host very helpful, responsive, and respectful. Was surprised at the storage space in garage- perfect for beach chairs/jeep doors etc. stove worked great, just confusing on how to start bake vs boil mode. Highly recommend for 2 and we will certainly be back. - Tyler and Courtney Aug 2026

I would book this delightful spot again. Very comfortable and had all that we needed. I’m usually not too fussy about drinking water, but I would take my own next time….probably due to water treatment, not because it wasn’t safe. The beach is within walking distance, but driving, or a wagon with fat tires are recommended if you’re taking more than a towel and chair. The location is a little bit of a trek - as described. We enjoyed the quietness. Currently (summer ‘26) only two close houses. Great spot for a couple. Enjoy!

A beautiful house for a couple! The only issue we had was no washcloths for showering and the washing machine stained a few of our items. Other than that, a very clean property! The kitchen had plenty of utensils to use. AC was good and cold.

We had a great visit. My only mild complaint is that we like a firm mattress, otherwise we would definitely recommend this house.

Amazing location. A few bumps with getting in touch with the host/check in instructions, and the AC went out in the middle of the night, but luckily it was cool enough that we stayed comfortable. Very minimal kitchen supplies, and the closest store is a long way back, so be sure to bring your own coffee, ice, etc. Great porch, hot tub was great, and the beach is gorgeous.

We had a wonderful stay , the house was beautiful we enjoyed the hot tub. The beach was beautiful and we got to see the horses while we spent time on the beach and a visit from a deer one morning at the house. There is one thing that would have been helpful is that it is 10 miles off the pavement across the beach , definitely recommend getting groceries before heading to the beach house. Other than that our stay was perfect!!!

We had an excellent time in this cottage. It was nice and removed, and the beach was not crowded at all. We enjoyed our mornings and afternoons lounging around and would recommend staying here.

The ride to the house is about 12 miles from air down which is on your left a couple miles before the beach. Don’t follow your GPS just ride the beach along the dunes after Memorial Day except between the beach ramps 14 and 17 which they want you to keep more toward the water - 15mph is the max speed on the way in and near any people or wild horses of which you will see plenty of both. We didn’t learn this until we got to the house. The house is a beach stay perfect for two. We didn’t use the outside shower or hot tub but they both looked amazing. We had a great time relaxing on the porch which has comfy swivel rockers. We saw horses, deer, bunnies and heard so many beautiful bird songs. We had a great vacation.

Very cute cottage perfect for my boyfriend and I to stay for the weekend. They have most everything we needed for cooking in the kitchen. The ice machine in the garage was amazing since there was nowhere else to get ice. Overall it was a great place to stay!

Outer Banks Carolla Beach Cottage

Awesome! Small and charming with great Beach Acces. Wild horses and awesome Jeep 4x4 driving. Perfect stay for a couple. Great vacation spot. Quiet and very nice property location. Owner/Property Managent was great also. Highly recommend!
