Welcome to the Mermaid House. Be a Mermaid and make some waves 🌊!!

Located on a quiet circle in Dennisport with access to Swan Pond located directly across the street. Kayak or paddleboard 2 miles to Nantucket sound enjoying many species of wildlife and relax on the beach 🏖️ .

2 Tandem & 3 Single Kayaks with 6 Bicycles (adult/kids) available to guests. Cape Cod Rail Trail and hiking trails just a short drive away. Ocean beaches are less than a 10-minute drive.

Take a bike ride to Dennis Port center and enjoy local dining, ice cream and shopping.

Newly furnished and decorated. Home features all new furniture with mermaid and beach accents found throughout.

Relax and chill on the large deck offering a gas grill and seating for 8 around the fire pit table (can be closed for extra table space). Enjoy evenings sitting around the fire pit roasting s’mores. Partially fenced in yard. Hot/cold outdoor shower.

Primary bedroom with your own bath located on the 2nd floor. Three additional generous sized bedrooms located on the first floor. One of the bedrooms has a sofa and a new queen bed.

House has central ac with the master bedroom suite having its own mini split (heat/ac) system.

Smart TVs in living room and in all bedrooms. Wireless internet

Large eat-in kitchen with built in bar stacked with all your essentials includes a dishwasher, refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, gas stove, coffee maker, Keurig coffee maker, lobster🦞pot, storage containers, mixing/baking pans, grill accessories and spices.

Basic bath, kitchen and laundry soaps provided complimentary.

Washer/Dryer located on first floor. Outdoor shower. Beach chairs, cooler and beach toys available for use.

Plenty of parking.

We are always available through a text, email or phone call.

Guests must bring linens and towels. We supply pillows, blankets and quilts.

If you are unable to bring linens, you can make reservations through local companies. Please contact owner.

We absolutely loved our stay! My family was a group of 7 for a wedding at the cape, the property was conveniently located to all events. Check in was seamless, the house was spotless and had everything you could think of. We thoroughly enjoyed dinners out on the deck and playing games in our downtime. Colleen gave some great recommendations for beaches to visit and I know we could reach out if we needed anything at all. Thank you, Colleen!

Is it possible to give 10 stars? What a FANTASTIC!! place to stay! The description of the property is 100% accurate. It is a great place for families or a group of friends… The amenities are awesome, from the fire pit, to the kitchen, to being able to walk across the street to kayak…Beds are super comfy and the living room is a great place to hang when Mother Nature throws a rainy day at you…It was also great to have the ‘red binder’ of everything you need to know :)Will definitely rent again!Thank you!!

Nice Stay

Communication with owner was easy and the house had plenty of beds. Close to Restaurants/Bars. Could walk if you really needed to.

We have been to Cape Cod 5 times and this is by far our favorite rental house. It is super well-equipped and we particularly appreciated the 4 kayaks, the large grill, the outdoor dining table with in-built gas fire pit, and the wood-burning fire pit in the garden. We will happily return.

Cozy cottage

Had a great time relaxing for a week with our adult children. Property was clean, well equipped and the kayaks were a nice bonus. Our host was very easy to get a hold of and very helpful. Would highly recommend 👍

Spacious home with great extras

Our family had a great stay. We chose this house for the location, bikes, and kayaks and it didn’t disappoint. The home also had plenty of wonderful extras like the fire table out back and the board games inside. The road was quiet but central to lots of wonderful restaurants and a short drive to several beaches. We would stay here again.

We had a wonderful week at the Mermaid house. The location was perfect for kayaking across the street at Swan Pond and for exploring the Cape. The home was clean and welcoming and we had plenty of room for our family. Bedrooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. There were multiple outside areas to sit and lots of room for the kids to play. Colleen was easy to communicate with and made our trip so easy and enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves returning to the area (which we hope to do soon!).

