The quiet and cozy Captain’s Cottage is an homage to the unique history of Ballard, where a large population of Scandinavians worked in the boat building industry at the turn of the 20th century. Inside this 1915 cottage showcases many treasures from the Captain’s seafaring travels. The house is situated on a corner lot with a front and back yard, where one can sit under the shade of fruit trees or take a walk to explore the neighborhood full of great restaurants, cafes and breweries with outdoor seating. **If you have mobility issues please note steps are required to enter the property and access the bathroom. ***If you are taller than 6 feet, this house may be too small for you.

The cottage has everything including lots of fresh towels, kitchenware and a washer/dryer. The decor is well thought out and there's a good selection of sea-themed books I would have sampled during a longer stay. Parking is easy and there's plentiful food/drink to walk to in 15 min. Great neighborhood with a mix of old and new homes and lots of sweet dogs.

Cute & cozy without being cramped. It's got everything you could need! Having said that, if one or both or you are a larger person, the full sized bed is a bit tight. However, the fold out couch worked out just fine. :-)The location was perfect, quite, and the on street parking was easy-peasy every time we came "home". We enjoyed hanging out in the front yard chatting with passers by & neighborhood dog walkers. Loved it!!!!

This is a great property to stay at. Great location with easy on street parking and everything you would most likely need. Really appreciated that it's a whole house, not an apartment or space carved out of an existing house. Easy to get in and out of and the kitchen is fully equipped with most everything you would need. So, all in all absolutely the best place I have stayed at in Seattle.

Parking was fine and we did not need any laundry service. Renee had replied to questions before we arrive and we enjoyed the time we spent there very much.

Very pleasant stay in a classic Northwest cottage in the Ballard neighborhood. Cottage is well equipped with full kitchen, laundry, a big claw foot bathtub, and a nice yard. Plenty of street parking is available; always a plus in Seattle.Renee and Guillermo are gracious and responsive hosts. The live next door, so are available if you need anything, but totally respect their guests' privacy.I will definitely stay with them again!

I will start by saying Renee was a great host, helpful, quick to respond and made things easy for me. The kitchen and living room were comfortable and well stocked. The garden and neighborhood were lovely and parking right out front always available. I did have some logistical issues with the bedroom and bath that might be particular to me. There isn’t a closet in the bedroom, just a bench so I had to create piles that kept spilling on the bench . There is a wardrobe in the living room but no pants hangers. The bathroom was miniscule. Had to sidle my way in and around it - and I’m a small person ! And there’s no place to store anything in the bathroom so I had to do this awkward dance putting my toiletries on a bench in the hall, and go back and forth with one item at a time as I got ready. This all made the time there feel unsettled and not at ease. If these things don’t bother you , then I’d recommend it whole heartedly.

We loved staying at the Captains Place. It was really convenient to our sons location and places to eat. A perfect way to spend a few days in Seattle.

Cozy Comfortable Cottage

My stay in this nautically themed cottage couldn’t have been nicer! It is a sweet older home that has been charmingly decorated and outfitted with all the modern conveniences. I highly recommend this cute VRBO.
