Not only was this historic house stunning, it was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy a wonderful long weekend on Tybee Island. The location was within walking distance to a private beach, the lighthouse, several restaurants and the park. John, the host, was always a text away of we needed anything. We enjoyed riding the bikes and playing ping pong on the porch. I also loved the history behind the house as well. Thank you for a relaxing weekend in a gorgeous home.

We had an amazing time. The property was perfect for the size of our family and the proximity to the beach was amazing. No ohn was accommodating and responded in a timely fashion which was much appreciated.

Everything more than met our expectations. My only suggestion is you need a railing going down the concrete steps toward the gazebo and beach. At 77 I found I needed someone to hold on to me as I maneuvered the steps. But there was always someone around.All the other steps were fine. Loved the outdoor drink refrigerator. Kitchen was a dream to cook in. And the 10 family members fit so comfortably around the dining room table.

Excellent historic home for family trip to Tybee! Check-in and communication were exceptionally easy. The location was perfect for access to the beach and to all Tybee has to offer!

Great House

Great house with lots of room for family. Easy walk to beach, as well as restaurants. Really nice park just a few steps away. Our family of 13 folks had lots of room.

Lovely old home for a large group

Beautiful, historic and large home with plenty of room, a wraparound porch on two floors, and conveniences for a large group. Near the beach, restaurants and walkways. We would stay again.

Great vacation home at Tybee

The Tybee vacation home was very spacious and clean. We especially enjoyed outdoor dining and visiting on the huge wraparound porches. The park and playground was a very short walk and perfect for our two small grandchildren. The walk to the beach was also short and private and the owner provided a beach cart which was very nice. The bedrooms and bathrooms were great band lots of room to relax.

Family Reunion

The property was a walk back in history for all of us. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was very accommodating for everyone's needs. This was our first visit to Tybee.Tybee Island

Magnificent house for our family gathering of cousins. Tremendous kitchen, dining room and deck. Easy access to the beach. Couldn't have been any for our reunion.

Fantastic Place To Stay

John and his family have a fantastic place to stay. Very historical, close to the beach, light house parks so very much to do we just could not get it all in. We may have to get together again and stay longer. We had plenty of room and very nice sleeping arrangements, showers and the tubs were a god send when relaxing. Could not have picked a better place to stay with our group of 12. Loved every minute of our stay. Hope to be back soon.

Great stay

There were 12 in our family group and this house accommodated us well. We never felt crowded. The historic home was charming with beautiful architectural details. It’s located a short, easy walk from the beach and a thirty minute drive to Savannah. The host was very easy to reach and was super friendly.

Our family vacation at this historic home was truly wonderful. With seven adults, we had more than enough space for everyone to enjoy their own personal quiet time while still having plenty of room to gather together. The house offered so many activities—chess, checkers, board games—that kept us entertained whenever we weren’t at the beach.The beach itself was perfect. No crowds, beautiful water, and exactly what we hoped for. We also took a dolphin excursion, which the kids absolutely loved. This location is ideal for families who want to slow down, relax, and spend meaningful time together across multiple generations.The home had every amenity we needed and several thoughtful extras we didn’t expect—beach chairs, bicycles, laundry access, and more. Because the home was built in the 1800s, there were a few simple instructions to follow, like keeping the upstairs doors closed and using fans to stay cool, but that was completely understandable and added to the charm of staying in such a unique place.Our host was incredibly accommodating and accessible, though everything was so well prepared that we didn’t need a thing once we arrived. It felt like every detail had already been anticipated. We even enjoyed the novelty of going up and down the stairs—if you needed something, it was guaranteed to be on the opposite floor, which became a fun little part of the experience.This vacation was perfect for us, and we left with wonderful memories.

Family get together

Family (age ranged 76 to 4) get together. This place met or exceeded all of our expectations. The house was clean, beds were comfortable and the kitchen was amazing. Everything we needed was there.The area the house was in, right across from a park, was quiet without the island traffic, but close enough we could walk to restaurants. The beach was clean and close, we visited it everyday. Would definitely stay at again if in the area.

Fabulous historic home spotlessly clean and stocked with everything you need. Host goes above and beyond quickly answering any questions and providing recommendations. Beds are super comfy. Lots of bathrooms. Great porches. Neighborhood is quiet with quick access to a sparsely populated beach area. We had a great time and this house made it even more special.I highly recommend.

Beach Renter

This house is amazing. It has it's original charm while supplying updated amenities. My family will never stay anywhere else when we visit Tybee or Savannah. The owners were a dream to work with even on short notice. You can't ask for anything more.

Wonderful Tybee Memories

We’ve been renting weeks this wonderful home since 2006. So many wonderful, special family memories have been made here. The kitchen is spectacular, the dining room table is huge and WiFi is fast. The large wrap-around porches are the perfect place for conversation or to enjoy an afternoon thunderstorm. We’ll definitely be back!

Historical Southern Charm

The house was absolutely perfect for our family. We had 13 adults and 2 children with our family group. The history and southern charm of the house welcomes you to feel like you’re home away from home. Location is excellent with a short walk to the beach, which is one of the few sections of private beach still on Tybee. The park and playground across the street was also great for the kids. Our family had a wonderful stay and the communication with the owners was excellent. We look forward to our stay again next year.

Best spot on Tybee!

We had a wonderful stay on Officers Row. The house is the best suited for large groups that I've ever stayed in- lots of space, every kitchen item you could need, plenty of everything, and lots of bathrooms. Nice touches like night lights and motion sensor ligths as well. It was the perfect spot for our multi-generation family with ages 4 to 82. John was a great host and very communicative and shared great stories of the house and island. HIghly recommend!

Island adventure!

Beautiful historical home with all amenities one could think of . Short walk to beach and children’s playground , great walking , biking and golf cart area . Also , our host could not be beat. We had a couple instances that needed attention and he was right on them 😀

Women’s retreat

This was a perfect atmosphere for hosting a family style intimate women’s retreat. Like hitting the pause button on time. The porches are an amazing gathering spot. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you need. Communication with owner was easy. We really enjoyed the historical value of the property!

Vacation house.

Location was great. House history was awesome. House needed a little TLC.. was a problem with mice. Chewed into some of our food . We had to store all food in plastic containers.