Wonderful Cape Cod Retreat

We had a fabulous stay at this mermaid-themed house in Dennisport! The house was very comfortable. We appreciated the many places to rest, the 2-zone a/c system, the well-stocked kitchen, the many places to relax and enjoy meals in the yard, the fire-pit table, and especially the bikes and kayaks! The location is terrific. It was great to be able to access the lake across the street, and it was a short bike ride to the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Colleen was very responsive and made our stay easy. We also appreciated the tips of beaches to visit and restaurants to try. Highly recommend this house!

Kayak trip

We were very impressed when we arrived and entered the house. It was clean, well kept and nicely decorated. The location was fantastic. Easy access to kayak and bike trail was close by as well. The host was very helpful and got back to me in minutes with any questions. We are looking forward to coming back next year.

Highly recommend!

Continuing a family tradition we've had for 35 years, our cape weekend for Columbus Day didn't disappoint. The size and layout of this property allowed for both privacy and relaxation as well as great family time in the common areas. The master suite was especially nice as it was upstairs and completely separate from all other bedrooms. Highly recommend!

Really nice place, well situated, great for families.

This is a great place for families. It is in a safe area, near supermarkets, ice cream, go carts and other things to do. Beaches are only 10-20 minutes away depending on where you go. I think the owners were genuinely thoughtful and helpful in the process and while renting. The home was well equipped and I would stay again. I recommend the home and the landlords without condition. :)

Mermaid House

Very clean, cute house. Very comfortable, good AC (95 degrees out). The only complaint we had was that the mattress on the pull out couch was not very comfortable. Other than that, it was all good!

Mermaid house

Immaculate, lovely home across the street from a pond. Kitchen is well stocked with the necessary dishes, pots, pans, utensils to cook meals. There are plenty of beds for 8 guests and comfortable seating in the living room and office. There is central air conditioning in the house which made it comfortable. My 3 adult daughters, son-in-law and 2 young granddaughters all enjoyed staying here. The host provided a welcome book and pamphlets of things to do on the Cape. I highly recommend staying here!

Great Cape Vacation!

We loved our week stay at the Mermaid house! The rooms worked well for us, our two kids, their grandma and uncle. There was plenty of space for each of us to have our rooms and we made good use of the outside table with propane fire in the evening. The kids loved the outdoor shower. The location was great and the house is on a very quiet road that was easy for us to take walks on or have the kids ride their bikes (it makes a nice loop). We loved being across from Swan Pond and made use of the kayaks a few times. Beautiful pond. Colleen was very responsive too. Very happy with our experience.

Mermaid vacation

The house with all its amenities was exactly what we had hoped for. The neighborhood provided a loop for casual biking for the kids. The house setup worked great with our three adults and three almost teens. Relaxing was easy at this location. Easy trip out for groceries up 134 or jump onto 28 right around the corner for a trip to Cuffys. We enjoyed Corporation Beach for a day and West Dennis Beach most late afternoons. The only thing I missed was my morning stroll to the ocean with my coffee but the easy access to kayaking on Swan Pond and river made up for it.

Guests from the West

We liked the place a lot. Good space and convenient location. Our only suggestion would be to provide linens and recycling. I’ve never had a VRBO require guests to bring or arrange for their own linens. This is especially taxing on guests traveling long distance like we did. If the additional costs were just added into the cost of the rental I don’t think anyone would hesitate renting this place for a few more bucks but wouldn’t have to take the time to call, rent, and arrange the linens service. We even had to make our own beds and after traveling 3,000 miles and arriving late in the evening this was not something we were very excited about doing. Lastly, not to have recycling is very odd and creates a lot of additional, unnecessary trash.

We are happy that you enjoyed your vacation. We are sorry you had unexpected travel delays due to weather especially coming from great distance. We would have happily provided linen service if asked for an additional fee. The linen service companies on the Cape provide this seamless service to guests. As far as recycling, we had our own blue cycle bin on site as the disposal company did not offer this service. Enjoy the rest of your summer.
