On Maui's sunny south shore, is the romantic Honu’ea cottage, where quiet peaceful living is a way of life. Honu'ea (Hawksbill Turtle) is named after the endangered turtles that come and nest on the sandy shores in front of the property. Honu’ea is perfect for honeymooners or couples just wanting a unique tranquil getaway. The cottage is located on an acre of landscaped grounds with an unobstructed beachfront view of the Pacific Ocean. Just steps from the front door you can take long walks on miles of uncrowded sandy beach.

Our host was a fabulous host. Very responsive. Felt like I left Maui with a new friend. Loved the cottage, walked to the beach. And the best was getting to watch the Hawaiian giant green sea turtles come ashore at sunset, and go back in the water at sunrise. Walking to distance to shops/food/groceries. Our stay was memorable and goes down as one of our best vacations ever. Thanks again to our fabulous host.

Descriptions and reviews are spot on. View, sunset, ocean sounds, turtles and proximity to beach (steps away) all make this an exceptional place over a condo or resort. Exactly what we wanted: a cottage with an authentic Maui vibe.

This was the perfect home base for a week on Maui! The place was super clean, comfortable, quiet, and right on the beach. It’s centrally located, making it an easy walk to local shops and restaurants. The host was incredibly responsive, too. We would love to stay here again!

What a wonderful place! It is very cute and just the right size. It's as close as you can get to the beach and walking distance to shops and restaurants. We watched basking sea turtles come in to the beach to sleep and gazed at a terrific night sky. The hosts are friendly and easy going. We loved our stay and would definitely come again.

Our stay at Honu’ea Cottage was so wonderful! We loved the location as it was close to so many restaurants and activities. The cottage was perfect for 2 people and we enjoyed the view to the ocean from the lanai and from the inside. There was everything we needed for our stay. Quiet and peaceful space to enjoy our vacation. Amber, the host, was exceptional with communication before and throughout our stay. Great recommendations for places to eat! Highly recommend this lovely cottage.

This was our 2nd stay at the Cottage, great location. Love walking through the path in the backyard to see the turtles and walk the beach each morning. Comfortable king size bed, full kitchen with a nice mixture of spices and condiments. Amber is so easy to contact for any questions and was very responsive to us during one of the storms. Easy to get around the island from here - very centrally located.

This one bedroom apartment is very comfortable and is well supplied with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. It is private, easy access to the entire island and shops/food a short drive and many within walking distance to either cook dinner or get take out and watch sunset from the balcony.

This was our second stay here. It is a great location to access shops, restaurants and the rest of the island. The VRBO has everything you need to enjoy the week. A quick walk through backyard and you are on a sandy beach, where turtles come to rest at night. We will stay here again when we are on Maui.

Perfectly Cozy Hawaii Hideaway
Loved our stay here! Walking distance to sea turtles, short distances to some of the best, affordable restaurants Maui has to offer. Perfect for a couple's getaway.

The cottage was exactly what we wanted. Privacy, beach front and quiet. Amber is very accommodating and it has the basics and then some. It is second story so the view is great so just meet the challenge of a few more steps. Enjoy the moment.

The perfect stay
This was the perfect place to stay, private and quiet to spend a 25th anniversary. We absolutely loved it. We will highly recommend this place to anyone that goes to Maui.

Honu’ea Cottage
Just the right amount of everything. Comfortable tasteful decor with the benefit of the beach just steps away. Beautiful location and easy access to hiking, snorkeling and outdoor exploration. Enjoyed every second of our week there.

My husband, son (infant), and I absolutely loved staying at this cottage. The proximity to the beach and restaurants was perfect. The sunsets at night and sunrise beach walks was exactly what I needed for this vacation. We saw many green sea turtles. Amber was awesome to work with. I highly recommend this property!

We loved our stay. The sunset from the porch thru the palm trees over the narrow beach were to die for. We could leave the slider open with just the screen and listen to the surf. Waking up to that is hard to beat. Two blocks away is an ordinary shopping district that has what you need. After driving thru other areas along that coast can’t imagine a more comfortable place for a couple to stay.

Glorious location and space
We had a wonderful stay with a very nice unit and great views, close to the beach, turtles on the beach, great little neighborhood close to stores and restaurants.

Great location in Kihei
We had a very pleasant stay at the cottage. It is very well appointed with everything you need to enjoy the beach. The kitchen is well stocked we were very comfortable. The view is lovely and the location is great with many dining excellent dining options within walking distance. We definitely recommend this property!

We just spent our honeymoon here and it was absolutely wonderful. The cottage had what we needed, the views from the back balcony and beach are stunning. Very easy to work with our host. I highly recommend and would love to come back! These photos are ones we took from the sand directly behind the cottage and from the balcony.
