We had a very nice stay. The kitchen was great. We cooked all of our meals in the kitchen. The hot tub was also wonderful. We spend our days at Moonlight Beach and Oceanside. Also conveniently located close to LEGOLAND.

West of the 5, East of the Pacific Hwy, easy walking distance to beaches and our favorite eateries in Leucadia. Will be even better once the Farmers Market is back at the elementary school! Didn’t use the hot tub b/c it was crazy hot the week we stayed but looked clean and well maintained. Will definitely look to book again.

Beautiful home in a quiet location! Had everything we needed and more- hot tub, AC, beach chairs and boogie boards… We loved this place and would happily stay here again if we’re in the area.

Dona's place was very clean and comfortable. Location was walking distance to our favorite chicken sandwich and al pastor tacos. Beach was an easy walk. Really a perfect place to stay.

Perfect Location

Very comfortable space to enjoy the beach town of Leucadia. Close to the beach and restaurants. We enjoyed ourselves really good communication with the property owner and I would highly recommend.

Great location

We had such a nice time staying at this place. The host was incredible, and the place was incredibly clean. Great place for couples to hang out at, there were three of us couples in our fifties, and we had a blast. Easy walk to the train station, an easy walk to downtown. Would definitely stay there again.

Beachy hideaway.

Such a great hidden gem! Dona was a great host. Efficient and easy check-in. It’s a cosy and clean cottage tucked away half mile from the steps at Beacons beach. Really magical.

Encinitas family trip

We had a really nice time. The property is well maintained and clean. It wasn't quite beach weather but there are plenty of chairs, towels, wagon, and bikes. Easy walk for coffee in the morning. We also enjoyed the farmers market on Sunday.

Tropical Paradise Indeed

We spent Father’s Day weekend at this lovely home; me, my father and sister. The home was exactly as described, the hot tub was phenomenal, excellent way to end the day, and all the outdoor seating…loved it. The location couldn’t be better, you truly are just a quick 15 minute walk to Beacon’s Beach, Coffee Coffee (great little coffee shop), and a short 8 minute drive to The Crack Shack (think chicken, everything chicken). Easy access to Hwy 5 making it easy to get to all the San Diego sites. Most important, Dona is an excellent host, quick to respond when needed, and such a warm and friendly person. I highly recommend Dona’s home for your next San Diego adventure.

The house is well decorated and perfect for our family with three bedrooms upstairs and kitchen, living room and half bath on the main floor. It was a short walk to restaurants on 101 a pleasant maybe 20 minute walk to Moonlight Beach. We enjoyed the hot tub and relaxing in the outdoor spaces. We would definitely stay at the house again. Dona was very responsive to questions.

Only small piece of feedback - master bed could use a mattress topper, was quite hard! And wish there had been a tea kettle in kitchen, but besides that it was a great place, great location!

Our stay was very enjoyable. The house had plenty of room and was in great shape. It was a very reasonable walk to beach and there was plenty of beach gear available. Our host was very responsive to our one request.... taken care of almost immediately.We would definitely recommend it to others.

Clean and comfortable getaway

We wanted somewhere we could be comfortable hanging out in our PJs and gabbing, and this place was perfect. It's a beautiful home with all the furnishings—the kitchen had everything we needed!—and there are nice views from both patios. The hot tub was nice, and the host was very responsive when I had a question about it.

Great Vacation!

Great place! Our family had a fantastic stay at Dona’s Tropical Paradise and would definitely stay there again. Pros - Dona was extremely quick in answering questions both before and during the trip. - The house was clean, had a great layout for a family (everyone could congregate in the living room or do their own thing comfortably and not disturb others), and was equipped with everything you need (beach towels, kitchen supplies, coffee pods - even a kid playhouse). - The hot tub and ping pong table were GREAT after running around all day and wanting a low key evening. - We mostly ordered delivery for dinner and there were lots of great options nearby. Cons - There is some train noise. While the house is not overly close to the track, our son had a bit of trouble falling asleep. It was not loud enough to wake anyone once they were asleep. - Getting to Beacon’s beach was a bit trickier than other places we have stayed. There is not a sidewalk the whole way so you need to hug the side of the road as there was not much of a shoulder. Since it was winter we didn’t haul beach stuff back and forth, but it would have been a challenging walk if we had all the usual gear (towels, sand toys, etc.). It was fun to watch the surfers though.
