Located approximately 10 miles south of Kailua-Kona is your Hawaiian home while visiting visiting us here on the Big Island of Hawaii. Arise in the morning and enjoy a freshly brewed cup of Kona coffee while planning your adventures for the day. You are just minutes away from several historic sites, museums, beaches and trails to choose from. After returning home enjoy cocktails and a full, home cooked Hawaiian meal while enjoying an unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean from the expansive lanai.

Situated in the peaceful community of Kealakekua, you will experience the true "Spirit of Aloha" while surrounded by lush, tropical landscaping and the songs of native birds. With 1,800 square feet of living space, vaulted ceilings, and comfortable furnishings, you will experience a degree of relaxation which you may never have felt before.

During the occasional day when mother nature's weather is being less than cooperative, curl up on the couch and relax in the spacious living room to watch your favorite show on the 52-inch flat-screen TV or making your friends on the mainland jealous while describing your adventure to them using the free, high speed Internet. Pupus (Hawaiian appetizers) and game time snacks are a snap in the fully equipped kitchen. The foodies and chefs in your group should be able to find everything they need to create stunning food that will sure to satisfy.

At the end of the day, retreat to the master bedroom where you'll find a king-sized bed, private deck access, and an attached master bathroom. Guests are sure to sleep soundly in the second or third bedroom, both housing cozy queen beds. With the windows open and the cool Hawaiian breeze filling the room, your batteries are sure to be fully recharged for the following days adventures.

Immerse yourself in some of the history of the Big Island. The Pu'uhonua O Hōnaunau National Historical Park is just 20 minutes away. This beautiful site is home to ancient burial grounds and The Place of Refuge. Also take advantage of the co-located picnic area complete with outdoor grills and picnic tables and access to hiking trails.

Kahalu'u Beach Park, Manini Beach, or Magic Sands Beach Park are just minutes away where you can enjoy swimming and snorkeling in the warm Pacific waters. Scuba diving, whale watching, fishing tours and parasailing are just few of the many activities that are just a phone call away or can be booked online using the speedy WiFi provided in the house. If you are interested in any of the ocean related activities we highly recommend that you book these activities early in your visit here. Sometimes the ocean can be uncooperative and should that happen you will have time to rebook your ocean activity.

Experience some of our native way of life by visiting one of the several coffee and macadamia nut farms. The Kona Coffee Living History Farm, Greenwell Farms and The Hamakua Macadamia Nut Company are all just a coconuts throw away.

To make your adventure here on the Big Island complete, make time to visit Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, city of Hilo, and Mauna Loa! For those wanting to get up in the world, book a tour to the top of Mauna Kea where the view from 14,000 feet is unparalleled. Oceanfront golf courses like Kona Country Club and Hualalai Golf Course are plentiful for those wishing to chase the little white ball around.

A Month in Paradise

I booked this beautiful home for a month and invited my children and grandchildren and friends they could join me at anytime. It was an amazing experience, with quick access to great beaches and hikes. The home was spotless with amazing view and everything you could want in terms of supplies, equipment and beach toys. Excellent hosts! Best VRBO Hosts I have ever had, and I use VRBO a lot.

Lovely home and wonderful hosts!

The Garden Wall House is a beautiful home with an amazing view of the ocean. We spent many mornings and evenings on the lanai watching the sky's ever-changing colors. The kitchen has everything - utensils, dishes, and a fully-stocked pantry. For going out on adventures, the garage has shelves of gear- beach towels, chairs, snorkel sets and more. The home's furnishings are beautiful and offer many spots to relax. Best of all Mike and Shelley make you feel so welcomed and at home.This was a 5+-star experience!!!

After many years of enjoying the splendor of the Big Island for a few weeks during the winters as a brief escape from the Montana winters and with retirement creeping up on us, we decided this is the place we want to spend our retirement days. We purchased our home in 2011 and have enjoyed every minute of it. In 2018 we were extremely fortunate to be able to acquire the Garden Wall House. Many family and friends have thoroughly enjoyed visiting here and having the privacy of this beautiful home while they are here.
Nothing gives us greater pleasure than to be able to provide things for others and to pass along the Aloha spirit. This is the only rental property we have and that affords us the ability to devote our undivided attention to its care. We recently changed listing our property from another listing service to VRBO. For some reason during the transition to VRBO none of our guest reviews followed the listing. Most of our previous guests have elected to leave their thoughts in the Guest Journal provided in the home.
We look forward to the opportunity to provide you with an extraordinary Hawaiian experience here on the Big Island and look forward to extending our welcome to this very special place.
