Situated along the George Fazio Golf Course in a gated Palmetto Dunes Resort community, this completely renovated home is the perfect family getaway and golf vacation. Enjoy soaking in your own private backyard pool or head one mile to the beach. Kids will also enjoy the communal playground. And if you don't feel like driving, you have access to free seasonal Palmetto Dunes Buggy transportation!

Vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan combine to create a series of wide-open spaces in the main living area where you can watch your favorite shows on a 60-inch TV. Just outside, you'll find a balcony that overlooks the golf course and is equipped with a barbeque grill and table seating. The well-appointed kitchen features sleek quartz countertops and a full suite of appliances - including an electric range and dishwasher. When it's time to dine, there is counter seating and a formal dining table. Or, head out to the balcony to dine alfresco with a lovely view.

Access to this home requires the navigation of multiple stairs and therefore may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.

Dock details:
7 days notification is required in order to heat the pool and pool spa. A fee of USD 152 per day must be paid prior to check-in to purchase pool and pool spa heat for your stay.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Summer Family Vacay

This home perfectly suited our family of nine. The home was very clean and the bedrooms were all generously sized. The location was great as it was only a 4-5 minute bike ride to the beach. Our family also enjoyed the pool and hot tub on the property for post beach swimming. I would not hesitate to stay here again if I’m in Hilton Head.

Great Location

This house photographs well but it was very cheaply renovated. For the price, you can find better on the island. But the house has good bones. They maximized space with the beds in the rooms. Great location and proximity to everything. Great neighborhood. Decent stay. Just wouldn’t pay that much for what it is.

Worst vacation ever

Vacasa knowingly rented us a home with a broke air conditioner. The top floor air worked for the first day 1/2 and then it died too. We were absolutely miserable. Especially my 80 year old parents. We have filed a complaint and have disputed the charges with our bank. More than half of us left early due to the discomfort.

RENTER BEWARE

Vacasa knowingly rented us a house with a broken air conditioner because there were makeshift air conditioners in 2 of the bedrooms. For 7 days they told us they would send someone out to fix it, but no one ever showed up despite our persistent calls. The refrigerator was also broken too and a new one was delivered Friday morning, 6 days into our stay. Vacasa told us if we left we would forfeit our right for any compensation even though the house stayed between 84-86 degrees and no one could sleep in that heat. Worst vacation ever. Thanks for nothing Vacasa. We’ve rented houses at HHI for 23 years, but we’ll never give another penny to a Vacasa house again. Thanks to VRBO for trying to help us out through a touch situation.

Lovely home, great location

We love staying in Palmetto Dunes because it is a pretty central location on the island. This home did not disappoint. Plenty of space for our family to spread out while all essentially being in the same room due to the open floor plan. Great kitchen for cooking. Bedrooms and bathrooms were large and the backyard felt private. Lots of windows for natural light. Easy walk to the beach less than a mile each way. Quiet neighborhood.

Lacking all around for price

The previous review was negative, we had a similar experience. The pool was “cleaned”; however, debris was left all over the bottom. The exterior was so bad they sent a pressure washer out to clean during our stay. The inside of the house is clean and newly renovated. It slept the number of people comfortably as advertised. Plenty of access to amenities within driving range e.g. tennis, pickle ball, and golf (5-7 minute drive). 12 minute walk to the beach or 5 minute drive. No parking at the public access.

