Must have true 4x4 vehicle to access the property via beach road. (6.75 miles from the paved road) sugary sand, ground clearance could be an issue. 7.5”+ of ground clearance is recommended.

Only a short walk (1500ft) to the beach from this 4th row beach cottage. Enjoy the 4x4 family friendly beach. Located near the Corolla wild horses, great surf fishing, with magnificent sun rises and sun sets. A short drive to shopping, dinning, the Corolla historic village and light house. Public boat launch located at Carova park.

Enjoy the ocean breeze on the large covered deck of this cottage with a screened in room for a private setting. Two king master suites. Full size bunk beds in hall loft. 2.5 bath with an outdoor shower to rinse sand and salt from the ocean. Spacious kitchen with dining room table.

Bath towels, sheet and bed spreads. cleaned between guests.
Disinfected between renters.
Includes washer and dryer usage.
Charcoal grill provided. Please bring your own charcoal.
Dogs are the only pets permitted, pet fee applies.
NO FIRES in fireplace.
NO FIRES in yard.
In season rents Saturday to Saturday.
Minimum age of 25 for primary renter.
Recycle in blue trash cans, bottles and cans only.
All trash must be bagged. Trash bags are provided.

Going to Carova/Corolla was a bucket list trip for me. It didn’t disappoint. I saw lots of horses, lazy days on the beach and relaxing afternoons and evenings. I highly recommend this property.

Refreshing

This lovely home is a peaceful haven from the typical busyness of a summer beach vacation. Everything was just as pictured. Driving on the beach was such a fun adventure and having wild horses visit the yard made for treasured memories. Although the upstairs air conditioning had just broken the day we arrived, the owners were quick to have the unit replaced. In the meantime, they had window units brought in to keep things cool, so we never experienced any discomfort. The ac repairman was very considerate as well. Response times were quick and all questions immediately answered by the owners. The home is picturesque, cozy, exceptionally clean, and beautifully decorated. The beds are soft, the living room is wonderfully comfortable, and the two screened-in porches are especially pleasant places to eat or relax. There's actually not a bad seat inside or outside the house! The owners have thought of everything imaginable: well-stocked pantry and supplies for every conceivable need. We highly recommend this house and would absolutely visit again!

Wonderful house, equipped with everything you need for a beach vacation! owners were very helpful with a Wi-Fi issue. Definitely need a 4wd vehicle. Horses came up right behind the house!!

Secluded Retreat

First off, I want to give a huge Thank You to the host's of Shore Relaxing!! The name of this property should set the tone for what is to come, on a vacation. The drive out on the 4 × 4 beach is beautiful, especially when we were greeted by the wild horses. The house is amazing & has this old, world charm about it but with the modern needs. )mThe feel of the home is open & airy when you walk in the door. It was stocked with everything we needed to cook & clean up afterwards, including a washer & dryer. The only thing we had to buy is our groceries. My family loved this place & all the memories that we made while there!!!

Wonderful House

My family loved this house! My husband, son, and I brought our Coonhound and another couple to the beach! Everything was provided for our week! The house is so well stocked for cooking and hanging out at the house! The beds were comfortable, the living room furniture was comfortable, the house was perfect for 2 couples and a child! We truly enjoyed our week at Shore Relaxing!!

Honestly if these owners could run all of the rentals, that would be great! This place was cleaner than clean, almost every single thing was thought of and the furnishings are lovely. The addition of the antique pieces with the beachy items, just stunning. Most everything is here if you forget it, you have a back up. There are chairs and umbrella… things you must pack sunscreen, and towels. For those with Littles, the gates are amazing. You can actually sit down because they latch and close on every place, a child or dog may stray. Really great space. Intentional and much appreciated.

Clean and well stocked

The house was very clean and in great shape. It also had just about everything that you need - spices, condiments, games, beach chairs and beach games, etc. The owners are very responsive and answered all of my questions about the property and the area.

Magical

Carova Beach is magical - as if time stood still. In my opinion, this is one of the loveliest houses out there. It is SPOTLESSLY clean, it has everything you need and the old world style of the home is the icing on the cake. Couldn’t be any more relaxing. The beach is BEAUTIFUL and a two minute walk from the house. Be prepared! There is NOTHING in Carova Beach. Bring water and food unless you plan on going back and forth to the pavement which isn’t exactly easy. MIND THE TIDES when getting on and off. Travel at low tide especially if you are inexperienced with 4 wheel driving. A beautiful place - we will be back. Tires down to 18!!!

