Three bedroom chalet on Sixteen Mile Lake

The Buck Rack Chalet is nestled in the Hiawatha National Forest with 100 ft. of waterfront property on Sixteen Mile Lake. This three bedroom chalet is the perfect destination for a family or group of friends to gather for relaxation and fun.
In the summer months, enjoy fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and swimming in the lake. Take a short 15 -30 minute trip to the Pictured Rocks, a glass bottom shipwreck tour on Lake Superior, the beaches of Lake Superior, or bike around Grand Island.
During the winter, there is no better place to stay to enjoy the hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails the area has to offer. Our cabin sits right in the center of the lake effect snowbelt in the Upper Pennisula.
Munising is 12 miles from the chalet where you will find a large grocery store, restaurants, gas stations, gift shops, churches, and bars. There is also a really nice Visitor's Center there with lots of information about the area. Make your reservation today!

Beautiful place in an idyllic setting. The chalet contained every amenity you need for a comfortable stay. Very clean and well stocked. The view of the lake from the balcony was very pretty and scenic. The location was remote, yet within 15-20 minutes of town and all the things visitors would want to see. The area is really pretty.

Beautiful views, clean, comfortable home away from home! Our family enjoyed it so much, we plan to return! Loved kayaking along the peaceful lake, swimming with our dogs off the dock and playing board games at the large table by the windows. We took advantage of the grill on the deck and the ample kitchen to prep simple meals, and appreciated the comfy beds! There is lots to do nearby…. But it seems like we barely scratched the surface! Pictured rocks paddling trip, the glass bottom shipwreck cruise and Miners Beach were fun and memorable sights! The Carberry Wood fired pizza was outstanding as well as Miners pasties and the local craft breweries in Munising. A great place to rest, reconnect and recharge!

We were a family 6 and this place was perfect. The house is comfortable and well appointed. The lake is beautiful and there are plenty of water toys to keep everyone entertained. It was kind of a drive to town, but a perfect place to settle in after a long day of exploring. Amy the host was super responsive and did a great job of communicating.

Beautiful property and the lake is very quiet and clean. Great beachy shoreline, and the kayaking equipment is excellent! The house is beautiful with tons of natural light and all the things you need to cook at home. Bedrooms were all comfortable and the upstairs stayed cool during even the hottest days. Easy drive to and from Munising too! A really beautiful UP north experience.

This was a beautiful property and Amy was an excellent host. The chalet was so comfortable and well equipped and the little lake was gorgeous! Munising was close by and we explored the coast by hiking and boating. Marquette was a great day trip from this location too. We had a wonderful time!!

The cabin was fully stocked, even had some items we forgot to bring. Very nice and clean, we had a great Christmas staying here. They even had games and a sled to play in the snow. It was an amazing stay.

We had an amazing time here! Loved every minute of the stay, and Amy was a fantastic host! We got to experience the snowstorm of the decade (3 feet of snow in 2 days), and we were warm & cozy here the whole time. Love the setup of the living-kitchen-dining space, made the perfect areas to have family time, games, and enjoy the fireplace. Beds were super comfy. Love the loft area for reading. Great views. Beautiful road for snowy walks. We hope to come back again! Thanks Amy for a great stay!

Very well maintained cottage with everything we needed for our stay. The lake was great to kayak, lots of areas to explore. Great hiking, waterfalls, dining out within a short drive.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful chalet with gorgeous views of the lake. The surrounding area was peaceful and scenic. The interior was spacious, comfortable, clean, and just perfect for a family vacation. One of the best places we have stayed – we highly recommended it!

Everything from booking to check out was perfect!! The house is even more gorgeous in person and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay for our family!! Only thing that could have made it better… we could have stayed even longer! We will definitely be doing that next year!

Cabin was perfect for a week long stay with 6 adults and one dog. Perfectly stocked, extremely clean and very dog friendly. View from the house was relaxing, and use of kayaks was a huge plus. Great location to get to numerous area highlights! Communication with Amy was easy, and received quick responses to questions that we had. Overall, a fantastic stay!

Family Vacation

The property was great. Very accurate to what you see in the pictures. We really enjoyed the kayaks, the open concept living area, access to the dock and beach, and the peace and quiet at night. It was a great space for our party of 8!

Perfect Getaway Weekend

The cabin was everything that we had hoped. The location was great, close to the orv trails. The view was amazing. Definitely want to go back again.
