Lake Wales Country Club is an oasis that you will happily call your home away from home. Play golf on the 18-hole Lake Wales Country Club course designed by Don Ross. Swim in the heated pool or soak in the spa. Enjoy tennis and pickle-ball (use our racquets or bring your own), or just relax watching any of 200 cable channels on our 70” widescreen tv. Fast, 100Mbps high-speed internet and strong Wi-Fi signal throughout the space keeps you connected. The greater condo complex encompasses miles of private, quiet streets, ideal for morning walks. This 1400+ square foot condo is ideally suited for 4 but sleeps up to 6 with a queen-sized sleeper sofa in the living room.

When you are ready to explore, venture a few minutes down the road to stroll the paved and streetlit path around Lake Wailes (yes, the “i” is supposed to be there, long story), with its historic homes, gazebo, and sweeping Spanish moss. Check out nearby Bok Tower & Gardens, the Lake Wales Little Theater, or the Lake Wales Arts Center. Grab a bite at one of the many restaurants in historic downtown Lake Wales.

A short drive from Lake Wales finds you walking one of the numerous nearby nature preserves, swimming in Lake Pierce, climbing aboard the rides at Legoland, or skydiving just outside of town. (Note: lots more local suggestions can be found in our electronic guidebook, here).

With Lake Wales at the center of the state, all your favorite Florida attractions are an easy day trip away. Less than an hour's drive gets you to the suite of Disney parks (avoid the traffic jams of Kissimmee, stay here!). About an hour and you arrive at Sea World, Universal Studios, and Busch Gardens. A bit further gets you to Tampa and the famous Florida Aquarium, not to mention top-ranked sports teams.

Lovely apartment, gracious host

My stay in Lake Wales was great from beginning to end! The apartment is well taken care of and very homey. At the end of a long day, it was a relief to come home to the apartment. Greg was a great host and very responsive. Definitely would book again!

In summary, my three-week stay in this VRBO property in what appeared to be a run down property when pulling into the Lake Wales Country Club, this rental offered a peaceful haven after long workdays, The tranquil cul-de-sac location, the owner’s generosity, and the comfort of the furnishings and beds were definite highlights. The condo was well taken care of considering the appearance when first pulling into this location. While bending down to pick up something I dropped on the rug by the sofa, I discovered a hidden world of forgotten items beneath the sofa. It was a clear oversight and a clear indication that the cleaning crew had missed the mark. When I moved the Ottoman, I uncovered even more items that had escaped the cleaning crew’s scrutiny. I was met with a collection of silverware that still bore traces of food. The pans had to be cleaned as well. This was a noticeable oversight, especially given the otherwise commendable level of comfort and furnishing in the condo, which were quite nice. With a bit more attention to detail in the cleaning crew, this VRBO property has the potential to offer an even more exceptional guest star rating of all 5 stars. Knowing this kind owner now, he will probably be making this cleaning crew check under every bed and sofa and polish the silverware and pots and pans. Thank you Gregory!