Gem in Paradise

Shore Relaxing is an amazing place. The house is absolutely beautiful and in a great location. We spent time hiking False Cape State Park (VA)...we found a gate to enter from NC. We also explored the Currituck Beach Lighthouse Park/Maritime Museum and hiked Currituck Banks Preserve. The wild horses made daily visits which excited, cautiously, our dog Roscoe. We look forward to a return to Shore Relaxing and would recommend to family and friends.

Such a relaxing vacation

Can not say enough great things about this beach house! Hosts were great house was immaculate. They really thought of everything and even have your furry companions in mind which we really appreciated. Location was perfect for us. We saw horses everyday and even got to watch them graze in the backyard. This was everything we had hoped and more. We will definitely return ! 🐴☀️🌊

Serenity and Relaxation

From the start of our reservation through our stay the property owners were very responsive to any questions we had. The property was bright, spacious, very clean and perfect for our stay. We loved the ability to cook some meals and appreciated having some of the basic seasonings and condiments available. The location was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the 4 x 4 beach along with plenty of sightings of the wild horses. Perfect stay! We highly recommend this rental to anyone wanting to escape to a quiet remote area with all the amenities.

4WD and pups venture to OBX

Drove three days to come to OBX! Waited until Hurricane Lee had left the area and ventured out onto the beach. I drive a small 4WD SUV and yes folks, got stuck but my fault for driving up wrong "bridge" as they call them AND not engaging 4WD. Hints. Bring groceries! Instacart is almost non-existent. Air down! Met someone who helped me air down to 15 PSI, I was at 20-25, too high. The home is beautiful. The view from the master BR deck is astounding. The breeze is amazing AND seeing the Spanish mustangs running on the beach.....incomparable to anything I've experienced. Thanks again for allowing me and my two pups an excellent location to relax and drive on the beach!

Best house on 4x4!

This was my families 10th year in OBX staying on the 4x4 and this house was perfect in every way! The best layout, from the 1 set of stairs to get to the main living, the beautiful deck with sliding gate. We loved the screened porch. The convenience of the fabulous outside shower, first floor half bath and laundry room. The vintage sinks and many antiques throughout the house are awesome and we loved the open shelves in the kitchen. The bedrooms were the perfect size and love the added bonus full size bunk beds. This was the first house that was not covered in cobwebs outside it was clean clean clean, this home is so well cared for, better then ANY house we have stayed in previously. And to top it all off, there was a pantry area with many staple kitchen items as well! The owners are wonderful people and are close by if anything is needed. Can’t wait to go back next September!

Shore Relaxing

The name of this property says it all. The house was beautiful and clean. The wrap around deck was incredible. The proximity to the beach was fabulous. We saw horses a few days even got to see a baby sea turtle crossing. The owners were so responsive when we had questions and they had the house fully stocked with everything we needed.

Amazing Vacation

Perfect Week

Brought my son to Outer Banks for his last vacation pre-College. The house was perfect. Clean. Everything we needed. Owner was gracious and over accommodating. I can’t say enough great things. It’s a perfect place for a small family or even two couples. Being able to bring our two small dogs made it even better.

Amazing Beach House and Incredible Hosts

This was hands-down the cleanest and most well-stocked vacation home we have ever stayed in! The kitchen was stocked with a great selection of pans, cooking utensils, and appliances - everything we needed to cook during our stay. We used the outdoor grill, and we loved the little pantry and laundry area that were stocked with thoughtful items like spices, paper products, cleaning supplies, laundry soap, and even insect repellent. The beach house was just a short walk to the beach, and we saw wild horses almost every day. Our family really loved spending time out on the deck and on the screened-in porch. Beach chairs, an umbrella, and yard games were supplied, along with a huge dresser that was completely filled with board games, puzzles, and books. Beds were very comfortable. Jim and Sue were excellent hosts, and it is obvious that they care about their guests. We arrived at the beach house late on Saturday night, and it was a little nerve-wracking driving on the beach for the first time in the dark, but they were kind enough to check in on us and give us clear directions to their home. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to the OBX and would not hesitate to book here again. Highly recommended!

The Second Time Was Better Than The First

Our second year here was even more remarkable than the first! The owners keep one of the best properties we’ve ever stayed at! There were so many things we didn’t have to bring this year since they already had them, which made the entire experience less stressful on our whole family. We couldn’t wait to watch the sunrise from the top porch and play nightly games on the main porch! Corn hole and ladder toss below deck were awesome too. Comfortable beds and a cozy house make coming off the beach even sweeter. Thank you again for an incredible trip!