Great house & location, but issues with air conditioner, freezer

The layout of the home was great. The common areas were large and accommodated 11 of us easily. We didn’t use the outdoor space much except to grill (it was buggy before we sprayed for bugs and we were at the beach, biking, or playing pickle ball during the day/evening). It was easy to get to the beach, either by vehicle or bike. We did encounter issues, some that were able to be resolved quickly, some that were never resolved. When we arrived the lock was broken (we could only get in using a key from a lock box on the property) and the expected gas grill was a small charcoal one. Both were resolved quickly (the lock was replaced; a gas grill was brought from the main office for our use for the week [the old grill had broken and a replacement was on order]). The next morning we discovered the freezer portion of the refrigerator was broken and everything we’d put in it had thawed overnight - there was another refrigerator in the garage, so we used it for the remainder of the week. Also, the refrigerator leaked from the ice/water dispenser. We notified the office, someone was sent out, but they did not fix either issue. The biggest issue was the air conditioner: The upstairs unit worked great, but the main floor temp was set at 68 when we arrived (and we left it there), the actual temp stayed 76-77 (the morning we left it was 80). Workers came to deploy two window units in the main floor bedrooms to pull the hot air out of the rooms, but the HVAC unit itself was not addressed. As the window units were already stored in the house, my assumption is this isn’t the first time this has been an issue. We were issued a partial refund, which was appropriate to be given and much appreciated. Once the HVAC, refrigerator/freezer issues are resolved and the new gas grill delivered, I would rate this property higher.

Lovely house, with some challenges

Beautiful setting--loved the blue heron nest out back and the woodsy feel. Great location within Palmetto Dunes. Lovely rooms and bathrooms, although the house was greatly lacking in supplies when we arrived-- no potholders, no cutting board, no cooking utensils, and not enough dishes and forks for the number of people the house can hold (and the disassembled stove hood sitting on the island counter where we planned to cook was VERY aggravating). Quite disappointing given we planned to cook and entertain friends that very night. Would suggest some carpets and possibly window coverings to dampen the "loudness" of the house--sound reverberated on the ground floor.

Renter Beware

Overall would give the inside of the house a C+, outside an F. The place had issues, the pictures do not display the current condition of this property. Very disappointing. We rented the house for the pool and outdoor area shown in the pictures, but the outside pool deck, furniture, and surroundings were very dirty and not usable. Pool heat did not work, so no hot tub or swimming. We paid to have the pool heat turned on and received a refund. Even if the heat worked the pool was dirty and no skimmer available to get the floating items out. The pool toys were covered with leaves, brush, and snakes. The deck outside the house requires shoes, wood is splintered. The outdoor lights are broken off, even laying in the bushes. The blower in the garage has no battery and after searching around we found a broom to clean the patio off. The kitchen was not fully equipped as advertised, only three pans and the baking sheets are rusted. Not good for family meals. We were given a one-night refund which was the lowest paid night fee. We were charged a Misc charge with no explanation after multiple calls to enquire. We were charged $90 for parking when the house description shows free parking in the property description for 4 vehicles. Called to enquire why we were charged for parking and have not received a refund. It rained while we were there and the roof leaked in the kitchen.

Great house!

This house is perfect for two families with young kids, it was well-stocked with most of what you’d need for several days and the layout of the house is great. The pictures do no justice for how fabulous it is! I didn’t give it 5 stars for just a couple reasons-one was there is no blower for the backyard and everyone that visits HHI knows about the trees. We swept the back porch and patio twice otherwise you’d be stepping on acorns and debris. There was a blower in the garage but no battery. There is a skimmer so you can clean the pool as needed. No pool lights at night FYI so a bit dark out back. We also had some coffee pot issues as the reusable, universal k-cup I brought didn’t fit. We found a regular coffee pot in the kitchen island cabinet but there were no filters. We would have gone with the flow but the fire alarm had gone off in the house at 4:45am for some unknown reason so we were EXHAUSTED. Vacasa was amazing with the situation checking in and sending maintenance help that morning first thing. They were great the whole trip! Lastly, be aware this house is on the water and there is a large alligator whose home is next to the dock. He sat next to the bank the whole time we were there which made us nervous with kids. Luckily the door had a chain lock at the top so the kids couldn’t go out alone. Overall, this is a great house and I’d recommend it to anyone. And thanks again Vacasa for being greats hosts!

Sapphire By the Sea was great for our group!

Our group of 11 enjoyed this property for our annual HHI vacation. The location within Palmetto Dunes was perfect for biking to the beach and other amenities. We appreciate the easy communication with the property manager. We wish there would have been hair dryers in the bathrooms, the pool/spa heated every day-it was intermittent and not able to be controlled by us on property. Also, an idea would be to put a stick vacuum in the home for a daily sweep of the bits of sand inevitably brought into the house on shoes and towels.
