Welcome to Iokua Hale a 2 bedroom plus loft cottage! You will enjoy cool and comfortable country cottage that is situated on over an acre of beautifully landscaped and very private yard. It sleeps up to 6 people. The main house has 1 bedroom and a large loft where the kitchen and living room area is. There is a large separate master bedroom with its own bathroom with an expansive deck connecting the two. Barbecue area. Beach chairs and cooler are also available for your use.

Nice place. The space outside is meant to be used the majority of the time. The living room is small. It was rainy and windy for most of our stay, so it was too cold and wet to be in the outside areas. Luckily we had places to go. The area that the house is in, there is a pocket of wet weather. The weather is different just a mile away. No a/c, but not needed in this cool environment. Very private. Enjoyed our stay! She allowed us to checkin early and checkout a little later. Waimea is beautiful!

We arrived the day of histoic Kona low & so happy to make it! We had mother with us so it was the perfect setup for her to have her own space in separate cottage. The covered balcony perfect for sitting outside watching the rain. Noelani, our host, came to check in that all was good & appreciated the tips for what to do in the area & great conversation. Listening to the frogs was an awesome! Explored in every direction & suggest going to the farmers market.& botanical gardens.

This is the most beautiful house we could ever imagine staying in.

The house and location was perfect, house and guest suite were fantastic. Can't say anything more than that.

Great House and so loved the location.

Waimea is my favorite Big Island location. This house was actually bigger than I thought. It has two bed rooms and a loft that also has a bed. Everything worked and it was very comfortable and quiet. Only thing that would have made a 5 would be new mattresses.

Hillside Retreat

College friends renewing old relationship. House had everything needed to relax and fully enjoy the setting. Separate lodging in cottage was a boon to having some down time and accommodating different sleep/rise patterns. Wish there'd been a small deck table to enjoy sunset dinner outside living/kitchen area.......Hostess is wonderful, helpful and a real joy to the stay.

Lovely home

Spent 4 nights as a family of 4 during our spring break in March. Nice to have room to spreadout (teens each had a room and parents had the ohana room). We appreciated the games/reading material and a fully stocked kitchen (complete with spices to use!) Especially happy with the cooler weather (in 50s each morning and night) and the pheasants/turkey/peacocks that visited the yard. Beautiful view, very calming and quiet neighborhood. The hill provides quite the morning workout!

Disappointing stay

While weather is out of everyones control, the location of this accommodation is at altitude and in a predictably cool and rainy location. Unluckily for us , the weather was extremely cool and raining constantly. There was no heating available and we were extremely cold , damp and uncomfortable and left after 3 nights, (of a 14 night stay), for warmer and dryer accommodation. We approached the vendor for support but she failed to mention that there were space heaters available ( they had not been evident to us and their presence was only mentioned after we had moved out). The barbecue was reported to the vendor as unclean/unkept and she saw that it was remedied. All of the blinds in the accommodation were in poor repair. In addition, the closet for the separate cabin was full of disorganized random storage( including vanes from the vertical blind system which were coming off ), which made its use impossible. The sitting area is very small and certainly inadequate for more than 3 people.

We are located at almost 3000 feet elevation above sea level and during the winter time it does get cold here. I appreciate the feedback for the closets and the BBQ which we have organized and purchased a new BBQ for our guests. Amazing property! Our family loved this place. Our kids played soccer in the yard, we had meals outside, and grateful for house amenities. The landscape of this property is beautiful and relaxing. Proximity is in the middle of anywhere you need to go i.e. beaches, touristy things. Foodland is 5 minutes away. Best grocery store for poke and marinated meats for grilling dinner. We appreciated the beach towels and accessories! We’d definitely stay here again!

Quiet, beautiful spot with a killer view. The one confusing part in the listing was that the master bedroom and bath were in a separate converted garage, so you have to walk outside to the kitchen and main house. The master was spacious and comfortable, but there was a smell of mold that would surface occasionally. Waimea gets a lot of moisture and I’m told this is a common problem, especially if windows and doors are kept closed for too long. That said, it was a unique and enjoyable stay, and a great value.

This is a beautiful property, the landscaping is gorgeous and the view is spectacular. We’ve stayed here several times but this time sadly, the conditions of the main house and the ohana suite were disappointing. Both buildings need maintenance which although the host responded immediately to, none of it was taken care of during our 14 day stay. I truly hope this changes for future guests but am not sure we will choose to stay here again even though it’s so beautiful and close to our local family.

Beautiful Home and Property

It is nicely decorated and looks even more beautiful in person. The wood smell made it that much cozier.The kitchen was fully stocked, the shower was nice, and we really appreciated the beach towels and chairs. The large yard is beautiful and we loved sitting outside on the porch or inside behind the screened door to listen to all the animals around. The plants outside even smelled nice! The location of the house is great; we could easily drive into town for groceries or take out. No complaints here!

The Perfect Vacation Stay

What a great house with all the amenities we need. Comfortable beds, great bathrooms, and a well equipped kitchen & outdoor dining area. Not to mention the place was very clean.For us, it wasn't just a place to stay during our vacation, it was like a home away from home. It was very comfortable and pleasantly quiet neighborhood. We spent a lot of time enjoying the yard with the view of Mauna Kea every morning.
