4) 2 Back Pack Beach Chairs (adjustable w/headrest)
5) 2 xtra basic beach chairs
6) Super cool sand toy play set w/ mesh carry bag
7) 4 bikes
8) Cool baby play pool tent
9) plenty of beach towels

Located at the end of Wood Avenue, between Shipwatch and North Breakers on Saint Simons Island.

NOTE for Dog Lovers: We love pets and we are on a pet friendly beach that has some time restrictions between Memorial Day & Labor day. The county rules regarding dogs on East Beach state, "Animals are prohibited on this beach from Memorial Day through Labor Day between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. From 6 p.m. to 9 a.m., dogs are allowed on the beach and do not need to be leashed, but must be in the owner's immediate control.” The great part is that from Labor Day in Sept through Memorial Day in May - the dogs are allowed on the beach all day long!
If you plan on bringing your pooch to stay with you in the cottage, there is a $125 Pet Fee.
NOTE: If you plan on bringing a pet guest - you must include the pet fee in your inquiry. When making the requests there is a drop-down menu where you choose how many Adults, Children, and Pets. PLEASE DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP.

"Lucky Enough" is a fully restored and renovated, classic Southern beach cottage, nestled under a shady canopy of romantic moss covered live oaks. This cottage was built in the 1800's and moved to the island, and in recent years, completely renovated inside and out. Great care was taken to reclaim all of the original wood and incorporate it into the interior accents used in the ceilings, walls, fireplace, and furniture. The original brick from the original cottage was used as pavers surrounding the exterior of the home.
It has a tall airy open feeling, original exposed wood beams accent the tongue and groove beadboard ceiling. Restored with attention to details, you will find a reclaimed wood breakfast bar, granite countertops, cook's kitchen with top of the line appliances, impressive reclaimed wood wrapping the fireplace, and gleaming refinished heart of pine and oak floors.
The renovation brought the house to the most modern of standards while preserving all the charm and materials from the original cottage. The fireplace is wrapped with wood salvaged from the attic, the sliding barn doors are from old attic beans as are the breakfast bar and the hallway opening. Renovated from the studs out, it's the most adorable and memorable cottage on the East end and you will enjoy it's very private location.
When you arrive, you can feel the stresses of life wash away the minute you walk through the white picket fence. You will find several magical nooks on this property to relax and enjoy the salty air and peaceful mood that envelopes this sweet cottage. Enjoy your morning coffee at the little bistro table and chairs underneath the oak tree in the front yard. As the island is waking up, take a quiet morning walk on East beach, which is a quick little stroll right out your front door. When you get back from your walk in the sand, the swing in front yard is the perfect place to relax and get lost in that good book you have been meaning to read for months. Later in the afternoon, a restful nap is ready to be had while lounging on the quiet screened in front porch. Evenings are well spent grilling seafood and steaks in the back yard, playing cornhole, cards, or just lounging around the firepit roasting marshmallows. This cottage has everything you need to enjoy a restful relaxing quiet time at the beach. Located at the end of a very quiet street with no through traffic, you will not be sharing your mental or physical space with anyone but the trees, stars, and salty breeze.
You can walk right out the front door and up the short 1 block walk, and have your toes in the water in less that 2 minutes. Our stretch of beach has the widest area of dry sand at both low and high tide, unlike many parts SSI that lose a lot of their beach at high tide. When you hit the sand, hang a right and stroll right over to the patio of the King & Prince for great cocktails or lunch.
If you don't feel like cooking dinner, Crab Daddy's, The Crab Trap, Beachcomber Bar & Grill, and Barrier Island Brewing are a very short bike ride up the road. If you ride a little further you will be right in St. Simons' Pier Village where you will find many more restaurants, sweet shops, cafe's, ice cream shops, and several unique clothing and home decor boutiques. Also down by the village you can visit the SSI Lighthouse Museum, fish off the pier (bait and tackle shop right there on Mallery St.). Make sure you take a walk through the beautiful Neptune Park and enjoy the oceanside pool, playground, miniature golf course, public library, and theatre. Make a point to learn about Neptune, for whom the park is named after - one of my favorite SSI history lessons.
When you settle in for the evening at Lucky Enough, you will find the cozy master has a king bed and the 2nd bedroom can be configured as a king or two twins. Just let us know what you want and we'll have it ready for your arrival. The living room brand new furniture, including a new queen sleeper sofa should you need an additional sleeping area. We have plenty of comfy extra pillows, high quality linens and extra blankets. There are wall-mounted flat-screen TV's in the bedrooms and den, as well as WiFi throughout.
There are beautiful moss-draped Live Oaks in both the front and rear yards to provide plenty of shading while you enjoy a meal outside or drinks with friends/neighbors. The dining room seats four at the table and the breakfast bar provides an additional 4 stools. The kitchen is decked out with a gas range, microwave, dishwasher, 36-inch side by side refrig/freezer, and washer/dryer.
Our motto is: If you're Lucky Enough to be at the beach, you're Lucky Enough!
There are 4 bikes provided for your enjoyment.
Additional bikes can be rented just a few blocks away at Ocean Motion Surf Co. across from the Crab Trap or in the village at Island Carts, Island Bicycle, or Two Brothers Bike shop.
The beach is a quick couple of minutes walk right out the door. We highly recommend the Trolley tour, a Kayak marsh tour, and an inland fishing excursion for starters. I have heard through the grapevine that SSI has THE BEST ghost tour in all of the South, if that is your cup of tea. I will never find out because I do not know for certain if ghosts are real or not and I don't want to find out!
Parking is on-site. There is enough space for up to 3 vehicles, depending on size and how you park.
The backyard is fully fenced in by a wood privacy fence with a gate on the side.
There is no public transport in the area.
Lawn service comes every other Tuesday so they might arrive during your stay.
Trash collection is Tuesdays. The Green bin, in the front right of the parking area, is for your use. Please ensure it is out Monday night.

Preguntas frecuentes
Acerca del anfitrión
Anfitrión: Tara and Brian Newton

We live in Suwanee, GA with our 2 children. They keep us VERY busy - one is a sports fanatic and one is a lover of music and art. We love every opportunity we have to get out of the big city and head down to SSI and enjoy the slow pace, family bike rides, and great seafood.
Por qué eligió esta propiedad
My Aunt lived on SSI for many years and after we visited a few times - it was easy to see why she was in love with this island. It is the opposite of all the popular beach vacation destinations. It is full of character, charm, and history with none of the traffic or crowds. It is just so easy to get around on bikes or a golf cart, and everything you need is so close. We fell in love with this cottage because it offered all of the things my Southern heart loves. The cottage itself was renovated impeccably by the former owner and we really appreciated their efforts to use all of the original wood and brick that was part of the original cabin that was built in the 1800's and later brought over to the island. The icing on the cake was the beautiful trees, the swing, the porch, the fire pit out back, and close proximity to the beach...it is just everything we needed to escape the stresses of life and enjoy being together.
Qué distingue a esta propiedad
This is a classic real SSI Beach cottage that instantly gives you a feeling of stepping away from the rest of the busy world. Whether you are on the front porch reading, or enjoying an evening fire under the big oak canopy with the stars twinkling through the branches - it feels like you have gone back in time, to your own little world. This cottage is magical to me!
I have been told by long time residents that this is really the "Little Yellow House" and they used to climb the trees and play in the yard when they were young children.
I love that this special little cottage holds so many happy memories for so many people and I love that many more are being made by our family and our guests.
