We had a wonderful stay at this property. The house was in a great location right on the bike path and an easy walk, bike or drive to South Beach and Edgartown. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The landscaping at the property was beautiful. Host was super welcoming and helpful. We had an early arrival on the island and a late departure and he allowed us to store food and items in his garage prior to check-in and after check-out. Would definitely come back.

Great time in Katama

Friendly and thoughtful hosts at a super convient location in Katama. House was well equipped and clean. We had a great time and would come back!

Fantastic Vacation

We loved vacationing on this property ! It was a fantastic house for us . The yard is beautiful . Don and Kathy are amazing hosts !!

We were sad to see this wonderful family leave. We had several day of clouds and rain, but it did not matter, for Dawn and her clan brought a family full of smiles and sunshine that made us all happy. True to say: They all came with an infectious happiness. And thanks Dawn for respecting and caring for our home as we are sure you do your own. To all concerned, these folks have given new a definition to the meaning of "five stars," they are "five sunny and warm five stars"

Perfect Week Away!

Perfect house for kids and families. It has everything you need and at the right price. The owner is sooooo nice and set up a fire pit for us one night to roast marshmallows with the kids. We can't wait to come back.

Awesome property and hosts

We just returned from 2 glorious weeks at this propery. The hosts, Don and Cathy, were like coming home to family. The accomodations were Vinyard/Beach perfect for our family of 6, ages 6 to 75. clise to beached with parking, clise to Edgartown, markets, abd grocery store. We would definately come back!

Great week even better host!

Enjoyed our stay at the Katamy. Location was perfect- close to Edgartown and South beach! House was spotless and very comfortable with a great deck and yard. I recommend renting bikes to easily get around the area. Don and Kathy were fantastic hands on hosts.

Way too short a stay!

The house is very well maintained. Kitchen stocked with everything you may need. AC a plus! Quiet location. Very convenient to South Beach.

Home Away from Home

A very comfortable, very clean dewelling. Includes everything needed for cooking in and out, sleeping(very comfortable beds and pillows) plenty of bathrooms, washer, dryer , tv, internet with all connection and beach toys . All one needs to do is bring their family and enjoy. Everything you can think of is there and the landlords are very pleasant individuals.

Felt like home!

We had such a wonderful vacation at the Welch's home! The house was clean and well-maintained. The location was perfect! We could walk to the Right Fork diner every morning for breakfast, and we were just a short bike ride away from the beach and town. Don and Kathy were incredible hosts! Don gave us great advice on places to visit, let us use the kayaks, and even took us on a boat ride one day. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this home to any family looking for relaxation as well as fun and adventure!!

Great vacation near South Beach

Our family of six had great beach days on South Beach. We all enjoyed walking, biking, jogging and blading around the triangle. We traveled to Edgartown, Oak Bluffs and Up Island for dinner, golf, fishing, bowling and more beaches. Thank you to Don & family for their hospitality. We enjoyed fresh caught clams and even a fire pit one evening. We made use of the grill and porch, but enjoyed the AC as well. It was nice to have the owner nearby and the use of a few more chairs and umbrellas.

Katama Gambrel

Great house and perfect hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your place and our stay on the Vineyard. Our next trip back east will definitely include your house. Our only regret is we only got out to South Beach for an hour. Too many other things to do. We still believe the Black Dog has the best chowder we've had and my son-in-law says Skinny Fat was the best sandwich he's ever had. The grandkids loved Flying Horses. Thanks.

Perfection in Katama

Our family has been vacationing on Martha"s Vineyard for thirteen years and this is by far the best house we have rented. Let me start out by stressing how immaculate this house is, which is of utmost importance to me. This is truly a warm, comfortable home which is lovingly taken care of by the owners. The property is beautifully maintained and perfect for families with small children. My four year old had so much fun on the see saw and swing and was thrilled with the tree house. As for location, you can bike so many places including the Right Fork Diner for breakfast, which is just a few minutes away. I can't say enough about this beautiful, clean home away from home. We did not feel like we were staying in a rental property; it was more like being a guest in someone's home.

Katama Memories Stay

This was our first time visiting Martha's Vineyard and Don and Kathy could not have made our stay more perfect if they tried! Every detail was thought of. The house was perfect for our family of 6 and was well stocked. We appreciated not having to purchase paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, etc. The grounds of the house were immaculate and we enjoyed sitting outside in the evening and our s'mores campfire. Don is a wealth of knowledge about the Island and will help with any questions you have or activities you would like to do. The house is perfectly located withing biking distance of both South Beach and Edgartown. We also liked walking up to the Katama Airfield to watch the planes and have a bite to eat. We were sad to leave and hope to come back again!

A quiet haven close to the beach

Don and Kathy Welch are great hosts with two great properties tucked in off the main roads to South Beach but close enough to the beach to walk to it. The house is immaculate and cozy. We couldn't have been more pleased with our accommodations.

Cleanly Katama House

Our stay at Don and Kathys property was great and as advertised. The house is clean and in great condition. The owners are friendly and helpful. The house is an affordable price on MV for a week in the summer.

Relax and Recharge

We found this house to be the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful island of Martha’s Vineyard. Easily accessible to everything on the island and truly wonderful hosts. Would definitely recommend!

Relaxing and accommodating

Don and his wife Kathy were very gracious and sincerely want all their renters to enjoy the things the island provides to make it a special place. We have been visiting MV for over 20 years and the Welch's provide a place to reinforce why we feel MV is our happy place.

Perfect house for families

This was the perfect house for our family on Martha's Vineyard: 1/ The location is great Calm neighborhood with a great backyard for kids, diner within walking distance and a 10mn bike ride to the beach on one side and the town on the other side. 2/ Amazing host Don was an amazing host. He went beyond taking good care of his guests: he took the whole family clamming, he let us use his kayak and made a fire for us the last evening so that the kids could have S'mores.

Perfect Neighborhood and Great Hosts!

Delightful and peaceful stay in Katama. The location couldn't be better - half way between South Beach and downtown Edgartown. Very attractive garden - outside space in which to relax. Comfy beds. Really liked that master was on main floow - we put the teens on floor 2 and we all had privacy.

Family week away

Can’t beat this location between south beach and Edgartown and the hosts have so much for the kids to do. Don was super helpful communicating all the island procedures for Covid and even picked up my over sand permit for me to avoid a trip to the office. Our second time at this property and would recommend it again to any family looking for a great vacation

Kathy and I do our very best to provide a clean, safe and down right fun place for families of all ages. Our reward? We get to meet and enjoy super great visitors like Josh's family. We meet and greet all of our travelers and insist that if they ever have a question or notice a need to correct even the smallest of home issues, that they let us know so we can get right on it! Easy for us to do, for we live right next door. Our mission is to maximize - optimize - the fun, family time of our guests. One thing we do is always query our guests as to their knowledge of what the Vineyard has to offer, all to help them to select what is best for them. It's just good business to treat the customer right and hope that they leave our beautiful island content, refreshed and hopefully with a little bit of Vineyard beach sand in their hair.
