This home, on what is affectionately called California's Riviera in the exclusive gated community of Beach Road, provides privacy and seclusion not commonly associated with beachfront property. It is just a short ride to great restaurants in Dana Point and San Clemente, as it is between these two seaside communities. It is less than 45 miles from the airport and minutes from the train station. Learning experiences abound at nearby San Juan Capistrano Mission or Dana Point Harbor Ocean Institute. Proximity to famous theme parks such as Disneyland, Knottsberry Farm, SeaWorld, and the San Diego Zoo makes it easy to create a memorable day's adventure.

This 1000 sq. ft. upper-level unit. The primary queen bedroom is accompanied by a second bedroom with two twin beds and two full bathrooms.

The Guest does not have access to the main house backyard.
This is a duplex. Both units share parking and beach access.
The house is priced appropriately for its current condition as a rental property in the gated beachfront community.
The beach area is subject to change due to tidal conditions. Beachfront properties face harsh daily conditions from the salt air and sand, so please make sure you are comfortable with this prior to booking. We cannot guarantee the condition of the sand or the access point to the beach.
The Amtrak runs along the active railroad track on the opposite side of Beach Rd and the Pacific Coast Hwy.
This home is equipped with exterior surveillance as the local city noise ordinance requires.
Due to the moderate coastal climate, this house (like most in the area) does not have air conditioning.
This home is located in a quiet neighborhood and is only suitable for quieter groups. Our rental agreement includes a no-tolerance policy regarding excessive noise, occupancy, and/or parties. Deposit forfeitures and/or evictions are strictly enforced. Please make sure you are comfortable with these policies before renting with Vacasa Seasonals, Inc.
Beachfront properties face harsh daily conditions from the salt air and sand, so please make sure you are comfortable with this prior to booking. We cannot guarantee the condition of the sand or the access point to the beach
This unit is managed by Vacasa Seasonals Inc. and may require a Security Deposit.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

The TV in the main bedroom isn’t connected to anything. That’s a drag. Disposal doesn’t work.

Fantastic area, nice unit. Needs quite a bit of maintenance such as rotting deck railing, rusty microwave, leaking primary toilet and leaking shower door in hall bath. Notified manager who said they will take steps to repair.

Wifi did not work and I never received a response from property management to my multiple requests to have it fixed. TV did not work because of no wifi and I couldn’t work from the property.

Love the gated community. Morning coffee tasted better on the deck looking at the ocean watching for dolphins. The train does go by frequently so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs but isn’t a big deal. If you need help with Vacasa I would say call the text messaging is useless.

Family trip

We had a lovely stay. The property is in a great location with beautiful views. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook. Beds were comfortable. The floors were quite dirty when we checked in but I called the management company and they resolved the issue immediately. We would definitely stay here again.

You can’t have ANY visitors

The photos are not accurate representations of the place but the most frustrating part of our stay was learning you literally can’t have a single person over for dinner if you already have four people staying at the property. The Gate Guards won’t let people in unless the property manager adds them to a computer system and they won’t do it. Plus they told us the owners are surveilling the property. We would have never picked this property if we knew this because we were visiting family. No parties is one thing, not being able to invite my grandma over for dinner is ridiculous.

Beautiful location

This house is as described. The location is beautiful. The house is dated but it didn’t bother us as we expected it from past reviews. Kitchen could use some additional provisions. This was not an issue for us in October but the house does not have A/C. We would stay again but would shop knowing what to expect

Great location.

The location was great and the management company was very responsive. That being said, the furnishings are very worn out and uninviting. The views are good, great location in Dana Point near ocean and amenities but cleanliness and an upscale feel would be more important to us in the future.

The property was in seriously gross disrepair. Everything is rusty and moldy and falling apart. The furniture is old, stinky and stained. The oven/stove didn’t work at all. We were told it would be replaced while we were there, but that never happened. The day we checked out, there were guys in the parking lot with an oven, waiting for us to leave. There is black mold on the ceilings, and mold in both showers. Most of the windows don’t open/have no cranks, and the back deck is crumbling and disgusting. I conveyed all of this to the owner/management and I seriously hope they listen, and clean this house. It’s nasty. Worst place I’ve ever stayed, which is sad, because it has so much potential.

Disappointing

First off, the unit has spectacular view of the ocean. However, there are a number of critical functions that should be addressed. We could not get the stove and oven work. The garbage disposal was not functioning 80% of the windows not operable. The deck was filthy. This owner should do some work on the unit before renting it again, especially to be addressed or basic functions like the ability to cook on a working stove.
